Thread: Anyone struggled with doing a million rounds and constantly falling off the wagon?

Anyone struggled with doing a million rounds and constantly falling off the wagon?

I did 2 successful rounds of HCG back in 2010. I lost all my weight, 40 pounds, easily kept it off for 2 years and felt fantastic! I did injections I mixed myself and followed Dr. Simeon's protocol to the letter.

I gained my weight back and In the last 2 years I have probably started the injections about 20 different rounds, and I never made it beyond 5 days to 2 weeks. Every time I feel desparation and struggle, like I am locked in my own personal hell. My intentions are ALWAYS to get through the round. I just hate this back and forth battle, and yet I KNOW hcg works! Over the last year, I have developed a fear that I might be hurting my body my injecting hcg so many times. BUT my logical mind always comforts me that its not that many shots over all when I add up 3 days here, 5 days there. My attempts are sporadic but frequent. Please, if you have struggled like this, PLEASE share your story. I know I need my head in the game, I understand that. And every time that is my intention! HAs anyone else out there started a bunch of rounds they didn't finish? Have you ever worried you could hurt yourself by starting and stopping injections?

Thank you for your authentic, honest, responses!

What dose have you been doing? A dose too high can often cause failure like this.

I usually load at 150 for 2 days then on my VLCD # 1, I start at 125. I stay at 125 unless I become uncomfortable and hungry, then I drop down to 110. I almost feel like HCG is becoming like an eating disorder for me. I will binge, fall off the wagon with my shots and as I am eating tons of carbs I find myself thinking "I can just do another round...." Its a vicious cycle. I worry I could be hurting my hypothalmus/pituitary etc.

I can often make it to day 8-ish then I have this strong craving for more protein. I tell myself I will just eat extra protein for 2 days to satisfy my body, but that turns into other foods off program and it is a downward spiral.

I've been watching this forum for a few years and very few people post about multiple rounds and if it could be dangerous, this constant starting and stopping. I have started at least 20 rounds in the past 2 years without finishing, that is not an over statement.

And the worst part of all this? I am a health care professional. I'm suppossed to be a role model to my patients and I am 30 pounds over weight secretly eating sugar/flour in secret. Lots of shame... I just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with multiple unfinished rounds. I just aired all my dirty laundry in the hopes someone can help me break the cycle and finally complete a real round as written. Thank you!

    Hi sk1771,

Always know you're not alone. The HCG diet is hard work, to say the least. IMO the hard work is the mental aspect. I have struggled with binge eating disorder/closet eater for many, many years, and when I first tried HCG and was successful with not one cheat for a 65 day round, I was shocked at my own perseverance. I followed with a few more rounds and lost a total of about 80 lbs a few years ago. I maintained within 10 lbs for several years, losing more in 2014/2015 non-HCG, and then 2016 struck me with a ton of bricks (depression, etc.) and I gained half of my initial weight back - 40 lbs. I was disgusted and disappointed with myself. I decided to try HCG again, since it had worked for me several years prior. I tackled a 40-day round and got through it, but not without cheating. I cheated at least one day of every weekend and one week night. Evenings were always the worst, and I would give in to my cravings. Throughout the 40 days (Dec 2016- Xmas loading - to February 12th) I was irritable, temperamental, hungry, tired, and generally miserable. I recalled this site and began researching, and realized that the core issue was my drops. My mother was on a round with me and she had purchased drops from a supposedly reputable dealer, but they didn't even contain HCG. They weren't even homeopathic. Surprisingly, I finished the 40-day round and lost 28 lbs. I decided to buy my own (Triumph homeopathic) drops for this current round (26-day, which ends Friday) and I have felt great throughout; as in, I have not felt irritable, temperamental, tired, and generally miserable every single day. I have cheated on two occasions, each time on a Sunday night, within less than an hour time frame, with cheese and extra meat and some other carbs. But, I didn't feel guilty. I have been working out hard, 6-7 days/week this round, which I have never attempted during an HCG round, which I attribute to the 2 moderate cheats. Regardless, the dosage and drops/injections matters! Also, my head was in it more so this round, which I attribute to the exercise. Exercise has kept my head focused and happy, and I see a difference physically too. As far as cheating goes, don't beat yourself up. If your head is not in it, do not attempt this diet (unless you feel it's dosage/your HCG). I say this because as a binge struggler, you're counting on your mind a great deal to get through each day. I also continue to remind myself: don't throw away the work you've already accomplished, as it far outweighs a bad cheat. There are many great health plans out there, not just HCG! You're not alone in this battle, beautiful.

It doesn't sound like a dose issue then. You might check out The Fast Metabolism Diet by Pomroy. It's very successful for people, and it's very healthy. I'm sorry you're struggling!

Hi Sk1771, sorry for your struggles. I recently finished R1P2 and what helped me plenty was a book call Weight-loss Apocalypse. It is a pretty short read. Might be available as an audio book...not sure. Anyways, that book actually talks about non-food related issues and how they might effect your eating habits. It deals with the hcg diet and how to get your mind straight so that you can not only lose the weight, but maintain it off. One of the things that are mentioned is that usually later rounds become more difficult to accomplish. I haven't dealt with those issues yet as I am currently on phase 3 but I will probably read that book for guidance when I do start round 2. Anyways, hope this helps you and wish you the best of luck.

Becauseimafatty, I'd like to see you change your name in the forum. Mindset is an important part of losing weight and keeping it off. See yourself as you want to be and don't be so hard on yourself, honey!

WORD FOR WORD sk1771 - you are me. The only difference is that I was doing Pellets instead of injections. No hunger (just the "I'm SO UNSATISFIED I NEED A CRACKER OR 10!!).

Really I'm STILL struggling to do a round... I did my first one in 2012 SO successful I looked great I felt great. Whammo in 2014 did a year of Prednisone where I went so far astray. Anyway - I just ordered MORE PELLETS to start a round June 5. We shall see.....

Wanted you to know you are not alone.

My name was supposed to be becauseimafattyliver because that's one of the main things that I'm working on but in the end it was a little long and liver didn't make the list. Lol. Anyways, I had blood work this Monday so I'm hoping that my cholesterol is down and I've been reading the liver flush book by A. Moritz...very interesting and might follow through with doing it. Once my liver issue is under control I'll change my name to becauseimnofatty(liver). I had actually forgot about the omission since my computer fills in the password info. Anyways, sorry for the long explanation, but the mindset is in the right place. Names not a knock on me, just my latest project..my lifelong project.

Hi Grammy : Glad to see you here. I was very successful with losing with HCG down 40 lbs. Maintenance is an issue. I have not had any hcg for 2 years and so I am determined to lose the weight and stay healthy for good. I am on P1 loading at 222 and motivated.
