Thread: Day 1 of Phase 2 Today - Any others starting now?

  1. #73
    Hi Jenga,

9lbs in 4 days is over 2lbs per day average. In 7 days, you're still over 1lb per day. What has helped me round after round is to think about the average. I psychologically don't think of it as a stall if I'm averaging about .8-1lb per day. The days where the scale doesn't move....is just your body catching up. I've had an epic stall of 2 weeks once (because of TOM!), but then the weight came off again and when I tally'd it all up after a 23 day round - yep, .8Lbs on average loss per day.

The days where the scale doesn't move are so frustrating for sure. I'm sitting on the same weight as yesterday, no change On average I was hoping for a 4lb loss per week but it has been around half of that.....still losing but soooo slowly. Resigning myself to do another shorter round in September for those last 10 lbs.

gjgardener, I always assume I'll average about .5 per day so I don't get disappointed and say FRAK IT i'm eating real food. Ha. Keep your chin up.

Yes, it's always best to look at the big picture. There are so many days where my losses are .2 and I'm so frustrated, but then I'll have day like today where I had a woosh of 1.4 released, which is very rare for me but makes me so happy! In the end I will be about 18 pounds lighter which averaged out is .45 loss a day. If I included my load weight in that it would be even more. Big picture thinking is what gets me through.

Today one of our clients had a BBQ, everyone required to go. It was fine, I wasn't hungry, just deprived feeling. Then our boss took our whole department out for ice-cream, which was a super nice treat on such a beautiful day, but again, I'm the odd man out and then everyone croons over me. Ugh. As I've said before, it's a loooooong 40 days.

But we are DOING it!! And I'm ROCKING it! Every day and every "nay" is one step closer to my goals. This is hard work and I'm not doing this for nothing, I'm doing this to improve my health, my self image and my overall happiness. I need to remember that there's no amount of treats or food that is worth giving up all that.

    Good luck everyone!

Started last Friday my load days. Sunday was the start of Phase 2. Day 6 with 5.6 loss so far. I am hungry but reading that everyone goes through this week. Drinking lots of water. Hoping to get down more.

It took me 3 days to get back to my pre-cheat weight so I won't be doing that again.

This is so true Lola, I am super insecure so when I gain weight my whole attitude changes compared to when I'm at my comfortable weight (120) and even at 120 I should be about 108 but at 41 I'll take 120. I keep telling myself the same thing, this is about healthy living and feeling good about myself. I will literally stop living life when I feel crappy about my weight and how I look. I start to shut myself in the house, I wish I wasn't like that but you are who you are and all you can do is try and fix it. Keep ROCKING IT!

    Hello!

Was happy to see the scale go down to 164 (-2lbs). I still feel very far away and well....I'm only on day 9 and I want to get to at least 155. I wish I could hit the fast forward button on my life sometimes.

The last 10 lbs. are so brutal. If all previous rounds are predictive, this is about the time I stall out, drop, stall out, drop - etc...

One day at a time (ohhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!)

I am at my first official stall, booooo!!! Hardest part of the diet is eating as clean as we do and not seeing the scale move. I know changes are still happening but it sure does suck. This Saturday is our weekly Thumb Butte hike which is about an hour of hiking and the first 20-30 minutes of the hill is STEEP. Hopefully this helps push me through my stall.

    Have a nice weekend everyone.

I did a strenuous hike once and I ate a an egg /eggwhite scramble before I left to power me through and ate normally and still had a good loss. You don't want to over extend yourself and not eat, that can make you stall and gain too. I don't consider two days at the same weight a stall. You just need to give your body time to catch up. You've lost 10.4 pounds in 17 days, I had only lost 9.4 by day 17. You are so close to goal, it seems to go slower the closer you are.

I think I'm also battling genetics, I'm half Greek and obesity runs in the family. I have big bones and my body just like to be heavier so at 5'4 my goal weight is actually 140. Which might look heavy on some people but if I get smaller than that I start looking emaciated (so I'm told) I of course think I look great, but maybe there is some truth to it as it's the people who love me most, that are not overweight that get concerned.

Try not to judge yourself by the numbers on the scale but how you feel in your skin and how your clothes fit you. I bet at 128.8 you look pretty great. Celebrate your tenacity and love yourself the best you can. You are very near half way done and you will get very near to goal if not completely to goal, but remember the numbers on the scale don't define your success, it's how you feel that counts. Positive self talk, daily affirmations will help propel you forward both physically and spiritually.

    Have a wonderful day!

You are right Lola and wise words. It does go by so much slower the closer you get. Your positive words help and I hope you say the same things to yourself when you feel frustrated. Keep it going and keep it up we are so close and then P3 which at this point is an awesome stage of cheese and fat, yum. I have pinned lots of no sugar desserts for my P4 stage but can make the cocoa crack in P3 and I can't wait. I am a dessert addict so that's where I go wrong but I am determined to do better this time. I am already exercising daily so hopefully this time around I stay smarter and fitter. Good luck hope all is well. Oh and I broke my glass scale this morning so off to the store for another.

Unhappy Today is my first day!

    Hello everyone!

Not completely sure if I am doing this right, but I am on my first day of VLCD phase 2! I am feeling really fatigued and kind of dizzy... I was hungry, but that subsided.

I have done this diet before and unfortunately didn't do the maintenance period well or seriously and gained back ALL my weight plus 4 pounds... I am super embarrassed because I was super strict with myself and was so proud and that all went to the garbage. I am determined to lose at least 25 pounds, but not sure if I can do this because last time I only lost 17...

Any advice, recommendations or encouragement would be awesome!

Thanks and wish me luck :/
