    Intense hiking trip during hcg?

I am going to a family reunion in Canada and, in honor of my mother who has recently passed, my Dad has just decided that we should do an intense hike up her favorite mountain. I have not been training on a regular basis. I've done VLCD for 26 days but am only 13 lbs down and would like to continue to the 40 days. How would I handle a very physically- intense day?? I'm using sublingual HhCG

You would basically stay on plan and try to pace yourself as much as possible. I'd split my meals up so that you can eat something every couple of hours to keep your blood sugar more steady. Stay hydrated.

There are no special provisions in the protocol for extra strenuous days. Remember that the HCG is mobilizing your fat stores which your body is currently using for energy, so you will have strength from that. You'll probably feel fine, although you may notice less endurance. However, don't be surprised if you have some muscle inflammation from the extra exertion and stall or even gain for a day or two afterward. Don't stress about it if it happens, it will come off.

Thanks Leez! That puts my mind a little more at ease. Spreading out my meals is a good idea. Another quick solicitation for advice.... What would you do in the morning? I follow protocol in that I only have water/herbal tea in the mornings until about 11:30/lunch time. Would it be ok for me to start eating earlier in the morning or what would you suggest?

I would definitely eat something at breakfast time. You could have your apple for breakfast, do two meals with protein and another fruit snack to let you eat 4 times, or your could break it up even more if you like or switch it around another way. You can arrange the meals however you like as long as you don't eat both portions of one thing at the same meal.

The protocol is very clear that you can re-arrange the two 4-item meals as you like.

If you are concerned about feeling week with just a fruit, you might want to consider splitting your protein so you have protein each time you eat.

I did a strenuous hike in my second week. I decided to have an extra protein. We did it starting early in the morning, so I had a whole egg and 1 egg white for breakfast, later had an apple for snack - then lunch, half an orange for snack, then dinner and the other half of the orange. I still had a good loss the next day, the extra protein did not impact my losses and made the hike comfortable for me.
    Round Start May 21st: 159 lbs - - Goal weight 140
