Thread: Extending to 50+ days of p2

Extending to 50+ days of p2

I have always made the mistake of not doing all phases when I have done this in the past and this time I am going to make sure I do every phase perfectly.

However, this time in P2 I am realizing it may be better for me to extend the 40 days to around 50 or so and maximize my weight loss to possibly avoid having to do another round.

So far, I have not been having a day off of injections except for period days. Is it necessary to begin skipping an injection day from now? or does it really matter at this point?

Dr. Simeons said that immunity could set in some time around the 40th injection. That means it could happen before the 40th injection, or after it at some point. So you are taking a couple of risks here.

The instruction to skip one day a week in the 40 injection round is to lessen the chance that you will reach immunity during the round. You don't say how far into your round, but you can start skipping now. Many start a short round, decide to extend and start skipping after 2-3 weeks. Skipping that day a week also extends your round to around 46-48 days, which is almost what you are wanting to do anyway. Starting to skip now would afford you a bit of extra anti-immunity protection. To me, it makes sense to skip even if you are doing a short round. You still lose on the skip days, you make extra progress, and you set yourself up to extend the round if you decide you want to do that later.

The longer you go past the 40 maximum injections, the more likely it is that you would hit immunity, and then you would not be able to effectively do HCG again for quite a long time, if at all. On my last round (and because it was my last round) , I did extend to 42 injections and did lose more, but what I found was that in P3, I had to adjust my LIW back up that amount anyway. It really wasn't worth it.

Ok thank you! I am on my 5th week, so I will probably just start p3 as originally planned. I have skipped injections when my period comes like Dr. Simmeon said in the original diet.... I was hoping this would halt immunity also. I guess it might be best just to do my 40 days and do the 3 weeks of p3 and another 3 weeks of p4 before doing another round. Just as long as I can reach my goal weight of 130 by August. I am at 170 right now and that is a 22 lb loss in the last 30 days..... If not then hopefully at least by October.

Your losses are great. Stopping for your period definitely buys you some extra losing days as well as the skip days. I think your plan is good. Remember that the waiting time between rounds increases each time.

    Continued success!

My sis-n-law had a similar experience to Leez's, but she went 30 days on P2 without skipping, then did a planned interruption for 12 days with one mini-load day before resuming, then went back on P2 for 21 more days, but skipped a few days during that last group. She said during the last 21 days, she stalled for over a week, so she ended up only losing about 3 more lbs. after the interruption. So her total P2 days were about 48-50.

Once she got into P3, she immediately went back up to her pre-interruption LIW (an increase of 3 lbs.), and no matter how many correction days she did, she still kept bouncing back up to that pre-interruption LIW and up to two pounds above it. She ended up adjusting her LIW to the pre-interruption LIW and is maintaining there, and basically feeling like she wasted 21 days, and is now worried about immunity if she wants to do the final round sometime this fall, which will be at least 6 months from now.

    Any other similar experiences?

For what it's worth, I have gone close to 50 days in a round and I have also done a 6 week round followed by only 3 weeks of P3 and then back into another round with no issues. Just listen to your body, it will let you know!
