Woohoo! Down 2 pounds this morning, so I have lost the load weight. This is only VLCD2 so I am hoping for a few more bigger loss days. I can't wait to get below my pre-load weight but impatience has done me in before so I will try to just follow the protocol and focus on that.

I think I'll have some protein a bit earlier today, I'm a bit light headed so hopefully fruit and protein will help.

    Load gain: +2
    VLCD1: -2
    VLCD2: -1.6
    VLCD3: -1
    VLCD4: -1.2

I'm off to Whole Foods to try and buy some grass fed beef. Does anyone know the least fatty cuts i should buy?
I've pretty much been eating chicken, chicken and more chicken for 5 days so needing a change. I'm not a big fish fan so that doesn't leave me alot of other choices. The clinic I'm going to says not to eat beef, but I think they're referring to mass produced, fatty US beef. I know I've read of lots of people here eating beef without any problem.
I'm down 4.3 lbs over 5 days, which for me is really good. I read this thread though and see people losing more than that in a day! I think I just have to keep focused and realize that it doesn't really matter how long it takes, if I stick to it, I'll get there. So far I haven't had much hunger and haven't had any problem sticking to the plan. I figure if I can get through the first few days, I'll be OK. I just keep telling myself over and over again that I can do this.
    Starting R3 June 4

    Height 5'2"
    R3 Start Weight: 136.8

    R1 April 2011 - a Bust. Long story.
    R2 June 2012/P2 for 57 days.
    LIW Round 2 was 115.4
Stabilized just fine in P3 this time. Kept it off for almost a year then fell off the wagon.

Don't worry I never had those big losses but consistently lost about 6 lbs a week (except for my cheat week when I lost nothing). You know what they say about slow and steady!

Went out this morning to go to class and had a flat tire. Waiting for the people to come from roadside assistance and change my tire.

I was glad to see that gaining that much is normal during load days because I gained quite a bit (+7.8#). I couldn't believe it and I was so worried it was too much.

This board is a God send. Thank you all for supporting me and each other, and for being so positive! It really is making a huge difference in my motivation to stick to it!

Hondo1, I did an internet search to find out. It said if one serving has 5g of fat or less, then it is extra lean. I am quoting this by memory, so please check it out yourself - extra lean cuts of meat are eye of the round, top round, bottom round and extra lean ground beef. We BBQd eye of the round and it is yummy! Not filet, but still pretty good!

May try to play with it tomorrow and see if it helps if the hunger continues.

I work out twice a week on a Power Plate...has anyone heard of this? My question is..should I up my protein on the days that I work out? I don't want to stall my losses by not eating enough.
    Hi DRR:
I work out 5-6 days a week, on some days over 2 hours. My training consists of pole dancing 1 hr (I know!), bikram yoga 1.5 hours, hatha/regular yoga 1.5 hours, Body Pump 1hr, and elliptical 1 hr and varies from day to day.

This is my second round and I have never up'd my protein and felt fine. It's really about knowing your body. You are on Round 2 so you already know your body. If you feel you need an extra once or two of protein do it.

Last round we had a marathon runner who was increasing protein by 2 oz. She still had incredible losses but she was training reguarly. Plus she was a long time runner, so her metablism was very good and she was a lean body type to begin with (none of those properties I possess! )

You shouldn't be hungry. Your dosage is most likely off. I am not sure what you are taking but post it here as a question and one of the vets will help you.

By day 3 of VLC you shouldn't be that hungry. You probably need to adjust your dose a little. Also I weigh once in the morning and that is the weight for the day. If I step on later no matter what it says it doesn't count. Only the first weigh in, keeps me sane that way.

Oh my!!! WARNING: some may consider this rogue....BUT...I just made Ranch Dressing and am SO excited for lunch because it is AWESOME! You mix cottage cheese (I used like 3-4 TBS) with 2 TBS milk a whole bunch of spices (dill, parsley, onion, garlic, salt) and water (or chicken broth) to desired consistency. I made it pretty thin so it goes farther. It is AWESOME! It made about 5 oz worth. So, I'm thinking I can have the jar last about 1-2 weeks if I use it ever so sparingly to just add some flavor to my salads. My only fear is that my cottage cheese and milk were NOT fat free. But, again, hoping to not see much of a difference since I will be using so little.

Hi Hondo: I typically do an eye of round and trim the fat from the edges. It will look like a cylinder about 3 " in diameter and may have fat or almost silverskin on the outside.

I slice this into round and make 3.5 oz steaks. I also slice it into strips and stir fry with asparagus (what I had last night). It is very lean. Should you try to get ground beef you want 90% lean or higher. Wegmans here carries 95% and I add water to it to give it something to cook in since it's so lean.
