    Scallops

Are scallops allowed in P2? I’m so sick of just tilapia and chicken. I’m afraid to do beef because my losses aren’t that great with it.

From the protocol menu list of allowed proteins:

    veal, beef, chicken breast,
fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp.
Scallops are like clams/oysters. Not on protocol. It can be confusing, as people seem to think they are a white fish. People have reported they have used it successfully, but its not on protocol.

Fake scallops are usually made of punchings from shark or skate, also not white fish.

Shrimp might be a not too pricey option to get some variety.

Thanks, Leez! I’m going to scout out some lobster or crab and get the good stuff. Knowing that I am going to have variety this weekend renews my motivation.

Scallops are a non starter for me. Every time I have eaten them I had a huge jump on the scale the next morning. Lobster is great but it is difficult to portion since the shell is so heavy. It is so good that you just want to keep eating so be careful. Same goes for king crab legs. Shrimp seems to be the happy medium for me. I usually boil a lot of shrimp, vacuum seal individual portions and freeze. They thaw quickly.

I settled for shrimp as well. I ate them the other night and no issues. I’m glad i didn’t get the crab or lobster cause i would be tempted to keep eating beyond what’s recommended lol

Natalie, and lobster and crab without melted butter, I think I'd rather just wait until I can eat together. But I totally understand getting tired of the tilapia and chicken--though both are very good with seasoning. Good luck with your protocol.

I crumble my ground beef when cooking, put on paper towel, put in small screen collander and rinse with hot water to rinse all the grease off.. Works really well to bring calories lower.

Me and my wife did Shrimp, Halibut and Crab. Both are super tasty and different hit then just chicken.
