Feeling week, lightheaded and heart palpitations

    Hello
I amo P2 day 28 and I have lost 22lbs. this morning I woke up not feeling well and as I read through the posts I believe my magnesium and electrolytes are low. What is the fastest way to elevate them besides IVs? At what point do I need to go to the ER?

    Thanks!

I think Gatorade and coconut water help electrolytes, also pedialyte stuff you give children

    Thanks. Drinking pedialyte now.

Drink 1tsp of sea salt in warm water. Also are you on thyroid meds? I always have to lower mine when on the protocol.

Thank you. The salt water has also helped. I have read that you take Natural Calm plus Calcium to help with this issue. Where do you purchase this from?

I buy Natural Calm in the health mart section of my local grocery, but any regular health food store should have it.

I generally take a magnesium supplement during P2, and add a low-dose potassium tab if I have muscle fatigue or sluggish feelings. There's a bonus with the magnesium....enough of it and it keeps your digestion moving.

You can't buy potassium in a dose higher than 99mg. So one of those.

And magnesium can be increased until your stools loosen. You can start at 400mg, and increase from there as needed.

If you are particularly sensitive to supplements, you could start at half the above recommendations.

    Leez,

I am taking a pot/mag supplement every day but was given a sample of the Natural Calm. Is that something to take together with my supplement or more of a replacement? If I am already taking this supplement and feeling fatigued, muscle pains etc., should I add in the natural calm?

Its more of a replacement. If your supplement is another form, (like mag oxide, or mag orotate) you can try both. You might have an absorption issue.

For fatigue and muscle pains, you can also try one of these:

pink or sea salt added to your water (about a 1/2 tsp total for the day)
tonic water (contains quinine--helps with muscle cramps)

Thank you for the information, I have been having muscle fatigue , I have been away on vacation and had two very active days of hiking, and my muscles were so fatigued and tired.. Never got sore though..
I just got back from the natural health store and picked up some natural calm plus. I plan to add this in daily and hoping this does the trick, also will help keep things moving..
