Thread: Apple day didn't break stall!!

  1. #1

    Apple day didn't break stall!!

I have to hold my hands up and say I wasn't following protocol for 11 days. I was combining my veg & fruit and eating over 100g protein. I also had a glass of diet coke, peppers, 2 slices of ham, 3 no carb sausages, 3 prunes and 5 dried apricots and put a tiny moisturiser on my hands over the 12 days.

I lost 12lbs in the first 7 days and then nothing for the next few days when I was off protocol. Then I stuck to the protocol to a T for the next 4 days and still didn't lose. So yesterday I did an apple day.

This is what I had: 1 cup black coffee and 3 small prawns before midday. Then 6 child lunchbox sized apples (it was all I had and they where v small). 2 glasses of fizzy water and 2 glasses of still water. 1 black herbal tea.
Today my weight still hasn't moved. Not even a fraction of a pound!!

Its not near my TOM and I haven't had a BM for over a week (9days!). I haven't eaten today and am going to try and extend my apple day until after midday today but really need some suggestions as to how I can break my stall. Surely I should have some results by now?

    Help!

An apple day is this: nothing at all until noon, then the apples spread out through the day, just enough water to calm thirst. The prawns and extra liquid before noon aren't part of it.

If you do a search on the forum for apple day, you'll find the instructions from Dr. S.

Also, after you have gone off the protocol, you will have a stall. Most people say around 3 days, but everyone is different.

Just stick with the protocol exactly and the stall will end! GL!

Your body is trying to catch up 12 lbs in 7 days is fantastic. Most stall out their second week. In the meantime you are losing inches. Stick with it the weight will come off.

well, I agree with Susan. You can't eat whatever at will and call it a stall. It was a cheat. cheats stop the process cold. Eat as clean as you can. Stay higher on the protein, cut out the melba toast if you haven't already. Read the forum threads to keep yourself informed. Try contacting help before the freak -out--maybe we can help you to cope a little better.

No, it is not uncommon to stall in the second week. Not at all. But HCG and non protocol foods will behave like a load day--for lack of a better word. And the gains show up on the second day--so you may be waiting a while, depending on how many days in a row you were off protocol. I would pull out a tape meausre--check the inches lost. You'll see progress there.

Oh I just reread your post. Didn't know you cheated for that long, yea its going to take a while to get things back to " normal."

Thanks for your replies. I have to say my immediate response on reading them was to let out a huge groan. I cant believe that a tiny little cheat could have such an impact for so long! I never eat the melba toast/grissinni and 90% of what I eat is on protocol. I guess I thought that as alot of others combine their veg & fruit that I could as well and that somehow the tiny cheat like a glass of diet coke one day or a slice of ham wouldnt hurt. Boy was I wrong!

I have extended my apple day to today and Im starving, but it will mean I have covered the apple day properly as I didnt eat or drink before midday at all. I had better see a movement on the scales in the morning or I will scream the house down!
    Wish me luck...

I second what others have said. But also, you need to help your body eliminate, 9 days is far too long. Have you tried an elimination tea, like Smooth Moove, or Magnesium Citrate? Search the forum and you'll find different options to help with the BM issue.

This long out the stall isn't from the cheats. IT's from the very fast weight loss. It may even go on a few more days. Some of that weight loss was water and now your body is gaining back water even as you continue to lose fat. You just have to set your sights on the goal and be immovable in your resolve to stick with it until the stall breaks.

Well yesterday I ate 2 apple's and 1 glass of fizzy water, 3 still waters and a glass of psyllium husks/water. That's it!! This morning I havent lost even the smallest amount. The psyllium husk didnt work either!

Im really upset now, I looked over my old weight watchers record and I lost the same on weight watchers over the same first 3 weeks and ate twice as much! Not sure what to do. I haven't noticed any great movement in my inches either, althought I cant be sure because i didn't measure myself to start with. Does anyone else stay the same for nearly 2 weeks?

I will try to eat a bit more today and give the diet 4 more days. If I dont shift any weight after then I think it will be time to admit defeat even though I had said that this was gonna be the one diet that would change my life.

I really think you should have a cup of smooth move tea. I'll bet the pipes are clogged big time. Surprised you can go this long comfortably. I was breaking out the tea by day 5. Also, your body can't stay at that weight forever on this protocol. It is discouraging but the science behind it won't allow it. Are you hungry? I'm not really hungry at all now so I would stay on it and not let the scale win!

I just did the apple day yesterday and I am done by noon today. You are not supposed to eat or drink anything but your 6 apples and water to quench thirst.... You are not supposed to drink tea or coffee and they can be the largest apples you can find. I was on a plateau for 4 days and just did the apples and I am down 3 lbs this morning!

    Start week = January 3 325 lbs
    Today = January 21 300 lbs

    Congratulations Soni

There is a difference between being water logged and poo logged. You were evidently water logged which is why apple day was a huge success for you
