    Question about stalling

So when we stall, are we still losing fat? I just find it difficult to understand that for example, a tomato can prevent someone from losing weight with so little calories were eating. If that is the case and we are still losing fat, does a stall usually just mean we’re holding on to extra water weight?

Yes, that's what it means. You continue to use up your fat stores no matter what the scale is saying during P2. (Assuming dose is correct and you are not experiencing hunger, cravings, weakness, or fatigue.

This is a little graphic that I think helps explain what is going on during a stall.

Ok thanks for that visual it makes sense. So I guess that’s why we lose inches during a stall correct?

The scale only measures one thing--weight. That weight can come from fat, water, bones, muscle. You don't get any information about specific changes to any of those in the scale number. So the scale can stay the same while you continue to lose fat. But you can often see the progress through inch loss.

This is very evident in the reshaping phenomenon in P3 where the scale stays the same through the 21 days. And yet, by the end you can sometimes dropped a whole size or more.

Thanks so much for the information Leez. It very encouraging to see inches lost when the scale won’t budge!

And amazing. This whole protocol is almost magical in the way it works. And so much of it flies in the face of the accepted "diet wisdom" that its a constant challenge to trust the process. But over and over---we find out that we can.
