    atkhorse -

My plan is to go P3 for 3 weeks, P4 for 3 weeks - then start again. I think those are the recommended time lines..
When I say a melba toast binge...I mean I went a little. Not 2 or 3 pieces crazy - like half a box crazy. But that's not why I bounced around in the 2nd week - I think that was due to not eating enough protein and retaining water. In my experience - you HAVE to get in enough protein.
In P3 - you monitor your weight really closely - if you gain or lose more than 2 pounds - you do a steak day. So, Im planning on being rigid about P3. From what I hear from the experts in this forum - that is the phase to reset things.
34# would feel amazing! CONGRATS on 191.6! Any day now - you will see the 180's!!!! Go for it!

    Hi gals -

    Numbers:
    WT pre loading: 204.6
    WT after loading: 206.4 -
    Day 1 - 201.6 -4.8!
    Day 2 - 198.8 -2.8!
    Day 3 - 199.4 + 0.6
    Day 4 - 198.6 -0.8
    Day 5 - 196.0 - 2.6
    Day 6 - 195.8 - 0.2
    Day 7 - 196.8 +1.0
    Day 8 - 195.8 - 1.0
    Day 9 - 193.8 - 2.0!
Day 10 - no weigh in, late for work
Day 11 - 195.6 +1.8 (not surprised - back on the horse today!)
    Day 12 - 197.8 +2.2 ACK!!
    Day 13 - 195.4
    Day 14 - 196.0
    Day 15 - 195.3
    Day 16 - 193.0
    Day 17 - 193.4 - bounce bounce bounce
    Day 18 - 192.2

I am BORED with my food choices right now. Deeply bored. More cabbage tonight and a nice piece of steak. WATER WATER WATER.
Im craving eggs - which I know is an OK substitution - if used infrequently....but now that the weight is SLOWLY moving in the right direction - I am a bit nervous.

I fellow poster said that Granny suggests no P2 less than 30 days - so I am pushing it for 30days. I really want to stabilize in P3. I think I can do it - I am really enjoying NOT being swollen (which I think is from the gluten)..

    Hay Parker,
great loss for today! I moved the scale .8 down!
I am thinking I will go the 30 days then and thanks for the note. Then do the P3 and P4.
I am enjoying not being swollen as well. The gluten is bad for me. I'm kinda bored too with food choices so tonight it's the Japanese salad dressing and chicken/salad. Right now it's the almighty cabbage and chicken with an apple later and I need toget the melba toast incorporated into this diet.

    Have a great Friday!!

Why would you want to get the melba toast in your diet??? It's FULL of gluten and you said it's bad for you.

Welll, Scotland, that is a good question. I just thought that since I was eating 500 calories it might not be as bad. And, I was also thinking the melba toast has some quality (however so small and I don't know what it could be) in the diet protocol. Does it help to move the fat in some way along with the other options to eat??

If it doesn't, I'm not going to get it because you are right, it is full of gluten. Thanks for reminding me!

NO, it doesn't help move the fat away at all!!! The flour back then was SO VERY different!! Like I've said before, even Grammy recommends to keep the melba out as we don't need the gluten, it's so processed now a days

I ate more protein to make up for the no melba….hope this helps!!!!

    Keep up the GREAT work!!!!

Scotland, this helps tremendously! Since losing the 13 pounds, I feel so much lighter and not puffy. I sure don't want to add puffiness! NO GLUTEN. Thanks!

SURE, glad I could help!!! I've been gluten free for almost 8 years as I'm totally gluten intolerant (AS ARE MANY OF US)!!!! You don't have to have celiacs disease to stay away from gluten, like I said…many of us are just plain gluten intolerant.

    Hi Ladies,

I'm back on track. The beginning of last week was pretty much a bust and I ended up gaining back 4 pounds. I've lost 3.2 of the 4 so I'm heading in the right direction. I just took a little detour. I do love being on the HCG, as yesterday I ate mostly on protocol and still lost a pound and even with the bad week, I"m still down a little over 10 pounds in 3 weeks which is something I haven't been able to do on WW for 3 months. Keeping my eye on the prize!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. YOu're all doing terrific! I'm looking foward to seeing great numbers on your scales

At every turn I think how similar our "diet journey" is. One of the things that I really like about HCG is the IMMEDIATE results and motivation I get from week one losses.
If I was an easily motivated person with no food cravings and portion control - I would not be at a BMI of 35!
I completely understand the slump you are talking about.

HCG is a great diet - but it does not deal with the emotional components of eating, it does not address the years of low motivation or follow through that many of us have been through - so it is 100% reasonable that those areas stay difficult for us.

What's that saying "you need 21 days to change a habit??" - for me its more like 60 days. And I have been struggling this week also. When I say the scale creeping back up - I thought "screw it. I can NEVER do it right!" - and I am a health advocate and educator. It isn't about what we KNOW - its about what we feel.
Hang in there 3rd. It may take us a bit longer - but we closer than we were 2 weeks ago - and if we keep walking the path FORWARD - we will be fine.

ATKHORSE - How are you doing?
So nice to know I'm not a lunatic. My problem is once I eat something bad I'm like "screw it, I already blew it for today". So NOT the right attitude. I'm truly concentrating this time on OVERALL goal, not the immediate results. I'll admit, I'm not being 100% protocol but I'm still losing. Example, today I had shrimp for lunch and instead of straight horse raddish I added a tiny amount of ketchup to make cocktail sause. Does it have sugar? Yep , but it's a diet I can follow much easier. Yesterday I grilled asparagus and did the tiniest spritz of cooking spray on it, is it off protocol, yep; but it's more realistic for me. I just need to remember my 'cheats' aren't nearly like cheats off HCG (if a spritz of cooking spray is a cheat, I'd always be fine).

I picked up a book on cognitive weight loss by Beck. I'm reading it right now. Most weight loss theories rely on behaviorism (think BF Skinner); but this book by Beck is more like the work of William Glasser in Choice Theory. I'll let you know when I finish it how it goes, but for once I feel like the author may be hitting on my underlining problems with weight and not just the numbers on the scale.

Big Hugs............ I'm committing to checking in here every day this week regardless what the numbers are on my scale because it really does help me to read about others journey. Thanks for sharing yours with me
