Thread: Day 1 of Phase 2 Today - Any others starting now?

    Hi Everyone, I'd love to join the group for support as well. Courtw I'm right with you! I did the same thing. This time will be different

    I'm on my 3rd round... 1st was years ago... very successful in losing, i did not do my work in maintaining. I started a 2nd round in Fall of last year.. started off strong but over the holidays my company closed, let everyone go, we ended up moving and bam! this is where I am today.
    I loaded on Thurs & Friday... Today is my VLCD 2.

    I can do anything for 40 days!!! I'm going super strict, I really want to lose 30 lbs

    Ended load at 158
    6/19 157 (started TOM.. just my luck) -1
    6/20 155.8 -1.2

    -2.2 total

    let's get skinny!

    Good luck to the newbies who have just joined this thread. I think many of us here on this thread are in the same boat having done rounds in the past but not following up well in phase 3 and four....I know this is me to a tee. If I don't loose as much as I want to on this round I will do a short round in September for those last few pounds. It would be great if those of us in Phase 2 can move over to a new Phase 3 thread.....I am a bit nervous about this phase. How are people transitioning into Phase 3....I have read a few conflicting strategies so I will be interested to hear. I am going to follow a strategy I've researched which is to basically do a P2 phase bulking up on extra veges and protein to get the calorie count up and very very gradually adding in good fats one serving at a time.

    Welcome to all the new comers. No matter how many times you've tried, each time you try again has the possibility of getting it right! The important thing is to keep trying.

    I am on day 29 and this is the part of the program where I get really antsy because my losses are soooooooo slow. I will be lucky to lose 4 pounds in the next 11 days. I am getting very excited for P3 and like you gjgardner I'm trying to come up with a good strategy for P3. I have always stabilized beautifully and been supper strict and successful in P3. For the most part I've stayed with P3 style eating in P4 because whenever I deviate and allow myself sugar and carbs I would instantly gain and have to do steak days. Then I just quit doing steak days and gradually over a year's time, would gain the weight back. I really don't have a strategy for that. Sigh. I may just have to do a round every year.

    I'm getting hungry and tired, both signs that I am near the end. I will finish strong.

    oh me too LLC.....I'm a bit over it.....feeling hungry right now and tired too but still have a whole lot more energy than I did eating indiscriminately. Only 9 more days to go.

    So last night I went to water aerobics with my friend who is two weeks behind me in protocol. She has more weight to lose so her losses are a lot greater than mine. I think she's already lost over 20 pounds (net loss, not load) and still has about 20 days to go. So I woke up this morning (went potty) and weighed myself and had a .2 gain from yesterday, I went back to bed discouraged, read for 30 minutes and got up and weighed again and was down .8, which would be .6 from yesterday. I weighed several times to be sure. Not sure if I should count today as a .2 gain or a .6 loss but for my psyche I'm going with the latter. My friend woke up to a 3.8 loss, which I'm super happy for her, I've never heard of such a thing this late in the program, so freakin' awesome!

    So this is the part of the program where I start experimenting with cheating. In my past rounds it seems that at the end when my losses are so minuscule, if I cheat I will show a small gain the following day, followed by a very good loss the next day. When I say cheat, I don't mean donuts or potato chips, I mean like maybe two tablespoons of cocoa crack or a piece of cheese, or an egg, or maybe half a avocado. I think tonight I am going to make the cocoa crack and I'll let you know how I fair tomorrow. I am in no way encouraging anyone else to cheat or go off protocol mind you, I'm just sharing my experiences and inner neurosis.

    Well I'd be interested to see if you experience a loss after the small cheat. I cheat almost everyday having an extra cup of tea with full cream milk. I wrote that recipie for cocoa crack down yesterday and will be saving it for the last week of P3...yum can't wait to try it. I find myself repeating similar patterns to my previous rounds, so by this stage of the round I have forgone lunch......this always happens, part of it is because I can't be fragged preparing it and the other is I'm simply not hungry....the downside is that once in this cycle I'm scared to actually have lunch again because then I think I will start to gain weight. I know this is bad, it can cause stalls, and put my body into starvation mode.... This morning I woke up to 1 pound loss since I weighed myself on Monday....happy with that. I also have been eating the same meal every night which is some sort of chicken tomato soup, found the recipie on this forum.

    Overall I'm satisfied......this round I haven't lost as much as in previous rounds and not as much weekly as I had hoped BUT yay I'm fitting back into my skinny clothes again. I always loose weight from my stomach, butt and breasts....it just melts away....so no more belly roll over the jeans when I sit down.....I still have some rolls along my sides though....those pesky side rolls

    How is everyone going?

    Ugh super jealous you lose weight in your stomach that's always my last place booo! But good for you. We all want what we don't have.

    Well I didn't do the cheat per se, although I did get home to discover that I didn't defrost my chicken, so the only thing I had was full fat cottage cheese. So I ate a half a cup of that with a few cherry tomatoes and cucumber and lots of pepper. So in a way, it was kind of a cheat as I believe we are only allowed fat-free cottage cheese. I was down .4 today, I'm pretty happy with that. 9 more days to go. 3.6 to goal, still feeling pretty certain I will get close, maybe within a pound, but have to remind myself - they are only numbers on a scale, it's how I feel that matters. My clothes fit, I'm comfortable in my skin again. This is what matters.

    Well done you for the loss even with the full fat cottage cheese. I have to agree with your statement...so true and if this is the case then I've already reached my goal. We are tracking along very similarly...my final day will be around the end of the month or until my drops are gone.

    Rosie....you are not far from your goal at all and tracking along nicely. I was kind of hoping for a goal weight of 120 pounds too but I look a bit skeletal at that weight, I think 122 or 124 would suit me better but may have to do a another short round to achieve that.

    That's awesome Lola, yeah stay on plan as much as possible to get closer to your goal, but it does matter how you feel about yourself most. I am also thinking of ending 6/30 instead of 43 days which is 7/10. I'd like to but I'm running out of food ideas and simply getting sick of the food I'm eating, we shall see how strong my will is. I'd love some bacon, this plan definitely prepares you for cleaner eating because now the P3 menu to me sounds divine!

    Hi gj yeah only 5.8 pounds from goal but my body frame is small and my body without the fat would probably be 100-110 but can't really remember what I weighed in high school when I had no fat and my stomach was flat. I am going to try and stick it out for the whole 43 days 7/10 but may throw the towel in 6/30 we shall see where I'm at then.
