JenH - I know what you mean about hitting snooze. Some mornings the bed just feels soooo good! Congrats on the loss and getting quickly back on track!
JeriW - I know what you mean about timing water when you have meetings. I’ve been drinking a LOT of water for over 10 years now and I’m in the bathroom a LOT! Congrats on the 40 lb loss and a GREAT start to this round! I ate a bit off P3 today but plan to buckle down going forward! I stabilized very well after my first round and I want to stabilize well again! I’ll be glad to share recipes. I’ll post them in a bit. I guess I should be sharing recipes on a recipe thread somewhere.
Spedie – I’m sure a lot of your weight right now is water. When you get the inflammation down, the weight will drop off suddenly and you’ll be doing a happy dance!  Hang in there and take care of that shoulder!
Karko – Congrats on the loss – doing the happy dance with you!  You’re doing great – hang in there!
    Lovely – Great loss!
Mica – Glad the scale is moving in the right direction. Hang in there, you’ll see a bigger loss one day. I always saw a big loss after a few days of small or no losses. Yes, I tend to beat myself up too much. This group keeps me going and helps me get back on track. Y’all area great!
Joanne – If you’re going to try The Plan, I suggest you check out a youtube video. I’m trying to find out as much as I can before I purchase the book. I haven’t viewed the whole video yet – it’s 22 minutes long. It’s titled “The Plan~~First 14 days. Tips and Warnings!” by YourWebMom She mentions a LOT of things you need to go out and buy at either specialty stores or order online, even supplements. Are you far enough along in the book to know what that’s about? Do you really have to purchase all those things? If I’m going to do it, I’d like to find a thread here or a support group somewhere of people doing it at the same time as me. That always seems to make it easier!
Lisa – Welcome. This is a fantastic, active group. Buckle up and hang on! 
I cheated some today (even by P3 standards). I’ll see what the scale tells me in the morning. I’m going to buckle down and stick to strict P3 for the next 3 weeks! I gotta get back on track!

    Recipes

I've collected some spice recipes over the years. I like to make them up in larger batches, put them in a jar and figure out the measurements for recipes. By using these spices, I can eliminate sugar and starches as well as preservatives you find in many store-bought spice mixes. Here are a few. I have NOT tried the Dry Onion Soup Mix yet. If/when I try it, I would first try it without any sugar. If I find it needs some, I would try adding powdered stevia. The Ranch is a recipe that I've tweaked and multiplied the quantities for storage in a jar and use whenever I want to mix up a batch. I added the Fiesta and Salad Dressing notes last night. I used whole milk cuz I usually have that in the fridge. It's still quite thick but I wanted this batch to double as a dip for veges and a dressing for salad. If you want it thinner, add more milk to your liking. If you just want dressing, try substituting buttermilk for the sour cream or for some of the mayo. Last but not least, the Taco-Chili Seasoning is my own concoction. I used to make separate mixes for tacos and chili. I found I'd run out of one but have some of the other and substitute. They have many of the same ingredients. So, I combined the recipes to my liking and made one mix for both. This is the taco seasoning I used for the Fiesta Ranch. On all of the mixes, adjust the amount to your taste!

    Dry Onion Soup Mix:

    2/3 cup dried, minced onion
    3 teaspoons parsley flakes
    2 teaspoons onion powder
    2 teaspoons turmeric
    1 teaspoon celery salt
    1 teaspoon sea salt
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
Mix all ingredients in a jar, then give the jar a good shake. I’d recommend shaking the jar to mix the ingredients well before each use.
Use 4 tablespoons in a recipe in place of 1 packet of onion soup mix. Store this in a dry, cool place.

    Ranch:

cup + 2 tsp dried chives
cup + 2 tsp dried parsley
cup + 2 tsp dried dill weed
    4 tsp garlic powder
    4 tsp onion powder
    2 tsp salt
    2 tsp ground black pepper

Mix together and store in an air tight container.

Mix 1 tablespoons dry mix with 1 cup mayonnaise and cup sour cream.
Mix up a few hours before serving, so the flavors all blend.

For salad dressing, add 1 tbsp milk
For Fiesta Ranch, add 1 tbsp taco seasoning mix

    Taco-Chili Seasoning Mix

    1 cups chili powder
2 cups minced onion (dried) – or 2/3 cup onion powder
    cup cumin
    1/3 cup garlic powder
    2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
    cup salt
    1/3 cup dried parsley
    3 tablespoons dried basil
    2 teaspoons ground black pepper
For Taco Meat: Add 1 Tbsp seasoning mix and 2 Tbsp water to each lb of browned ground beef
For Chili: Add 2 Tbsp seasoning mix, 1 can (or a little less) Rotel, 1 can water and 1 can Cream of Chicken & Mushroom Soup to 2 lbs Ground Beef

    Recipe X 4:

    6 cups chili powder
    2 - 2/3 cup onion powder
    2 cup cumin
    1 - 1/3 cup garlic powder
    3 - 1/3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
    1 cup salt
    1 - 1/3 cup dried parsley
    cup dried basil
    3 tablepoons ground black pepper

There is a pretty good chance that I will have to go off of hcg. Like now. My drops are almost gone. I was going into the city tomorrow to buy more, but because of some financial issues that have come up... the money needs to go elsewhere. Seven pounds was good for a little over a week's work, but it probably won't stick, even if I do 3 weeks of p3 and then 3 of p4. I'm going to talk to dh tonight, but just can't figure out how we would be able to swing it. I just wanted to give you all a heads-up if I'm MIA for a while. You all are the best support group. Thanks so much for your advice and encouragement. It's really helped a lot.

