Thread: Retinol and collagen questions

    Retinol and collagen questions

Is there a P2 compatible retinol serum that people like to use when on protocol? My regular cream contains oils and so I would love to find something that I could use (that has retinol).

Can I take a T of collagen each day or would that potentially compromise stabilization?

    TIA!

The T. of collagen is fine, just count the calories into your total.

Mrsstrong, I personally didn't alter a lot of my lotions and creams. I used my Retin A during my round, and eye creams. I did go light on the hand creams, and hand lotions. But I still used a little. And it didn't seem to affect my round. I tried not using hand creams, but in winter, I just had to. I didn't slather lotion all over my legs tho. I did wear rubber gloves when mixing oily dog food for my fur babies or tearing off food for them. I actually used stevia or splenda in my coffee. Some people are really against that. My losses were good, I thought, lost 28.8 lb over the course of round, which was lengthy only due to a 2 week interruption included. I',m guessing p3 will tell the tale if any of this compromises stablization. Right now, P3 day 4 I'm .6 over last dose weight.

Hear so much of people using collagen in their coffee or drink, does it have taste? What's the purpose? For hair and nails?

Yes, hair and nails. Skin too. I have non-oily creams I use so it is not that I have nothing to use. I just would like to use something with retinol. My non-oily creams don't have any.

You had a great round Dubbles. I use Nutregena oil free cream and use it on face neck and hands. @Mrs.strong. I think if skin is really dry you can use mineral oil (baby oil). Hope Leez will correct me if i am wrong. Just do not know about retinol. I have never used it . Not sure what it is for. At my age probably too late. Lol

I've read enough online reviews to know that the odd person has disastrous results with retinol. So I think it can happen. But the positive reviews far outweigh the negative. I asked my doctor about that and she said that retinol doesn't work for everybody, but sometimes the problem is that people use it wrong - they goop it on from day one and their skin freaks out. So I'm careful to follow the instructions carefully.
    It definitely works for me!
I've been using a retinol product mixed with Vitamin C serum from Maryann for a few years now and like the results (i have read about this lifehack in their article). And I've been a fan of hyaluronic acid for keeping wrinkling to a minimum after being introduced to Euercin Hyaluron-Filler cream a few years ago.
I might say about retinol much, but, so far, at 65, I seem to have very little wrinkling and my skin is still in very good condition.
