[QUOTE=ldyj;860408][FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=3]OK, y'all I need some guidance here. I've been invited to my nephew's daughter's Bat Mitzvah and really would like to attend. BUT, the date falls just as I enter the 3rd week of PH3. How can I attend and get away with it? I know if I go, I'll enjoy the party; so I need to make a plan. Got any ideas??? Thanks!!

    Lady J,
You can do this! You will have been eating P3 for two weeks already. If I were you..........I would attend!
You can still have a blast, just no sweets and no sugar, maybe pack an apple or a couple of P3 things with you when you go.
You can even have a glass of wine (don't tell Lyanne though). and if by chance you go over....... the worst thing would be a steak day.

Here is what Dr. S says "It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable, i.e. does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess. During this period patients must realize that the so-called carbohydrates, that is sugar, rice, bread, potatoes, pastries etc, are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm, but as soon as fats and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended otherwise disappointments are almost sure to occur. -

If it's a buffet, it's easy. Salad, the meat, veggies. Period.
If it's a served dinner, eat the above and scrape the rest onto someone else's plate. I went to a Christmas thing in P3 when I was still married and my now ex husband took one for the team. He gave me his meat and veggies, and took my potatoes and bread. He also took my cake, the *******! j/k
Wow, I just googled batmitzvah menus, there were a lot of carbs there. That far into P3 you should be okay with the sauces and stuff like on beef brisket. Just keep away from the carbs and sugar

Thanks Kera! I might try some club soda. I don't drink soda so wine is the only thing I drink that has real taste, besides my morning tea and coffee. Maybe some soda flavored stevia in my club?
(and I see you telling Lady J to have a drink!)

Hi there everyone! Was a draggy weekend for me.. as i didn't lose much over the weekend About 0.8-0.9 losses each day over the weekends..

Lyanne -Apparently , i don't lose as much as i did on my round 2.. But i lost more on round 2 then on my round 1. However, i took drops on round 1 ,so maybe it doesn't work as well.. I'm taking the same pellets now i took in round 2.

The low losses these days is kinda getting into me. I think it had to do with my late dinner? I ate my dinner around 8-10pm . Anyone else have issues with these? I did take 2Ltr of water everyday...

Hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone!!

Btw, i intend to do a 30days...anyone tried that? Do i still need to take a break in the HCG days (Skip a day) ?

Happy Monday, everyone! Love, love, love the first week of this diet!! I lost 3.8 pounds yesterday! Yay! I was a little concerned since I did not gain while loading, but the HCG pulled through! It makes it so much easier to keep going when you get a good result! Now for my first day back at work while on HCG...bringing a "salad topper" and will just grab some lettuce at the cafeteria and bring an apple for a snack.

    Good luck today, everyone!!

Hi Everyone, I didn't post over the weekend (I'm a day ahead here in Australia) so have just finished reading back through your posts. It's so great to see how well everyone is doing. Welcome to the newbies as also. I hope you're finding your groove. It's great to see more joining as it helps with the momentum.

Thanks also for the diet tips. I'm in need of that because I'm feeling a little deflated today partly because I think I'm not doing the diet part right. I had a gain of 0.2kg this morning and suspect it was because I had onions yesterday which is disappointing because I actually enjoyed my meals.

I read so much before starting and it seemed that the general gist of things is that the first week sets the tone of the rest of your losses. I just finished day 7 of VLCD and only lost 3.1kg. I guess I had hoped for higher losses than that especially given that I have quite a chunk of weight to lose. Everyone says it slows down after the first week so I'm worried that my results are going to be really low. I'm probably over reacting and need to take a chill pill but am wondering what I can do to improve things. Hence querying my diet. My diet has been VERY boring but I've felt I needed to do that to get into it. The first few days I was eating chicken for both lunch and dinner with a handful of fresh spinach, curry spices (all allowed ones) and sometimes some wholegrain mustard (that just has mustard, salt, water and vinegar). I did swap the chicken one night and have fish instead with grilled asparagus seasoned with salt and pepper. I've been having both pieces of fruit each day (usually an apple and orange although yesterday I had apple and strawberries and today 2 apples) and usually 1 - 2 of the grissini sticks (although the last 3 days only 1 with yesterday having none). Yesterday I felt like I wanted to change things up a little so slow cooked an onion and had it with my grilled chicken for lunch and another for dinner. I seasoned with Salt and Pepper and added a little of the mustard. Not sure if the onion caused the gain?? Anyway, it's been very boring and I'm at a point where I'm struggling to get it down. I need some help!

I suspect I'm not getting in 500 calories as I'm thinking I'm not eating enough of the vegetable to make up the 500 cals (although I would have thought the onion yesterday would have got me close). What do you think? Any thoughts/suggestions. I haven't been creative because if I can only use one vegetable at each meal I'm at a loss as to how to be creative. Plus, I can't really stomach more than a handful of spinach dry. I did use some balsamic vinegar but today I couldn't even force it down! So, what to do????

