    Frustrated with losses on P2!

My husband's first week of losses equaled 14 pounds... and here I am losing way less than a pound a day.

I have gone completely by the book... with the exception of taking a morsel of bread... and I mean tiny piece... for the sacrament on Sunday. I am on the Trudeau protocol which is exactly the same as Simeons just the food selections are more restricted. Such as I can't have the grissini or melba, cant have oranges, the only fish I can eat is sole, flounder, chilean sea bass, and halibut.

I lost more weight on p1 than I have this week on HCG. Isn't the first week supposed to be the best losses you will have? If so I am going to be very dissappointed with the end results.

The first day I was thrilled and thought I would be satisfied with that loss if I lost nothing else this week until I started comparing my losses to everyone elses.

Anyone else feeling this way or going through the same thing? What can I do to speed up the losses... any advice?

It sounds like your expectations weren't accurate, honey. Women lose an average of .5-.75 a day, NOT a pound a day. That's rare. The men always lose better but even your husband's losses will slow after the first week. There are stalls all through the round. Expect to lose in the neighborhood of 25 pounds in 40 days yourself and your husband will likely lose around 30-34.

I think you're right. I was expecting to do as well as my husband did. That will be a huge sorce of frustration for me throughout this whole thing.

Thanks for setting me straight... I didn't know that was the average for women. The HCG just kinda landed in my lap and all I knew about it before I started was what was in Trudeau's book. I read I would lose a pound a day and believed it... especially since my husband was losing 2 pounds a day. It's comforting to know it's not something I'm doing and this is completely normal. That's why I LOVE this forum.

You sure can't compare yourself to a man or it will drive you crazy! LOL Where else could we girls lose 25 pounds in 6 weeks though and reshape so well, losing where we need to lose it? It's still a miracle even if it isn't a pound a day!

When my husband and I took our little morsel of bread for the sacrament on Sunday we said to each other "oh, that will be a 2 lb gain tomorrow!" You are doing great. Colleen was right about what to expect. Keep at it!

I'm the .4 queen!! I'd love to lose at least .5 to .7 a day! I'll have days where once a week I may lose a pound. Looks like you are on the right track!

I am the queen of Oh-Point-Six. At that rate, my LDW will be 29.2 pounds below my VLCD1 weight. I'll take that, any day!

Just for the record, no part of this journey is for the weak.

Thanks guys... that makes me feel soooo much better! You have no idea. I have always had a hard time losing weight and was expecting a miracle. I guess this is still a miracle since I am at least losing. And I will take a loss over a gain any day. I just have to stop watching my husbands losses and comparing them to mine. Grammy's right it WILL drive me crazy. 25 pounds in 40 days is a dream and I really hope I get there.

I lost 11.4 in my first week...I'm now on day 37 and have lost 10 more. I think I'm a bit unusual, because that is pretty low (I won't hit the 25 lbs in 40 days), but I still think that I am in pants I have never worn before that used to hang in my closet with tags on them Size 14 to size 10! Round 2 this summer will get me into uncharted territory!

Keep up the good work - I did this diet with my hubby too, and he is now at 34 down to my 21. It does get frustrating - but everyone is right, you can't compare to men - compare to other women who are starting out at similar sizes and you'll find you are right on track

Wow, and I was just about to start a thread similar to this one, because I thought it was just me! We are in VLCD4, and I haven't even lost all of my load weight yet (load added 4.5 lbs, and I have only lost 3.1 lbs so far) while hubby is in virgin territory already (load added 2.4 lbs, lost 5.9 lbs so far). We have done everything by the book, water intake is good, getting right at 500 calories in (sometimes going no higher than 510), no cheats. I was frustrated because I haven't hit virgin territory yet, and I have not seen any big losses that most are seeing during the first week (and I have a LOT to lose). Thanks for the reassurance, ladies! I suppose I will keep pressing on, because slow and steady will eventually win the race! :-)
On my way to a skinnier me!

Try cutting the melba or grissini.

It is hard when you have a DH doing this too because guys lose it so fast. Whether it's this plan or another DH always kicks my butt in #'s when we start. 2 weeks on hcg resulted in a 8lbs loss for me and a 18lb loss for him. Grrr Good thing we love them so much LOL
