    Needed?

I have heard this phase is not even needed. What does everyone else think?

Never tried to skip it, but Dr. Simeon put it in the protocol for a reason. He says its to build your normal fat reserves. I would do it if I were you. Others who have not loaded at all or correctly have complained about hunger issues. When I loaded, I used it as a "goodbye" to some of the foods that I thought I would miss.

Very curious. I woudl love more information on what you mean by your statement.
What do you consider phase 1
why are you asking the question

I usually find that a question like that has a ton of qualifiers behind it.

So as I ask my Clients, "what is the whole question, what are you really after?"
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

I think there is some confusion here with the first statement by jlb79 and I am glad you asked those clarifying questions quelsen. What I was talking about when refering to Phase 1 was what Kevin Trudeau calls Phase 1 in his book. This is before the injections and loading starts. He states that Phase 1 in his book "is not required" and that some either skip it or do it half-heartedly. I don't recall seeing any think resembling KT's Phase 1 in the Simmeon's protocol.

Since I saw no posts here on Phase 1 I was wondering if it was even necessary. Seems like most people simply start on Phase 2 with the injections and loading as outlined in Simmeon's protocol.

Sorry for the confusion, as I was posting quickly and had to go. I will try to be more descriptive in the future. Thanks for the responses and thanks in advance for any future input.

Dr. S didn't have "phases" per se.... just things you need to do. The term around phases came in from Kevin T's book I believe. Phase 1 is known as a cleanse and I don't believe it's necessary.

Ah ok. That is what I thought. I didn't see anything in Simmeons about phases so I thought when I mentioned Phase 1 it would be self explanitory.

Actually Simeons does talk about "Gain before loosing" He talks of gorging for at least two days...

"Most patients who have been struggling with diets for years and know how rapidly they gain if they let themselves go are very hard to convince of the absolute necessity of gorging for at least two days, and yet this must he insisted upon categorically if the further course of treatment is to run smoothly. Those patients who have to be put on forced feeding for a week before starting the injections usually gain weight rapidly - four to six pounds in 24 hours is not unusual - but after a day or two this rapid gain generally levels off. In any case, the whole gain is usually lost in the first 48 hours of dieting. It is necessary to proceed in this manner because the gain re-stocks the depleted normal reserves, whereas the subsequent loss is from the abnormal deposits only.

    ........

compromise by insisting that they eat frequently of highly concentrated foods such as milk chocolate, pastries with whipped cream sugar, fried meats (particularly pork), eggs and bacon, mayonnaise, bread with thick butter and jam, etc. The time and trouble spent on pressing this point upon incredulous or reluctant patients is always amply rewarded afterwards by the complete absence of those difficulties which patients who have disregarded these instructions are liable to experience.

During the two days of forced feeding from the first to the third injection - many patients are surprised that contrary to their previous experience they do not gain weight and some even lose. The explanation is that in these cases there is a compensatory flow of urine, which drains excessive water from the body. To some extent this seems to be a direct action of HCG, but it may also be due to a higher protein intake, as we know that a protein-deficient diet makes the body retain water."

Is that what you consider Phase 1? Simeons doesn't use the term "phase." It's my understanding that the phases didn't come into play until Kevin T. Loading is simply part of the protocol...