Oh no! Well that's too bad! I wish u could keep on with the rest of us. I hate how life is so good at getting in the way of our intentions. Well, yes, try to do a good P3 (and 4) and stabilize properly so u get to keep the losses u worked hard for.

So, I bought some cottage cheese to try in place of meat, but even the fat free still had 6 sugars per serving. Ugghhh. Is that acceptable on this phase? That was the lowest sugar of all the fat free brands. It has 12 g of protein per serv.

I also noticed my bagged romaine lettuce had 1 sugar per serving. WTH!

I think all vegetables have some natural sugars. I've had romaine on P2 with no problems. For the Fat Free, they often add sugar when they remove fat - to keep the taste good. I was reading a book that suggests to avoid ALL fat free dairy products because of added sugars and other ingredients. I know you need to cut the fat in P2 though. I'm not a cottage cheese eater. Hopefully someone will come along that has experience eating cottage cheese on P2.

Hello all: Good news - I am down 1.2 lbs this morning so now weigh 172.6. I gained 2.2 lbs on my cheat so have 1.0 lbs to go to get back to 171.6. I am happy the scale is going DOWN.

My shoulder was a little better yesterday. It is still not right, but at least I no longer feel the need to take anti-inflammatory. I still have to take it easy with it.

I am on VLCD11 starting today. I am down 5.6 lbs net - also lost the 2.4 lbs gained during the load. This is not stellar. I'll take it, though!

Hope all have great losses today!

Good morning - thanks for the welcome.,
Spedie - I have been using HCG for 1 1/2 year (off and on...) started at 180. Now at 147. Had shoulder surgery in sept and again in dec. (drugs and hcg don't go well together) lol. Should be the last round... .
Down 3.2 lbs this morning and put me back into my LIW. Doing a short round.
Looking forward to hearing how all are doing. Have a great day!

Lisab: I also had two should surgeries about 3 years ago and I had them 3 months apart. I had torn both rotator cuffs. It was rough having them operated on so close together but they are so much better now. I can actually sleep on my side on them and couldn't before. I suffered with those injuries for 5 years before I could afford the deductibles and time off work. I ended up having more damage than just the tear.

I hope yours do as good as mine have. I would say it took a good year for them to be back to a degree of normal.

Great job Spedie! You're recovering well and will be back to losing "new" weight in just another day or so. Hang in there! So glad your shoulder is feeling better today....

    Awesome loss Lisab! Congrats!

I'm down .8 today to 136.6. This is technically VLCD 27 for me....I had taken a PI at VLCD 23 and then just came back on Monday. I'm so glad to be losing more "new" weight now! Only 7.6 lbs to goal!

LOL....feels like a LOT left to lose, because I know it will slow down soon. Oh well....just going to stick with it!

    Have a great day!
    Jen

Thanks everyone for the awesome encouragement!

    Lisab – Welcome!

Txbluebonnet – thanks for the spice mixes! I’ve copied them down to use in the future!

Micha – oh, that really sucks! Which drops did you use? The ones I use are fairly inexpensive (especially compare to rx), but I understand when the $ is really tight, it is REALLY tight sometimes.

    Spedie – yay! Awesome loss!

AFM, D10 and I’m down .9 this morning, for a total of 12.9 lbs. Hubby is down a whopping 14.3 lbs. I’ve been sneaking too much dark chocolate since Monday… I need to cut it out for a few days, at least…

    Highest Weight: 320
    Beginning Weight HCG R1: 292.6
    Round 5 LIW: 218.6

    Total loss of 101.7 lbs

    Hi Everyone!
so glad to see almost everyone doing so well. Doesnt it just seem easy when it's going in the right direction?
I do also notice on days i work out a bit harder, i'm slow to lose for a few days, i know i swell when i work out.. you know the sausage finger syndrome! LOL. then whoosh a few days later you see the results

I seem to be doing really well with fish this round, 2 days after fish i see a bigger loss. Interesting to see what has bigger effects even though the calorie count is just about the same at the end of the day.

today down .4 rounding me off at 156.0 (-12.8 total day 16).... i can see those 140's around the corner!!!!

    everyone have a wonderful day...

    karko
I will end this year healthier, happier and skinnier
