Does anybody have issues with Cauliflower in P2?

    Hi,

I've had a couple of days now of either no weight loss or slight gain (.2) over the course of the past week that happens to correspond with mornings after I make a chicken soup thickened with cauliflower. It's really delicious, it doesn't look like Cauliflower is on the list of allowed vegetables in the original protocol. That said, the HCG app I downloaded does have Cauliflower as an acceptable veggie.

Is anybody experiencing similar challenges with Cauliflower? Is it off protocol?

    Thanks!!

    Dan

Yes, cauliflower is off protocol. Vegetables were omitted from the allowed list because they were either found to hinder the protocol or did nothing to enhance it. That left a list of 13 vegetable types that help the protocol work to its optimum.

Through the years, efforts have been continually made to try to improve the protocol, which include changing the allowed foods list. You apparently have accessed one of those variations.

We know the protocol works as is. So if you are experiencing issues and are using off-protocol foods, that is the first place to correct. You can try blending up cabbage instead of the cauliflower in the chicken soup recipe. They have a similar flavor.

I've had to deal with various food sensitivities, and interestingly, cauliflower was one of my problem foods. It caused incremental weight gain for me, even though I had no other discernible symptoms.

Thank you, as always, Leez. Indeed, I wanted a quick source on my phone that I could use to make audibles in the grocery store in the event of inspiration. I ended up downloading an app called HCG Diet Guide by Prestige Worldwide. Lesson learned.

Based on this, I'm thinking it may be causing an issue for me as well. I will try to cabbage as a replacement and report back :-)

Cabbage and Cauliflower are both problematic for me in any phase. Even though I really like both, major gains are always the end result, so I have to stay away.

I think I'm in the same boat, although I haven't tried Cabbage yet. I replaced the Cauliflower with Tomatoes and was down 1.2# this morning (fingers crossed). Assuming this isn't just a coincidence or something my body is using to remind me who's in control, Cauliflower was the only variable. Bummer some of these other sites/apps that are there to help don't have the correct information. I'm going to send some feedback in so maybe they will correct it.

Very happy to be on the right bath again :-)

I have always had problems with cabbage since my first round in 2009. I also recall reading people with O blood types may be more sensitive to cabbage, and cauliflower is in the same brascillia (think that's the spelling) family as cabbage. I love cauliflower but it causes me to gain off protocol.

Had cabbage and beef yesterday which caused me to go up 1.8. Ugh. Should have known better. Gonna avoid those for sure for the rest of this round. Hopefully Iíll lose that in the next day or two.
