Shanny, making and cooking heathy recipies is a great way to eat well at home. When my fiancee and I first moved in together, I cooked all the time and would make extra so he could take a healthy meal with him to work and not eat the junk they had there. I made Sunday's my cooking days (I work Monday through Friday) and prepped a few meals for the week. A favorite that works for both of us (program friendly) is my burgers. I mix a lb of extra lean ground beef with chopped fresh garlic, onion powder, salt and pepper. Portion it out on a food scale and cook the burgers on the skillet or Foreman grill till medium rare (when microwaved they become medium to medium well). For me I have one with steamed cabbage and some organic dijon mustard (mustard seed, vinegar, salt, pepper). The mustard actually helps me to curb my appetite for anything else. I do have unsweetened ketchup on hand but don't really use it much. I am not really a ketchup fan. . .lol.

Anyway, I am soooooo looking forward to starting vlcd tomorrow (January 1). I want to start watching the pounds melt away. My skinny clothes are waiting. . .lol.

Hi everyone! Just reporting in! Today is VLCD 5 for me, and so far, NOT including my load weight gain, I've dropped 5 lbs!!! Woo Hoo!!!! I've been posting on the Christmas Eve Loading thread as well with "Liffa", but want to follow along with you all as well if that's okay. This board is such a good support system for me.

Have a great New Year's Eve, everyone!!!! (And definitely "Cheers" to you, Kaelee, for being strong with the family at the restaurant!!!!

My suggestion to you is be open to how long you want to do a round. I'm taking one step at a time, and telling myself to just get to the minimum of 21 days (23 including the 500-cal with no drops). And if I'm not bored to tears with the food and still feel mentally strong, I'll just keep chugging along until I can't take the same ol' food anymore. But of course, you HAVE to do at least get to the 3 weeks for the diet to work properly.

Luckily, my family is supportive of the diet. But you stay strong, and stay on the boards. We'll all support each other through it.

I am going for at least the 23 days and want to go further. I will decide once I get there. Got on the scale today, this being day 3 vlcd, 4 lbs! I am so excited for this! Is it safe to work out? Not much, as in low impact or treadmill during this?

People who haven't used HCG or educated themselves on how it works are very critical so I just don't bother explaining anymore. As a breast cancer survivor with a totally screwed up metabolism from five years of treatment, this is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I'm mid-way through my second round now - I dieted right through Christmas with only one small cheat (I just had to have a little serving of homemade stuffing on Christmas Day). My plan is a bit off protocol (800 calories a day with a greater variety of low-carb veggies and low-fat proteins) but it works for me because I can stick to it. I love this diet!!!

    Hello!
Mind if I join up? Today is my first VLCD. I did 2 rounds back in 2010 and had great success. I need to lose a few (ha!) pounds that crept back on...IOW, I need to lose about 50 lbs, so will be doing 2 long rounds. I look forward to getting to know you all.

I have only ever told my hubby (DH) and my BFF. To me it is very private and really, the proof is in the pudding. We all know how hard we have tried to lose, and how many "diets" we have thrown money at. This is real. It works. Keep it to yourself and let them wonder!

    Hi Mary;

I had a bit more than 50 pounds to lose and it seemed a bit overwhelming when I started. You've been successful before so I'm sure you can do it again. Glad to meet you!

    Hi All!

Its been awhile since I have been on the forum. Took 2 rounds at the beginning of this year and lost about 50lbs. Since then, I have transformed my diet. I love what I eat and I am always full. In the last month, I have been extremely stressed and noticed I gained about 8 lbs. It has been my intention to take another 25 off and with this gain and the new year, I am jumping in the ring again! Took my first dose and started loading today. I am going to party load tonight and recoup my hangover with some naughty meals! Wednesday will be my first VLCD. I will buy my foods today and weigh the proteins out. LET THE MELT BEGIN!!!!!

    Ladies,

I cannot thank everybody enough for all the support and encouragement you are showing on this post! I was truly not expecting so many people to be so open and motivating! It is so amazing knowing that I have so many other ladies out there who are in the same boat as me! In the past two days I have shed 4 pounds! Only 31 more pounds to go before I reach my goal weight! There is definitely no turning back now that I have already started to lose!
I have so much motivation this time to keep me from going forward, and you ladies are a huge support system for me now!

At the beginning of the thread I asked if anybody else has had any negative reactions from family/friends because of the vlcd they are on. The new question is, what is your inspiration for losing weight?

    Happy New Years everyone!!!

My inspiration is simple... I want to be back to 'normal'. Prior to my cancer diagnosis / treatment I was very active and never had a weight problem (yes, I was one of the lucky ones). Cancer took a lot from me... a breast... my hair... my figure... and I want it back! After 5 years of hell (6 rounds of chemo and 7 surgeries), I'm ready for the final hurdle and that is finally getting rid of the weight that has been weighing me down. In 2013 I will get back to being me!!!
