Are cooked onions allowed during P2?

Hey all. I just started my second round of hcg yesterday after about 6 weeks of maintenance, which included a trip to Mexico!
I know onions are on protocol; but, I also know cooking them really changes their composition. Anyone know if cooked onions are allowed?
    Thanks!

KC, I cooked them for my veggie all the time. I'd slice them thin and cook over protein on GF grill. Love cooked onions.

Yes you can prepare them any way you like: raw, boiled, air-fryed, grilled, water/broth sauteed are all fine.

yes cooked onions are fine. Just understand that they are higher in carbs.

The carbs in onions are not something to be concerned about in P2 (unless you are doing an alternative version of the protocol that makes that an issue).

The calories are something to consider, though. Onions are one of the higher calorie per ounce vegetables allowed on the diet. That is not a negative, because if you have trouble getting your calories up to 500, using onions as your vegetable can help get you there.

Vegetables are useful as your swing items that you can use to adjust your calories by choice of item and increasing/decreasing portions.

Absolutely - One of my favorite meals is called my P2 Patty Melt - I grill a 96% lean burger and then top it with a whole onion that I've sliced, sauteed and browned in beef broth. Always have a loss on the following day

I poach my fish in chopped onion and jalapeno! It's delicious!
