And this is mainly why people don't do it. There is no evidence it makes the
protocol work any better, or ensures that you will stabilize.
To address the reason you gained weight in the first place, you just have to do the work and figure it out in maintenance. It can be a variety of reasons and everyone will have their own unique challenges to deal with. Doing a bunch of cleanses might be of some temporary benefit, but it doesn't address the root causes of why your metabolism hasn't been working optimally for you.
