I am re-reading "Pounds & Inches" and see that you normally load 2 days, unless you have been "dieting" and therefore load for a week. My question is 2-fold.
I have been doing the "Eat to Live" healthy eating since November of 2012. This "Eat to Live" book was written by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and his philosophy is that you eat a high nutrient dense diet of whole fruits (3-5 a day) and veggies (1 lb. raw and 1 lb. cooked) daily and lots of beans (1 cup daily). Basically, he believes you should eat VERY limited dairy (1 egg a week) and VERY limited ANIMAL proteins (10% weekly, if at all). I don't consider this "dieting" so much as healthy eating. In the "loading"/"Gain Before Loss" section of "Pounds & Inches" it says to load for 2 days unless there has been "excessive previous dieting" --- in which case you load for a week. I only want to loos 15-20 lbs. so am in no way "obese" Like everyone out there, I go between bouts of eating more and less healthily.
Question 1: Based on eating VERY healthy since November, do you think I need to "load" for a week?
Question 2: Also, when I load should I go and eat yummy fattening foods like ice cream, greasy burgers, fries, pasta etc. or follow the Phase 1 Food List I see on the web and eat healthier fattier foods like avocados and olive oil, salmon, eggs, cheese etc. I have seen many posts where people make a point to go crazy with eating all the foods they wont have again.
Biggest Concern: I want to load with the proper food base on load days so that my fat reserves are properly stocked and I respond my best on future phases.
Hi. I know this reply comes a bit delayed but I'd do Phase 1 type loading and eat healthier fats and proteins. Eating healthier more nutrient packed foods seems to help for the first VLCD week for things like leg cramps, headaches, cravings... HCGChica on YouTube recommends cutting out sugars and starches even a week or two before loading just to help ease into VLCD.
I have a question for you: In doing Joel Fuhrman's approach since November. What results have you seen weight and health wise vs. HCG?
