Thread: Started Phase 2 today -Parker

  1. #37
Hi Ladies, Just checking into our extra small but mighty group .

Parker? How are you doing??? I've been thinking about you and sending positive energy.

I was up a pound today. Yesterday I was able to skip the cake at the birthday party, but we ended up staying out until after midnight so I had to eat out. I ordered shrimp, but they were battered. Even though I peeled off the batter I'm sure they weren't protocol, nevermind the martini. Today I'm back on the wagon. I have cheated more this round than any other I have been on, but I"m doing my very very very best to stay true to the protocol and not beat myself up over mistakes. Yesterday could have been a disaster and instead it was one drink and some shrimp. Celebrate the small victories I suppose.

    Hope everyone is doing well!!

    Hi 3rd,
Your numbers look great to me...11.8 pounds in 2 weeks. I just get so shocked that I can wake up and see a 2 pound loss. I think about the hard day tho---and overall it is so worth it. Plus, I feel like I'm eating so much better. Also, that fact that our bad fat is being used again as energy is cool (I'm a biology teacher!!). So, I think you are doing great! This is my first rodeo with this HCG and I am using ones from the health food store. They certainly are doing the job so far and I've been pretty lucky with the dose.

For 2 days now I have had chicken, cabbage, for lunch and dinner. To night I made a 3.5 oz Hamburger on a bed of lettuce and grilled onions. It was yum! But, I'm having a hard time with WHAT I can eat in addition to the chicken, cabbage, hamburger, apple a day, strawberries. Can we have blackberries? ALSO, I am really missing my coffee with hazelnut creamer. Is there any substitute---that was my morning wake up on the commute!! I have found that tea with stevia and a lemon wedge is a treat and I drink 2 large glasses of that a day. Hope that is not bad. I have not bought the melba toast so I may not even be hitting the 500 cal mark.

Headaches are better today. Did have to take 2 tylenol around 9 am. I was feeling great in the afternoon; had some energy!

    Nice chatting with you

    Hi Parkermj,
Thanks for the welcome. I am big on support and learning about this program and seeing the progress of everyone who struggles with their weight. I am looking to get fit after I drop some weight. I'm wondering once we finish the P3, how are we able to bump up calories without gaining? I still need to research that some, I'm sure there is a lot to it.

What all are you eating for protein, if you don't mind me asking. As far as numbers and programs I've been on, this one is golden. Totally puts me in a great mood when getting on the scales, a feeling I have to admit has always been torturous for me. I fear though that my body with become accustomed to this 500 calories and then go into starvation mode. The only thing that I can think of is the hcg is doing something besides a fantastic appetite suppressant. I am really working on trying to forget the 'good stuff' and train myself to eat good and healthy. it is a feat. I'll tell ya tho, this diet has me scared to even think about any kind of sugar!

PS your day 10 cracked me up!! I totally know the feeling
    Have a great evening!

    Hi Ladies!!
    Thank you for your thoughts!!
Its been a really hard weekend - a patient of mine committed suicide late Saturday night. She had been suffering horrible depression and it over took her.
I struggle with things like this - in my field, it happens more than I like to think about. In addition to the obvious "what could I have done?" (nothing. I had no idea she had gotten worse) I find myself wondering about how I spend this time I have in the world. Do I make a difference? Do I love the people that matter enough? DO I prioritize the right things?
My patient mattered. She was a good woman, with love in her heart and faith and support - but she couldn't feel it. She felt alone in a crowd of people who loved her. She would talk about how isolated she felt. How she couldn't feel hugs, or compliments...despite the deep love that, I know, her family and friends felt for her.
I don't want to ONLY value myself when the scale reflects a "good number" or berate myself for looking for comfort with food (something that is consistent and faithful). I want to learn to be consistent with myself -to care for myself above everything, because, really, that's our only true "net".
I do NOT compare my weight issues with my patient's suffering - but I am trying to reflect on the way I live my life.
I want back all the hours I spend in the mirror pinching my fat, criticizing myself, hating the way I look. I want to give those precious hours to her, tell her to nurture herself...have her see herself through my eyes.

Sorry for the downer post - but that's what has been on my mind.
Be kind to yourself ladies. It is NOT about the way we look.

((((((((((((( Parker ))))))))))))))))))))) just a great big hug for you!!! Glad your numbers have taken a turn for the better .

I'm in a bit of a slump. I've had minor cheats the last 3 days. Weight has stayed the same (no gain thankfully); but somehow I got uncommitted. Amazing how that happens. I haven't even been hungry, but once a bit of sugar hits my blood stream it's like I'm heading straight for a sugar binge. I'm disgusted with myself at the moment, but trying to stay kind and remind myself that it's about overall health not appearance.

atkhorse: Stevia makes a liquid hazlenut sweetner. Some of the ladies swear by a few drops in their coffee each morning. It might get you through. I ordered a variety pack from amazon (chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, cinnamon, peppermint, etc..). I really enjoy the lemon stevia! Hope that helps.

