Thread: Stubborn Stall

    Stubborn Stall

I stalled during TOM, which I fully expected. However, in the week since it ended, I have lost and gained the same pound over and over. Yesterday was injection #24. I have lost 12.2 lbs. My goal is to lose 10 more pounds. I have enough HCG left for one more injection. I have been reading that 30 days of injections can really be helpful for stabilizing. My question is, should I purchase a new vial and power through, or is this as good as it's going to get? Thanks in advance for your insight.

It sounds like your body is getting ready to release the water it's been holding. It's hard to say at what injection that might start happening though. Long stalls of 10 days with no weight loss are not uncommon. In fact, Dr. Simeons warns that if you are at an old established setpoint, it can take 2 full weeks before you start losing again. But it does happen and the losses start up, often with a big whoosh. During stalls, we are still losing, its just that the water replacement that happens in the emptying fat cells doesn't register as loss on the scale.

I would certainly go to at least 30 injections for stabilization reasons if you can justify the expense. You are just at the bare minimum right now. But really the most you can expect to lose in a 30 injection round is 15 pounds. Some will lose more, but you can't count on it. So considering that, your average is pretty good now even with the long stall. You might need to adjust your expectations.

To me, it seems unproductive to set a weight loss "goal" with HCG. Your body is going to respond as it will. You can't really make it lose faster or differently, so its really the HCG itself that sets the goal. Not that you can't have an idea of where you would like to eventually end up, just that you can't accurately project a final scale result for the current round you are on.

Thanks, Leez. This is whatt I needed to hear. I don't have HCG specific expectations, just an overall weight loss goal. I'll stick it out until 30 days at least. I hope that "woosh" comes along! 🙂

I hope it happens sooner than later, kcx! You've already paid the misery price with TOM and then another stall afterwards, so that should count for something with that elusive wish faery.
