Thread: Cheating and dosage

    Cheating and dosage

Iíve been on this forum for a couple of days now because I just recently started on the HCG Diet. I am looking to lose 20 lbs and I am taking HCG injections. I am barely on Day 3 of P2 and I have cheated today. My craving are so bad, so Iím wondering if it could be a dose problem. The first day I suspected my dose was too high (it was at 125ui) because I was constantly tired and lethargic and also I would get so hungry in the morning which was weird because I never eat breakfast, so I went down to 100ui. I have been feeling more energetic but now I crave everything sweet and with carbs. I caved in and ate a mini chocolate from Halloween and it immediately satisfied my craving, but I felt awful and a little nauseous after wards. My question is, can my dose now be too low? Is that what can be causing my cravings? I was so ready to give up and once I ate the chocolate, it immediately satisfied my craving and actually motivated to continue with the diet.

Are you still craving now? Is the hunger you've been experiencing quite strong? Like strong enough that you can't ignore it or banish it with a cup of hot tea?

If so, and you have had 4 injections so far, you can skip your dose tomorrow, and we can see which way you need to adjust. I suspect from your account of being very hungry in the morning that the adjustment probably should have been up rather than down. But we can't know for sure until you do a skip day. Usually, you need to be on the same dose for 4 days before doing a skip day, but it looks like you've only done one day at 100iu, is that correct?

If so, we can still get a fairly good idea from a skip day. If you decide to skip your dose tomorrow, pay attention to your hunger levels ONLY starting about 4PM or early evening. (What happens in the earlier part of the day doesn't matter.) If hunger is stronger from 4pm on, you will raise your dose the next day to 150iu. If hunger goes away around 4PM, it means your dose was too high.

Each dose overlaps the last two, so just changing dose without doing a skip day takes 3 days for you to get to your adjusted dose. Which means you are not comfortable for days, and you are not losing optimally. The skip day gets you the info you need to get on track right away.

Thanks For the response Leez, I’m not craving now at the moment, but I’ve been craving since I started. Even on my load days I was feeling “pregnant” like I wanted to snack and eat everything. Also like I said, I’ve been so tired too, that’s why I thought to lower the dose. If I raise the dose would I go back to feeling this way? I have a small baby and I can’t afford to feel like that on a daily basis. I will try skipping tomorrow and follow your advice and I will definitely let you know how I feel.

Please post how your solution was mixed (amount of HCG ius to mixing solution milliliters), and what number you are pulling to on your U-100 syringe. Just to make sure you are taking the dose you think you are.

It would be unusual to need only 100iu or less just beginning your first round.

I’m actually receiving my injections from a weight loss clinic. They’re already pre measured and everything.

What number do you pull to on your syringe to get 125iu dose?

Is it 12.5 or .125? If so this is at 1:1 mixing ratio which is pretty common for prefilled syringes from clinics.

ok, so we have established the mixing ration at 1:1. Info for future rounds: This ratio does work, but its very potent, which means its very easy to make dosing mistakes as the increments are so small. If you have occasion to do another round and can mix for yourself, we recommend 1:2 or even 1:4 ratio HCG to bacteriostatic water. More water means accurate adjustments are easier, less is left in the needle making dose more accurate, and the extra water is thought to help the HCG disperse better in your tissues.

Please report back around 4pm or so today and I'll help you assess the next step.

Hey Leez, so I just wanted update you on how today went. So I had much more energy today and wasn’t sleepy at all. Also I woke up today and still had major cravings and hunger pangs all throughout the day starting from when I woke up at 7 AM and lasting until now. I did stick to protocol but I added 300 calories worth of extra protein, so I’m at 800 for the day. I was strong enough to not give in today but honestly, I don’t know how the rest of the days will go if this continues

But did the hunger/cravings get worse in the late afternoon to early evening? That would be a definitive sign to increase. Its possible the extra protein blunted that effect though.

At least we know that your hunger did not improve on a dose reduction. So it seems that you need to increase. The dose you want is 150iu on your next injection. That would be 15 on your syringe.

You may find that you feel better pretty quickly, but certainly by the second day.

Ok, the only problem is the syringes are prefilled. In your experience if I tell the clinic to up my dose do you think they will? They’ve only given me a weeks worth at a time so I have 2 125ui syringes left.
