Hi, and I am here, though very preoccupied lately. Getting back in the groove is hard. I have been eating all of anything I want. Have not had the guts to get on the scales. Am doing prednisone right now for an ear injury. Likely will never hear the same out of my left ear. What a shame, I used ear plugs when I shot my son's girlfriend's pistol, but they were not in properly. I hit the target though!!
I will be gone until middle of next week to Atlanta to visit my DH's brother. We haven't been away for almost two years! I'm so excited. Packing today but had to find some "fat" clothes. (Not the maximum fat clothes, thank God!)
Julz, I don't know what to suggest besides Jay Robb protein. I think Faithful used it.
Lope, get back in the saddle Woman! Take it from me. I lost the weight battle after my son was born and for 28 years have struggled. The cost to my health and now pocketbook is enormous!! You two make the decision now. You are still young enough to make a difference. The next 30 years go by like the blink of an eye!
    Eat watermelon.......... not cake!
Happy Labor Day to All. (I know you are there............. here!)

Hi there! Anyone remember me? I sorta dropped off of your radar in February... Life got tough. We had just moved back Oregon (from Florida), we were remodeling our house, lovin' our adult children & grandchildren. Life was good. The whole moving thing had kinda knocked me off my diet. It was difficult to keep it up when driving cross country and then in our new home with the kitchen completely torn apart. Then, on the 4th of February, my dearest friend in the world (aside from my hubby) suddenly died. We had been close since we were 17, raised our children together, moved from Calif to Oregon together, our families vacationed together and at least once a week for 40+ years our two couples got together for dinner & cards. Then she was gone. We mourned, and we painfully watched her beloved husband mourn. Anyway, that's the excuse I used....

Bottom line is, I allowed this to completely derail me. After 7 months of complete rebellion, I'm almost back where I started from last year. And I have no one to blame but myself.

However, this Sunday, Sept 1, I'm starting all over again. Anyone loading that week also?
Who is left of the "old gang" from last year. Moon, I recognize your name, but it sounds like you have been going through a lot. I see Faithful is still here. How about Crystal? Anyone else still around?

    Okay... let's get `er done!!

WOW! Totally surprised to see Cpow back!:D
YAY! We missed you and wondered where you went. So sorry to hear about your BFF
Boo... you gained most of the weight back You are in good company here. Moonbeam and I are struggling too.

AFM, I have gained about 45 pounds back.... grrrr! (25 of it since mid June-oy!) I went back to eating sugar and carbs freely. A handful of candy, cake and ice cream with the family, chips with fresh homemade garden salsa, a few spoons of peanut butter when the cravings hit, burgers WITH the bun, etc... I still feel like I eat healthy. Eggs for breakfast, stevia in my coffee, no juice or soda, salads and protein shakes almost daily, no fast food or alcohol. I guess I just eat too much of my yummy home cooked meals/ baked items and make myself happy with chocolate... it has also been a great stress buster as I'm starting up the homeschool year with all 4 kids (AHHHHH!)

Anyway, I have been tossing around the idea of another round for months! I'd love to lose a quick 20 lbs, but still wondering if I want to do VLCD...hmmmmm?

@Moonbeam: Thanks for checking in. Don't let scale ignorance give you a free pass... Bite the bullet and get on! Sorry to hear about the ear injury =ouch! Years ago, I was deaf for almost a whole day after a Bon Jovi concert... never again! Have a nice visit to Atlanta. I understand about the clothing issue -UGH! I have been dragging out my "fat" clothes too. So depressing. I feel my thighs rubbing, my belly bulging, and my face getting fatter. Let's stop this freight train!!!

@Julz I do like Jay Robb protein, but it's expensive! Is the scale staying stable for you?

@Lopez, Chimonkey, Crystalmama: Thinking of you All. Check in when you can.

Hey ladies I am reading all your posts just don't have the time to reply to all today. I took today off for a 4 day weekend. My mom is coming over soon so we can work on centerpieces for the wedding. We are also going to try out a new place for lunch for the rehearsal dinner. It is a new microbrewery we are considering. I'm doing my spin class 2-3 times a week depending on whether I do it on Saturdays and enjoying it. My weight stayed at 169 during TOM and dropped after and woke up at 167.3 this morning, so thinking that I was just at a set point. I added cocoa crack back in the past 2 days and saw the loss so I think that's ok. I did read about Isopure zero carb protein powder and may check that out for an option. Will let you all know. Talk to you soon!

Hi ladies still plugging along here. Ate out a lot over the holiday, had some vodka drinks and even sampled some beer, and some carb loaded appetizers. Most everything else though was P3 style so just the few indulgences. I saw a 2 lb day after the beer, vodka and carby apps i assume dehydration due to alcohol. I didn't weigh the next because I knew if I needed a steak day it wasn't happening due to spin class, so here I am today at 168.6! Woohoo, I was at 167.3, but I had been at 169ish and 167 was just a couple days fluke I think. I'm using 168.4 as LDW now so I'm good! I didn't do a steak day and I enjoyed some things and was social. I do think spin is helping me a lot, in other rounds when I'd add carbs I'd see huge jumps granted I'm just dipping my toes in. This Saturday is you bridal shower and I am going to have a piece of my cake, I am taking a spin class the morning of so I feel ok about it

Cpow hope your round is going well you don't know me from before but I'll cheer you on!

