Exclamation Phase 2-Day 2 Gain --Help--

    Hi,

IM on day 2 of P2 and I gained 0.2 this am instead of losing. The only thing I can think of is I had a cup of coffee last night with 1 tablespoon of 1/2 & 1/2. I ate 1 cup of lettuce with 3.5 of chicken breast, I weighted it accurately. I also had 1/2 an apple for a snack. Im concerned that IM starting off wrong, I need to correct this & get to losing or this will all feel like I wasted my time. Im doing 17 units of Hcg injection. Any advice would be appreciated,

There may be nothing wrong, although I know its wildly disappointing not to lose after your first VLC day. Its possible that you developed some inflammation from something you ate during your load. If so, it could take a couple days to come off, but it will and likely with a big whoosh.

If your dose is 170iu, that is somewhat high, but without knowing how your HCG is mixed, I'm only guessing at the dose.

You don't have to measure lettuce, or really any other vegetable allowed, except to make sure your calories don't go over 500 total for the day. I used a digital scale and calculator to check my veggie calories, but with lettuce, it unlikely you will eat enough to need to check the calories.

I doubt the half&half caused a gain. Whole milk is allowed on protocol, so using half&half is not going to change the fat content of 1 T. in a significant way.

    Thanks Leez,

Im taking 17 units of Hcg, not 170 lol. I was following my hcg supplier that said start at 15u for a day & then go up to 17, then end at 20units. Ive always stayed around 20units, never going over that. Im going to cut out the coffee to see if that makes a difference. I also wanted to eat steamed cabbage as another veg option, with salt/pepper/ACV. I have done 4 previous rds and I never had this increase in P2 happen. I need to lose about 15 lbs, and I want to do this right.

If you find that you are battling hunger as your 20 unit dose sets in, you may need to adjust down. If you find yourself experience strong hunger, or if your losses don't start up soon, it can be because the dose is not right this time. If that happens, post and we can help with adjusting.

200iu is generally too high for most people, but some seem to tolerate it.

Units do not equal IU (international units) I'm assuming you are meaning the line you draw to on your syringe. If your 5000iu HCG vial is mixed with 5ml mixing solution, then 17 units is equal to 170iu. We call that a 1:1 mix. Most here on the forums mix at 1:2 or even 1:4 ratio, so figuring dose depends on the amount of mixing solution. That is why we can't determine dose by where you draw to on the syringe.

Cabbage is on protocol, enjoy it freely.

I actually mixed 5000 iu hcg with 2ml bacteriostatic water. Im going to have to order a second bottle of hcg due to always running out towards the end. How much bact. water should I mix with the 2nd bottle?

Did you really mean 2ml bac water? Or is that a typo? I haven't encountered any one recommending a mix more potent than 5ml with 5000iu HCG. That would mean drawing to 17 would be a dose over 400iu, which would most likely stop any losses and well as create horrible hunger.

You should mix at least 10ml bacteriostatic water with 5000iu HCG. That would mean that for a 150iu dose, you would draw to the .3 or 30 mark. Depending on your vial size, you may need to purchase a sterile mixing vial. I usually get my HCG supplies from Formagenix.net.

Mixing this way allows your dosing to be much more accurate, and not as much is left in the needle. Dr. Simeons mixed 1:4 (5000iu HCG to 20ml bac water). Some think the more diluted mixture disperses better in the tissues. I usually mix mine that way.

There is a formula here that you can use to check the math.

I did mean 2 ML of bact. water with 5000iu hcg. So im getting way too much hcg? I still have some bact. water, should I add some more to my mixture.

So im getting way too much hcg?
    Sure sounds like it.

Generally, you can't add more water once you have mixed because the math is too hard, but I think you could get very close since only 4 doses have been removed. I'm going to assume you have left quite a bit in the needle so the number is not going to be exact. And since your current mixture is such a concentrated amount, that could cause a lot of problems, so it is worth giving it a try. I'll post back in a bit with my best recommendation for what to add.

Going forward, you would draw 30 (or .3) on your syringe for a 150 dose. After about 4 days on that dose, you should know if you are in a sweet spot or, if not, there can be an adjustment made.

I'll put the math here, so you can check it for yourself. In the end, you will have to decide if you are comfortable with this process enough to change your mixture. To continue with what you have without adding anything 5000iu mixed with 2ml bac water), you would use
    8 units for a 200iu dose
    7 units for a 175iu dose
    6 units for a 150iu dose
    5 units for a 125iu dose

Near as I can figure, in 4 doses of 17 on your syringe, you've used about 1700iu. and about .75 ml of your total mixture. Its not a perfect figure, because you have 3 different doses on your first 4 days, but it will be close. (At 17 units, you were taking a dose of 425iu!) That leaves approx. 3300iu.

If you add 5.25 ml more to your mixture, you will have a solution that is close to 500iu per ml. (3300 divided by 6.5 = 507 - we will call it 500)

Now dosing will be more normal at:
    200 divided by 500 = .4 or 40
    175 divided by 500 = .35 or 35
    150 divided by 500 = .3 or 30
    125 divided by 500 = .25 or 25

Remember, this is not exact. But you should be able to continue with your round with a dose that is close to what we think it is.

If you are apprehensive about the accuracy of these figures, your other option is to mix a new bottle.

Most people do 10ml bac water with 5000iu HCG.

As i mentioned above, 20ml is a good choice too.

Consideration is the size of your syringes and whether you need additional mixing vials or not.

If your U-100 syringe only goes to 50 (1/2cc), you'll want to use the 10ml so that the dose will fit easily.

    Hi,

I have 50ml syringes, how much bact. Water should I mix with hcg, and how much hcg should I take going forward? I'm I should get them by friday, but for now I took 10 units of what I have now, I'm not sure how much hcg was in it.
