Thread: Day 1 of Phase 2 Today - Any others starting now?

    Day 1 of P2

Hi all, I am starting day 1 of my VLCD. Gained 3lbs during loading and full to the rim this morning so glad to be on the VLCD portion now. I've been to this rodeo before so I'm prepared and ready to go, hardest part for me is realizing how much I fill time with food even when I'm not hungry. For instance my stomach is growling now but I am not hungry so now I must retrain my brain that just because I hear growling doesn't mean EAT.

    Welcome Rosie!

I think this whole process, aside from losing the weight, is all about retraining the brain, which has proven quite difficult for me. I seem to keep gaining and losing the same 18 pounds (wish it was 20 but never quite make it to goal) This is my sixth round in 4 years. It seems like the time just creeps by on the VLCD, I must check this forum 4-6 times a day just for something to do, a mental break to commiserate with people who understand, but the forums have proven very quiet lately. So I've been entertaining myself by watching HCG Chica youtube vlogs. She's so cute.

Hope everyone is doing well and sticking to the program - - I only have 30 days left - whoo hoo! lol
    Round Start May 21st: 159 lbs - - Goal weight 140

[QUOTE=LolaCat;1036962]Welcome Twinmama! Your losses are awesome and I am happy to share in the journey. I have also done several rounds - - I think this is my sixth since 2012. I got to goal once, but every since I keep gaining and losing the same 17-20 pounds. Last year I got sick and was on steroids for 4 months and I think that contributed to the gain. At any rate I will make it close to goal this round (within 3 pounds) but I'm thinking of doing a short round end of July/Aug to take off the last bit and give my self some cushion (or lack there of) lol.

Hi Lolacat. Sorry I just saw your message. I haven't been on the forum in a few days. Thanks so much for the welcome. Your losses are great. So awesome you don't have much to lose and you will soon reach goal. A short round is great it's important to have the little cushion weight. Those steak days in p3 can be hard to do. Especially for me, steak gives me heart burn. I do high protein days instead. How is your day going?

I am sticking to the program. TOM is here. I have t weighed myself since Tuesday. I weigh twice a week. In Tuesday I had total 13.6 pound loss. Not sure what tomorrow will bring, you know with TOM and all. But you are right about retraining the brain. Teaching myself how to let go of white flor, sugars. It's so hard. Also, I never truly stabilized because I could never add anything successfully apart from oils, fruit and oatmeal. Everything else I saw small to big gains. Sugar is a no go for me too. I was able though to maintain somewhat win a lot of struggle but I worked out like a beast. Lol I did cross fitness. Atkins never worked for me so P3 isn't something I look forward to. It's calories and sugars to avoid for me, not carbs. I only notice huge gains when I eat fatty foods like nut butters, dairy, white flour, and when I eat sugars including many fruits. My strategy, eat the hcg foods with the exception of some oils, P3 veggies fo a month after and then add oatmeal and brown rice and some fruits in P4.

Hi everyone and welcome to all those joining! I've been off the forum since last Friday with Memorial Day travel and getting back into things at work. I'm glad to see everyone here.

LolaCat - thank you for sharing the chili recipe as well as your curried chicken salad. I'll post the meatballs and marinara recipes later today. Don't worry about your loses. You are doing everything right; the scale will catch up!

I'm happy with how things are going and managing to avoid temptations. I was doing great with water and then somehow dropped it starting on Monday. Back to it today! It amazes me how thirsty I get when I'm drinking the water as I should. It's like my body realizes it's been missing water and just needs to suck it in. Much easier to do what I need to with water while feeling like that than trying to swallow it down while feeling like I'm sloshing already.

    Have a great Thursday everyone.

Yes Lola same for me. First time I did HCG I kept the weight off a year; now I seem to gain and lose my 15lbs. Although I love food so that may explain it. You're right about the VLCD they go by so slow compared to normal days but that tells us how much food consumes our every day life. Good luck on your journey!

I agree that I find myself getting discouraged sometimes when I'm not losing at the same pace as others. I know why it happens so have to remind myself it's what my body is doing that matters. Not always easy.

I have a bit of a headache too Christie. More of a nagging one than anything pounding. I did my first round too for about the first week.

The water increase helped. I was down 2.6 lbs this morning for a total of 4.6 lbs. I only gained 1 lb during loading so am happy to see 3.6 "old lbs" gone in such a short time. Tons of water again today. I'm getting into my groove with it. I'm not a water drinker normally so it's been an adjustment but today I've found myself so thirsty that it's going down (and out!) quickly.

Does anyone else get worried trying the different recipes out there? Tonight I'm making chicken meatballs with marinara sauce. Everything is to protocol (with the exception of mixing veggies in one meal - both onion and tomato) but gosh it always makes me wonder what morning will bring. I feel like we are on this for such a short time that I hate the idea of screwing with even one day.
Hi Karimack, don't get discouraged with actual pounds loss. I do HCG once a year and my weight loss is always the same; I lose a lot of inches everywhere. I go from a size 8-10 to 4-6 but only lose about 15lbs each round. For me I see and feel the difference in my clothes more than on the scale. I always go by clothes and after about day 10 I stop weight myself daily because I find I get discouraged by the small losses. At that point I weight myself every 5 days, it's hard but I stick to it so I don't get frustrated. I would only suggest this if you have done previous rounds and know what foods work better on you and which do not. Good luck.

    Exercise

This round I am exercising, I didn't think I'd be able to get through it but so far I feel great. I am eating more protein though and I am not worried about it. I make a homemade beef jerky for my pre and post protein snack.

    Hi everyone, happy TGIF!!!!!.
My weight loss today stayed the same since Tuesday. 12 days vlcd 13.6 pounds. TOM is here so I am not surprised. Inches lost since the start 11 inches overall.
I am just hoping that I break out of this TOM stall. Either way I'm not bothered. Usually, I see gains of 5 pounds or more during tom when not on hcg. So to stay the same means I'm doing something right. Today is day 2 of TOM and the worst. I am going to weigh again on Tuesday next week. Should be done by then.
Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend.

Tomorrow I am hiking Thumb Butte mountain and I plan on going OP so I can take in some extra protein for the hike. Does anyone have any thoughts about protein shake or just eggs? I kinda wanna do the shake to see if there is some sort of stall but I kinda wanna do the eggs which I know we can do occasionally. Has anyone here done a protein powder?

Hi Rosie, how did the hike go? Were you able to take the extra protein? Did it help? That homemade beef jerky sounds good.

Hi everyone, thought I would jump in here. I'm new VLCD 18 and this will be my third round. I had great success on my previous two rounds but managed to eat my way back up to my pre-weight both rounds thanks to not following a good phase 3 and phase 4....so this time I will learn from my mistake and be as careful on the next phases as I am on this phase. Doing great so far, sticking to protocol but have a slight variation everyday (allow myself x2 cups of tea with skimmed milk), my snacks are restricted to an apple and an orange a day. I also substitute a protein shake in place of lunchtime meal as it's easier for me and I'm struggling with eating meat. I'm also not a fan of weighing daily as like others feel frustrated and disheartened if the expected losses are not there but very happy with the overall loss which to date is around 18lbs and hoping to loose another 18-20lbs by the end of this round.

Today I am going to start doing morning Pilates into my routine and a daily walk.

    Hope everyone is doing great.
