Has anyone in Phase 2 ever...

    Hi,

I am currently in Phase 2 VLCD27 and I have lost about 21lbs/9.5-10kg. I have had many days where I have stayed the same and not dropped. I know this is normal as your body has to catch up. I haven't lost anything in the last couple of days (gone up a little) and the only difference I made was adding spinach and spices (made a saag like spinach sauce) - seems to have given me a gallstone flair up. I was going to do a high protein day with hopes that it would help my number drop.

I am about half way between my period, do people retain water then as well as TOM?

My dilemma, I am in need of surgery (hernia and gallstone/gallbladder) and need to lose another 12 to 22lbs (5 to 10kgs) and I have a limited time to lose the weight (first week of April). I am trying to work out if I should transition to P3 and P4 and then do another round and hope for the best or if I should continue on P2 until I reach my goal.

What I am wondering is if I do a cheat day or two (sort of a load day) during this P2 with the intention of hoping to boost my fat stores (like what happens to your body when you do two days of loading at the beginning) and then going back on P2 the next day and hoping I start dropping again.

    Has anyone ever done this?

    Bonnie

Fat loading in the middle of a round doesn't jumpstart more losses. It just give you a nasty stall of 3 days or more. Spinach is an odd thing to cause a gallbladder attack. Any diet in general can aggravate gallbladder issues.

I hadn't had a problem in the 3 or so weeks on hCG Phase 2 and then I had spinach for the first time and had issues. Nothing else was different, so I am not sure if it was the spinach or the spices in the dish that I used.

I figured that if I do a cheat day that it might give my weight loss a much needed kick in the rear. I have had several stalls/plateaus during the 3-4 weeks where I was the same weight for 2 or 3 days.

What would you recommend grammy? Would you end the round and then try another one in 6 weeks and hope I lose the weight in time or continue and hold strong and hope I lose it this round?

A cheat day doesn't do that. Like I said, it just gives you a stall that makes it worse. I've seen plenty of people try it. you haven't had a stall if you haven't been at the same weight for 4 or more days. 2-3 days is not an official stall. LOL You've lost really well and would probably lose another 10 pounds at this rate so I'd hang in there if the gallbladder issues has resolved. If it hasn't, then you could end the round and wait until after your surgery.

That's the problem Grammy, I need to lose the weight before the surgery or I can't have the surgery.

You probably need to stay on then. There isn't really time for another round if you stop now. You have to wait 6 weeks before starting another round and you'd need at least 23 days on another round so there just isn't time. If you stopped now, you couldn't start another one until mid March.

I hope you figure it out. Gallbladder issues are no fun, potatoes and pumpkin would flare mine. I was 244 lbs when I had mine out, I had a 2- year stall losing weight because of gallbladder attacks and then went to 226 that month after gallbladder was out.
    Started JULY 2015
    Ended 4 rounds November 2016
    -80 pounds!

I keep gaining 20 to 25 of it back, I take off 5 pounds myself and then I do a round and lose 20 lbs. So I have done a total of 7 rounds. I am on my 8th round, taking the SAME 20 lbs off. ugh. But at least I don't gain 80 back!