Hi Gang, I am up to 231.8 lbs today. I will stop back by tomorrow, I think, to really tell you what is going on. Cpow, it is so good to know you are back. Missed you like crazy! Kansas thanks for popping in! Glad to know you are alive. However, the reason I stopped fixing dinner is to ask if anyone knows about this!

    http://ongarciniacambogia.com/

You know I am skeptical about Oz, but my orthopedic MD's wife mentioned this and asked me to check it out. He has lost about 50 lbs in the past 6 months, and it wasn't HCG! My BMI is between 42 and 43 and he will NOT consider doing the knees w/o a BMI of 37! I need to have them done before March and can't believe I would be able to go that far w/o HCG. I don't think anyone knows if cancer is a deterrent to the use of HCG. MD will say NO if she doesn't really know the answer. I wonder what the two together would do?

Thank you for the welcome, Julz. You have been so successful, I'll appreciate your "cheering"!
Moon, good to hear from you. Would like to hear about what's going with you. Sounds like you are having several health issues. Hope things get better.
Faithful, come join me on a new round... It's always helpful to have others in on the "fun"!

AFM - After 2 days of VLCD I'm down 4.8! Good start! I'm finding it difficult to get back into the groove, though. I have forgotten what-all I cooked for us for dinner (Hubby has joined me in this round). I did 3 rounds before, so I'm sure I'll remember what I did as we go along. Can't wait to get back out of my ultra fat clothes! UGH! Nothing attractive about a fat old lady!

Have a great day! Blessings everyone!

    Hello all!
I can't believe I forgot to post last week! We had family in town and my weekend was busy.
Cpow: I believe I came in to this forum as you were leaving. BElieve me, the old gang missed you. Always wondering where you where. I would have been joining you but I think I will postpone it another month. Congrats on almost 5lbs in 2 days
Moon: Hope your ear is better. Enjoy your trip to Atlanta. Thank you for those words--I will not let myself regain all the weight back. It has been hard too main tai. I agree wth faithful - don't give up and get back on track.
About garcinia cambogia--I went to a weight loss seminar at Sprouts, and they mentioned that among other supplements to try. Needless to say, I started taking that and cla for weight loss and ala for my cell regeneration. I don't have a scale so I can't say if I'm losing or gaining. I will get batteries this weekend to finally weight myself again. I feel like I am not gaining though I have been eating in moderation and have been eating carbs. Not working out as much as i'd like though. My mom said it doesn't look like I have gained weight--the last time she saw me was a month ago. A good sign I guess.
    Faithful:
Keep plugging away, I'm doing the same thing. Trying to lose those darn gains! Even with moderate eating, the sugar kills us.
Julz: keep going to spin class. I;m sure its working!!! It helps use up some of those carbs you are eating.
    Mpd" Congrats, it's a start!!
Kansas: Good to see you here again. I've been busy myself and hardly on here. I will get back on track.

Not as much time as I thought, gang.
Here is the P2 idea Cpow gave me when I first started and I used this as a great go to dinner.
Take what pitiful meat you have....... I used ground turkey and brown it, I mean brown and almost crunchy! Take it out of the pan and add chicken broth. I might even use a half of a box. So, use no sodium added and reduce it like crazy, scrapping up the brown bits until you have something like gravy. Now add your meat back with approved seasonings. I like sage and garlic. Stir it around to get the meat rehydrated and after that is done add your cabbage, or onion. I never counted them, but used what I really liked as much as I liked. After that is all done add whatever broth is needed if you want soup, or eat as is and the liquid is like thin gravy. I have mastered......... for the most part the use of xanthan gum. I store it in a salt shaker covered with plastic wrap until used. Shake it into the liquid and stir like crazy until you get the right consistancy. If all else fails, and it is too thick or clumps, put it into the magic bullet. This sounds like more work than it is. Make it often enough and you will get the hang of it. If you use shrimp there is also a concentrated shrimp base, but it may have dextrose in it. I have used clam broth. Anyway I use frozen EZ-Peel Shrimp, and I wring the water out of them with paper towels, saute it in a non-stock pan and do as above. These approaches give me volume.
I wish Crystal was here to tell me that is not quite protocol. We should continue to pray for her and her family as I fear it is her mother's health that is her major concern right now.
Anyone else going to try the garcinia cambogia? I heard on Oz that a high fiber diet can cause a problem, interfering with its action. I will have to take that under consideration with its use. I have not heard about my MD giving the OK yet for HCG.

Lope, thanks for the encouraging words. We had a great time in Atlanta. Let me know what you think of the garcinia cambogia. I want to try it next week.
Julz, I think that 168 LDW adjustment was such a good idea. I expect your measurements will change as you continue in spin class. (inches lost, that is!)
Kansas is in her busy season with produce.
Cpow that is a great beginning! The old gang is not here too much. Lilly and 4MyHealth both got to goal and below and are living happily ever after.
Crystal was at goal but gained a bit with the stress of life, but she and her family were really enjoying time together in their RV almost every weekend. Did you know she moved back to Montana? Great home!
Faithful should still be here once a week or more. We both have gained quite a bit and fight the comfort food battle and she is a great family cook. I got diagnosed with a recurrent breast cancer in February and have done chemo and radiation. I feel great and you know FAITH is central to having a bright outlook. I have had my days of daze, but less than a handful, if you want to know the truth. Praise God! Fatigue got me pretty bad, but that can't be helped. I just rode it out, by the grace of God.

AFM, I was 228.2 today. Down 3.6 lbs this week. That is nice, but it was mostly water bc I got off schedule with my lasix. This weekend will be like loading I guess. We will have a last hurrah until October when I go to see my sisters for a reunion in Va Beach. Can't wait! We haven't been together just to be together alone........... read that no kids, husbands, weddings or funerals!
    Moonbeam- Over and Out!
