Once you've added up your protein and veggie calories, you can use the size of your fruit serving to get you to the 500 calorie level.

The portion sizes of fruit and vegetables are not critical. For instance, Dr. Simeons says that the size of the apple doesn't matter, its just that you can't sub 2 small apples and call it one serving. Of course reason should have a role in your decision. These days you can probably find an apple that weighs near a pound. So you do have to take the overall calorie count of your day into consideration.

Well I am discouraged beyond belief as I have cut out everything I can find, and I guess I will add strawberries and I guess one other. I may be using too much stevia, at this point with two weeks gone by with no loss I have no earthly idea what is going on. I believe the drops are working doing SOMETHING because I'm not hungry which is a miracle. I am drinking plenty of water but no exercise. If this last change doesn't work I guess I will have to say uncle. It's heartbreaking though, how could I be the only person who can't lose weight following the protocol?

I wonder if the injections would be different, who knows. I sure do feel like giving up though without a doubt

After losing 14# on the first 2 weeks, and without doing one thing differently I have gained back 4 of the pounds and my legs and feet have been very swollen.
The swollen legs and feet indicate that something is causing water retention. However a 14 pound loss for two weeks is way above average, and it could be that your body is just catching up. A 10 day stall is not unusual. But having swollen legs and feet is.

I would try replacing all table salt with mineral or sea salt.

Black coffee with 100% powdered Stevia
100 g each organic Chicken breast (supper) and Line-caught Cod (dinner) with Tony's seasoning on it
    31oz cucumber
    24oz tomato
    28oz celery
64 oz plain water /16 oz mineral water (sometimes 32 oz)
I'm not saying this is your problem, but celery makes me gain. So any food item could be suspect, even the most innocuous one. And you can develop a food sensitivity at any time.

Did you try the dandelion tea, the inflammation smoothie, or an epsom salts/baking soda/ginger detox bath? Any of those might help with the lower extremity swelling.

So sorry Freegirl you're having such a hard time! Clearly, you can lose weight on this protocol because you dropped 14 lbs but something is definitely going on with the swelling and a 4 lb gain is not normal either...small gains and stalls, yes, but not 4 lbs. I hope you figure it out soon.

First of all thank you so so much for sticking through this problem with me. The swelling has gone down but I continue to hover back and forth between -14 and -15 pounds and yesterday was 4 weeks since P1 D1.
I have begun to add fruit (strawberries for 2 days and will add 1/2 grapefruit beginning tomorrow). I'm backing off salt as well and am just using black pepper.
I have had some digestive problems with the amount of raw veges but have assumed that is because I have not been used to them. Hopefully adding the fruit and allowing me to back off of the raw veges will move things a bit. I really don't want to add exercise but want to succeed so much I'll try ANYTHING.
    And 3 more questions:
    1) I am doing a 40-day cycle, whatever happens I need to take 30 days off correct?
    2) does anyone ever lose weight during P3? I have seen a woman who has lost 90 pounds in 5 months and it seems amazing that it would have included 2 months off. I've seen her pictures though and know sh has lost ALOT!
Thank you again so, so, SO much. I will call DietDoc tomorrow and see about doing injections for my second round. That'll be a while before I can start it, I wish that wasn't the case but I know I need to follow the protocol closely.

    1) I am doing a 40-day cycle, whatever happens I need to take 30 days off correct?
If this is your first round, you need to wait 6 weeks before starting another (that includes your 3 weeks of P3). Each successive round requires an increasingly longer waith period. 8 weeks between rounds 2-3, 12 weeks between rounds 3-4, and so on.

    2) does anyone ever lose weight during P3?
Losing weight during P3 is a bad idea. It works against the main purpose of P3 which is to lock in your new lower set point. You want to stay within a 4 pound window of 2 below and 2 above your last dose weight.

Its probably a good idea to change to cooked veggies mostly since the raw ones are bothering you.

It seems likely you'll have a whoosh soon and start losing again. You are just now at the average loss of .5 pound per day, so though the wait for the losses to start again is hard, you really are on track.

Thank you so much!! I will stick this out and then take P3 to decide how to proceed with the next round. You've been so, so helpful and I also will be looking to see if I have a sensitivity of some kind to some of the veges or if the sheer volume has overwhelmed my system.

Ooops one more question: do you think there's a problem with ending the stall early and going into P3 rather than waiting out the full 40 days? If the stall goes on too much longer it seems like a waste of time and energy but it also may mess up my system to end it. I've noticed that people end early if they have reached their goals but wanted to check since at this rate I will definitely have more rounds to complete. Thank you again!

Your stabilization will not suffer if you end the round at 30 dose days or more.

However, a long stall in the middle of a round often means you will have a really easy stabilization. The reason is that the stall is your body normalizing your water levels to you new lower weight.

Stalls are not a waste of time and energy. They are a part of the process, and you are still losing fat even though its not showing up on the scale because water replaces fat in the fat cells for a time before the cells empty. So even though it doesn't look like it on the scale, you are still making progress, and will be rewarded once the cells release.

This little chart illustrates it well.

I love that description and having seen it I remember reading about that process somewhere during my research period. I don't know how I could have failed to see the wait period between rounds though. I'll have to work my mind to make peace with that, it is an investment in long-term living. Not the crazy yo-yo dieting and chaotic gain loss cycle I've been on for over a decade.
As of this morning (with the addition of strawberries and grapefruit and soon to come apples🤣&#129315 I am down 17.6 pounds on Day 31, with about 24 more pounds total to go. Hopefully round 2 will get it done, I'll add some exercise to make sure!

17+ pounds is an excellent result for a 30 day round. Most women lose 12-15. Congrats! If you decide to continue and finish the 40 dose round, you could possibly end up with a 20+ pound loss which would put you in a great position for a final round to goal.

I decided to finish the 40 day round, I'll be finished this Wednesday 2/21. I'll let you know how I end up and thank you so much for all your help and encouragement. I had no idea about the 12-15 for the first round that helps a lot!!