As an aside, I had to eat my apple this morning at 10am as I was feeling a little 'off' in the head. I suspect my blood sugars were getting low. Having the apple helped but it means that I can't use any fruit to make lunch meal more interesting. I'm finding most days I need my piece of prior to lunch but try to wait until as late as possible. It's not so much because of the hunger but more of low blood sugar.

I'm also interested to hear your thoughts on cooking for family. I did a bunch of cooking over the weekend and had to keep washing my hands because of fat on meat or butters/oils on my hands from the baking. Does that make a difference in losses? If so, I'm going to get some gloves!

I have my head set on losing 14-15kg in this round but am today feeling a little like it's not possible to even get close if my loses are going to be slow down from here. I need to get my spirits up again.

Thanks in advance for your advice! DSD

    Round 1: 103.8kg - 91kg (August 14-September 20 2013)
    Round 2: 94.2kg (P2 start January 4 2014)
    VLCD 18: -6.3kg
    VLCD 20: -7.0kg
VLCD 22: -7.9kg (had to clean out my wardrobe...its all too big)
    VLCD 31: - 9.7kg

I went to my cousins wedding 2 weeks ago. I packed my own food in my purse and ate that. It kinda stunk but I looked fab in my new dress. And my fiancée sd the food wasn't that good anyway. Lol

    Morning everyone!

Well, my scale held steady today. Guess my chili, as tasty as it was, does not like me. Too bad since I made a triple batch. I'm going to try having it at lunch instead of dinner and see if that works better. I don't think it was the cocoa powder. I didn't use even a tbsp for the triple batch. Beef and tomatoes are usually tricky for me anyway, but I hate not having the variety so I may take the hit from time to time just to keep things interesting. Happily I'm not in a huge rush this round due to having some big travel event coming up, so if I need to take two months this round I will.

Lyanne--I am SO there with you on the wine. It is my weakness, and one of the things I blame for not being able to keep the weight off each time I've lost it. In prior rounds I've had a glass of wine and found I lost the next day. But then I think hey, I can have wine and lose, so I have another the next day and don't lose, or gain, and next thing I know I've tossed the round out the window. So I'm going to try SUPER hard to avoid the fruit of the vine this round. Plus it's awfully nice to wake up completely clear headed every morning so I'm trying to enjoy that!

Ducky--Welcome aboard! I just joined this thread as well so we can be newbies together.

Leasa--Dust yourself off and get back on track. The important thing is that you get back on and keep going. A slip up here and there isn't the end of the world as long as you don't let it derail you altogether.

idyj--You'll be fine! You can either take your own food, or just be very careful what you eat. I'm sure there will be fruit, veggies, some kind of ungravied meat. If not you can race off to the nearest salad bar when it's done. But take it from me, sticking like glue to P3 is even more important than staying on protocol in P2 for long-term success. I've screwed it up enough times to know!

Dandan--I'd be thrilled with .8-.9 daily. You look like you're getting pretty close to goal, so it's to be expected that your losses would slow down a bit. The last round is always the slowest, but SOOO worth it!

    KellyM--Great loss, way to go!

DSD--Onions should be ok for you. You definitely want to get in your 500 calories though. Hang in there, it sounds like you're doing the right things.

    Have a great Monday everyone!

DSD Your onion was probably ok. I occasionally bump up, it's natural, you'll go right back down. As you enter week 2 (or for some week 3) losses slow down or stall for most but they pick back up.

I wouldn't worry about the fat or butter on your hands, that is old science when they thought we absorbed things like that through our skin, not how our skin works.

For those preparing for days out in P3, it shouldn't be too hard. Usually there is salad, meat and fruit so stick to those and you'll be ok. Don't plan on stripping down to no carbs in P3, it's not recommended anymore either, it makes your body very carb sensitive and you may have a lot of trouble in P4 reintroducing them. Keep some fruit in for your carbs.

AFM I'm down .4 this morning. Not much but I weighed in 3 hours earlier so I'm very happy with that. Was expecting no loss. The 180's are getting closer

    Morning friends!

I weighed in earlier than usual today, as it's a go IN to work day. (Typically I work from home.) So I crawled sleepily on to the Wii for a .6 loss. Not to shabby. Ordered a new scale yesterday, should be here tomorrow. I am a little worried about the difference in what it says versus what the Wii says (I don't really trust the Wii either, but at least it's consistent.) but I'll just have to take it and go with it. Did my first round of measurments yesterday as it was day 15, and I'm down some inches, but not as many as one would think being 14lbs lighter. I carry my weight well, though, so I suppose it's going to be hard until I lose some significant numbers for me to see in my clothes.

Alright, running late to work. :/ See you guys later, have a good day POP!
    ~Mandie

    Round One Goal: 230lbs
Plan: Two rounds with light exercise, then exercise and diet (the good old fashioned way!) to get the rest of the way to my goal from wherever I stand after 2 rounds.
    Overall Goal: 180lbs

I'm getting a little discouraged... I obviously know the diet works, just down in the dumps. TOM has me up 1.2 lbs so after losing my load gains, I've only netted 6 lbs lost this round. Right or wrong, I have a groupon I have to redeem by this Friday for a thermal infrared body wrap, so I'm going today in hopes it will get rid of this extra water weight to help me hang in there.
