Should I do an apple day?

My last few days have been pretty stagnant and I don't know if it's because I'm in a stall or because I haven't been able to go to the bathroom for three days. Here are my stats for the last 4 days:

    8/31 VLCD15 181.6
    9/01 VLCD16 180.7 -0.9
    9/02 VLCD17 180.6 -0.1
    9/03 VLCD18 181.1 +0.5

Any advice would be helpful. I don't have access anywhere right now for smooth move tea or anything like that. At a cabin in the mountains in Lincoln, MT.

You're not in a stall yet. A stall is more than 4 days of no losses. You have a net loss since 8/31. Apple days are not really helpful. They put more stress on your body, and only get rid of some water that comes right back on again. Even Dr. Simeons says they are only of psychological benefit.

Just keep on the program, it will all work out over the long term.

Do you have fresh lemon (or lime) available? Try drinking a big glass of very warm water with a lemon squeezed into it in the morning. And lots of hot coffee. That will often get things moving.

If you have any magnesium or vitamin C available, take some of that.

Well today VLCD19 I'm up 0.8 to 181.9 so I think I'm officially in a stall. Recommendations? Words of encoregment? I don't think I'm going to do an apple day because I keep reading those don't really work. I guess I'll just keep marching along and do what I'm supposed to do. Chin up!

Yes, just keep marching on. Your losses are on track and still better than average, so there may be nothing out of order at all. Men will usually lose something every day, but women very seldom will get through a round without a stall or two. And often the progress chart is "hold, hold, lose, hold, lose, hold hold hold, lose, etc". We retain water differently than men, unfortunately for scale motivation. Try to remind yourself that when the scale stops moving, you are still losing fat. Sometimes it helps your mental state to check inches on those days.

The protocol explains it as our bodies temporarily replacing the used fat stores in the cells with water. After a while, the water releases and then we see the number drop on the scale. That can happen in a big dump of water, which is fondly called a "whoosh".

If you are eating the melba, you might try dropping that. A lot of people have a hidden gluten sensitivity and do better without the melba.

I haven't eaten any Melba, chicken or apples. I seem to have an adverse effect to all those things. My scale measures EVERYTHING including fat%, water%, and bone density. I have noticed that the fat lbs is continuing to go down and the water up slightly so this proves your point. I'm desperately trying to not let the scale affect my moods. It's one of my goals so this is a real test right now.

That's a hard one isn't it? I hear you. It is a total challenge to look at that scale number as data rather than let it define your outlook on the day. I'm currently fighting that battle today too. I had a big gain show up on the scale this morning. But at least I know it was from an food experiment that failed. Its still depressing to see that higher number regardless of the reason.

Hang in there, things will start moving again soon.

Well I guess my "stall" was just a little glitch in the road. I got on the scale and was down 2.1 this morning. I haven't had a loss like that since day 3 of my VLCD! I think I've just proven my poultry/beef theory though. Everyday after I have a steak for dinner I have a great loss but after I eat poultry I don't. Think I may have steak and Bol Choi again tonight

What you had there is the much-sought-after "whoosh" when your body releases that water it's been holding. I always called it a visit from the whoosh fairy.

Try to remember that what looks like a stall is not always a stall. And even if it is, it will most certainly break and then your losses catch up again.

It's great that beef works for you. It make P2 easier to have that choice.

Hi there , are you shure the poultry is "bio" fed? What the poultry gets , you get! It may that extra-mile you need to go.Last round I had that problem ,had to change shops.
