    Hormone Replacement Therapy and HCG

I am currently 11 days into P2 and I woke up to a .4 lb weight gain. The only thing I did differently yesterday was put on a fresh estrogen patch. I'm wondering if it's related.

I use oil free products and haven't had a problem before. I have quickly developed a meat averson this round so I have used fat free cottage cheese as a replacement for one of my meals per day. Yesterday was my third time using it and the two days before I had losses of nearly a pound.

I'm wondering if I should stop HRT until the end of this round and if anyone has any experience with this?

As this is a hormone therapy, any new addition of hormones could affect things. However, it would just be temporary. Your body will adjust. Losses can be lower for those that are on HRT as opposed to those that are not taking it, but since you were already on it, your losses should return to whatever level they were before the new patch.

It could just be a fluctuation, since you lost the two days prior.

I would suspect the dairy before considering continuing the patches a problem. You can use the 3 eggwhites plus one yolk option as a sub for animal protein as well. Maybe alternating days with the cottage cheese could work for you, even though the egg sub is just supposed to be occasional. But I know what that meat aversion is like, and you have to cope as you can. One thing that might work for you is making a chicken soup, but pureeing the chicken into the soup. It makes the soup "creamy" and some people are able to stomach the chicken meat that way when the aversion hits. Another option would be to do a J Robb protein shake. Our vegetarian members have reported success with using one of those per day, although whole foods are preferred when possible.

Thanks Leez. I will cut out the cottage cheese for now and try eggs and the pureed chicken soup. I'm hesitant to suspend HRT because it's really helping me but I certainly would if I can't lose weight on it.

One of our former moderators never stopped her HRT during rounds. She said it was worth a slower round to avoid the migraines she got when off of it. I remember that her long rounds would give her about a 17-20 loss. Which is what many of us get without being on HRT, so there is that. If you are losing, even more slowly than you think you should be, you still are losing.

Ok I'm glad to know weight.loss won't be halted but may be slowed a bit. I can live with that. 🙂 I cut dairy yesterday and was down a full pound today so maybe it was just the cottage cheese after all. Thanks for your help Leez.