I'm needing motivation to stick with this for the next month. I know taking the shot and cheating is terrible for you, I wonder why I can't seem to keep it together? Does anyone else struggle with will power like this?

    Thanks for listening,

    3rd -
At every turn I think how similar our "diet journey" is. One of the things that I really like about HCG is the IMMEDIATE results and motivation I get from week one losses.
If I was an easily motivated person with no food cravings and portion control - I would not be at a BMI of 35!
I completely understand the slump you are talking about.

HCG is a great diet - but it does not deal with the emotional components of eating, it does not address the years of low motivation or follow through that many of us have been through - so it is 100% reasonable that those areas stay difficult for us.

What's that saying "you need 21 days to change a habit??" - for me its more like 60 days. And I have been struggling this week also. When I say the scale creeping back up - I thought "screw it. I can NEVER do it right!" - and I am a health advocate and educator. It isn't about what we KNOW - its about what we feel.
Hang in there 3rd. It may take us a bit longer - but we closer than we were 2 weeks ago - and if we keep walking the path FORWARD - we will be fine.

ATKHORSE - How are you doing?

    Hi Parkermj and 3rd,
I get a little crazy on this forum....never know where to look because so much is interesting and i'm trying to learn all I can about this HCG. So, I post on May 2015 and your thread.

I didn't have a loss this morning, but the day went good. Had a bad headache which after 3 acetominophen finally I was rid of. I didn't get hungry tho, not one time today which really baffles me with the 500 cal. limit. I'm not going to complain about that!

I love the immediate results as well. Those first few day after the load, I had a renewed positive outlook. I'm at 193 and haven't been that low in years. So, I can probably stay excited for a while about that. I am afraid after the 23 days tho of gaining back. I haven't studied the P3 yet, so I'm not quite sure the science behind it. I'm going to keep at it. I've heard you can have a 10 day slump where no weight is lost. I posted a min. ago on the May 2015 thread about how the cravings of certain foods I don't think will ever go away for me. I can live with smaller amounts tho. My vice is chocolate and bread/desserts. Maybe I can learn to be happy with substitutes. Oh, and cookies! Love them too!

Thanks for checking on me, parkermj. Keep going with our 3.5 meat/1c veggies---WE CAN DO THIS!!

    3rd,
thanks sooooo much for the tipoff on the stevia/hazlenut. I will look for it this weekend. I'm here for ya.....WE CAN GET THRU THIS--it's really just a small amount of time in our lives. Now, if I was 25 or 30, then this diet might have seemed like eternity, but time flies for me these days! It really helps me to check in with this site. I'm on this thread and May 2015.

And yes, I'm going for overall health--I think it is great that you haven't gained! I had bought blackberries on Monday. My co-worker walks by me in the hall and I told him I had some blackberries and his comment was 'watch those, they are pretty high in sugar'--I was like, what? Before this diet, I wouldn't have popped a blackberry one in my mouth but yesterday they tasted like a huge candy bar!! And now, NO MORE, he says (he's the one who got me thinking about HCG)!!! I popped open my cabbage/chicken deluxe meal at lunch and I told my teacher friends, 'sorry guys I have cabbage today' and one said 'I wondered what/who that smell came from--smelled like a huge fart.' (I don't like the word fart, but I kinda got to giggling about it later---about how the meal I wait for smells like that and it's my big meal of the day--cabbage---and it smells like a ****) It's not like we have a variety of choices of what to eat. WE ARE GOING TO LOOK AND FEEL GREAT!!

WEll, gotta go..........Hope the scales are good to you in the morning!

    atkhorse - LOL.
I got the same reaction from my sons when I was cooking cabbage the other night.
My youngest said "what's going on in here? Are the dogs cutting the cheese?"

    Day 17 - 193.4 - bounce bounce bounce

I had planned on a 21 day round - and when the numbers got wonky, I thought maybe a 28 day....
I think I will go for a 21 day and prepare for P3.
I really had hoped to see the 180's... but I knew I would have to go 2 rounds and I think that P3 is the key to long term management.

I did learn - with no question, that I do react strongly to gluten (I had always hoped that it was imaginary). My day 3 binge with Melba toast brought swelling...and since then, my ankles, fingers and face are not nearly as puffy.
So far I have lost 3 inches in my belly, 1.75 inches upper thigh, 2 inches in hips and .75 inches in upper arms. NOT BAD

How long are you guys planning your rounds?

    Parker, Congrats on your loss!
If you had a melba toast binge and gained some weight back, I'm getting worried what is going to happen when I go back to real food....like green beans?? I guess the maintenance part of this diet will solidify the loss. I'm hoping and I don't know how this guy thought of the science behind this diet but he had his thinking cap on that day!

So, are you going to do the 21 day round? If so, do you plan on doing another round after P3? I will have to read the time frame on doing another round. Like you, I started at 200 and would love to see 170 or 168!! I am 191.6 today! I should calculate inches as well. I will do that tonight! I had planned a 23 day round but now I'm thinking I might go 40 or reach 34#. Man, if I could lose 34 pounds I would be one happy chick!!

    Keep At It!
