Slow Weight Loss Week 1 or... Overreacting?

    Hello all,

Itís another one of those posts..complaining about slow weight loss during week one. Let me preface this with I am a 28/F, healthy aside from being overweight (no medical complications). Iíve done a few rounds of HCG in the past and have been incredibly successful with 25lb + losses. So I have an understanding of how things work for me and what I need to do to succeed. (Btw, it is Ramadan so I am fasting during the day, but Iíve had no issues with IM fasting and HCG in the past)

This round seems to be oddly different for me. I have barely lost any weight, which is not normal during my first week.
This is how my week has gone so far:

Monday (LD1): 193.3 - Totally forgot what I loaded with
Tuesday (LD2): 194.2 - Only ate one small pie of cauliflower crust pizza and drank 4L of water
    Wednesday (VLCD1): 194.9 - Made a chicken soup with spinach (Used a chicken broth)..drank 3L of water
Thursday (VLCD2): 193.4 - Baked chicken stuffed with fresh spinach with fresh spinach and cucumbers on the side and one apple. 3L water
Friday (VLCD3): 192.1 - Tilapia filet with side of fresh spinach and cucumbers.. 3.5L of water
    Today (VLCD4): 192.2 - Havenít eaten yet

These are all my typical habits, aside from the broth, during P2. Iíve had no issues with any of these foods. Itís my normal intake of water (this is how much I drink even when not on the diet, usually more). I am taking injections mixed with 2ml of water..so I am taking 7 units per day.

I donít know what I am doing wrong as I am doing nothing different than past rounds..itís a bit frustrating, but I am determined to at least give it three weeks...

If you are not hungry, then your load was sufficient. But it seems light from the few details you give.

2.7 pounds loss over the first 3 VLD days is lower than most experience, but still nearly a pound a day, so it may end up being fine in the end.

Could you give more details on your HCG mixture? Number of IUs HCG mixed with how many ml bacteriostatic water? Just to check what dose you are taking.

Hi, thank you for responding. I am not hungry at all. I am in a high level of Ketosis, if that matters at all. I am taking ZyhCG (Pregnyl) 5,000IU with 2ml bacteriostatic water. I am injecting 7 units of that per day.

I wondered if that was the case. That is the most potent mix I've ever seen used. We actually think the ratio most suppliers recommend (5000iu to 5ml bac water) is too potent. We recommend 5000iu HCG mixed with 10ml bacteriostatic water or even 20ml. The 20ml would be a 1:4 ratio, and its the one Dr. Simeons used.

The reason we recommend more dilution is that some gets left in the needle, and the more potent your mixture is, the more product that represents, making it harder to get an accurate dose. It also makes it harder to change your dose if that becomes necessary.

But once you have mixed and drawn out a dose, you cannot add any more liquid at that point. I encourage you to consider upping the water next time you mix. You can figure out dosing from this mixing formula chart: https://hcgdietinfo.com/formula-calculate-hcg-dose/

So your current dose at that mix is 175iu. That is a little high, but good that you have no hunger. A dose too high can cause hunger and poor losses, but sometimes poor losses can be the only clue. A normal dose that works for most people is 150iu or 125iu for comparison.

In my last round, I had a loss of 6.6 pounds for the first week. One of those pounds was lost after the second load day. Although some will lose 8-10 pounds the first week, that often includes 2-4 pounds load gain loss, so you really aren't that far behind in daily losses yet.

Ketosis has nothing to do with how HCG works, so it is not relevant. You will lose at about the same rate whether you are in ketosis or not. The two fruits allowed are enough to keep most people out of ketosis, but some do experience it.

Thank you for that response. I guess I never thought about it because Iíve used the same mixture and doses in the past and it never affected my loses. I guess it wasnít going to be like that forever.

So would your suggestion be that I go down to 150 and see if that helps? Tomorrow is my off day so I can switch it up Monday.

Thank you again for your help.

I think that is a good idea to explore. Especially if you have no hunger at all on the skip day. Normally on a skip day when your dose is just right, you will have a little hunger by evening (nothing you can't ignore). If you don't have even that, then you may benefit from lowering your dose to 150.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate this. Will keep you updated!

    So hereís my little update:

    VLCD5: 189.9
    VLCD6: 189.2
    VLCD7: 188.4
    VLCD8: 187.6
    VLCD9: 185.8
    VLCD10: 185.5
    VLCD11: 185.2
    VLCD12: 183.6 (Today)

Even though I havenít had a big whoosh (largest overnight drop was 2.3lbs, not bad) my weight is still going down at a steady pace. Itís not what Iím used to with HCG but itís working for me. And an average weight loss of about .94 is still very great.

Iím in this for the long haul and just hoping to hit my goal of -30 this round. Still have a little over 4 weeks to go, so thereís plenty of time.

Thanks for all the help! Will do a last update at the end of P2.

Glad you are seeing success. Did you end up dropping your dose after the skip day?
