Thread: VLCD Day 1 May 15th!! Looking for Buddies.

Glad to see great losses posted! I haven't posted in a couple of days but I have moved down into a lower decade & stayed there for 2 days. However, the other day I was craving protein & fat, I gave in and just at that all day (mostly fat) & lost a pound the next day. I only ate carbs that came with the fat like almonds. However, it probably caught up with me since I gained back .4 this morning. This is completely off protocol, I know! I think one of the reasons I'm having such a hard time is that I'm going under my "set point" & my body is fighting me. I've been around this weight more than half my life, give or take a few pounds, so it's really resisting. But I'm loving fitting into a lower size pair of jeans and seeing the hollow under my cheekbones & my collarbones are starting to make an appearance. Just need to keep these things in mind...

    Have a great Memorial Weekend!

I literally don't now how I stopped myself, but I remained strong! Unbelievable.

I'll say this, that if I didn't wake up with a loss today, I would be screaming... Thankfully my willpower was paid off with a 1.2 pound loss. Getting closer.... I will say though that I think this will be a shorter round rather than the 40 days I was originally planning. After everything last night my wife mentioned how unhappy I seemed and while I think I'm doing well, I'm just coming off poorly I guess...

Awesome, Simon! Send some strength my way. Going to a birthday party tomorrow where there will be pizza. And just remember that however unhappy you seem now, how unhappy were you at a weight you didn't like and how HAPPY you will be when you reach your goal.

Finally was able to stick to protocol all day despite hunger! I was rewarded too with a 2.8lb loss! Still trying to figure out my dose as I skipped today and feel much better. No hunger. Glad everyone is doing well.

Simon - when you eat out don't be afraid to tell them no butter, no oil, etc. Those kinds of things can effect stabilization. So can eating just a little sugar

Good morning! Down another 1.2 lbs. was hoping for 2 lbs since it is the first week though. Skipped a fruit and a Melba toast yesterday. Complete accident and I just forgot. Wonder if it was that? Today I am going to pay more attention. Of course I know it will slow down some.

Hi everyone, I had my first stall. but I think it's because I overate at lunch yesterday after working out for an hour... It felt great to be on the treadmill, however, I think it put my hunger over the top and the extra stuff I had was NOT on protocol as was the meal I had... Basically i had some of my wife's son's chicken wings... 6 of them in addition to my side salad and grilled chicken breast. The added calories from fat and of course the salt they had been rubbed with is also retaining water. Been good so far today, but have a Memorial Day/graduation get together I need to get through.. Wish me luck!

Lost 1.1 which is great even though I strayed a little with a bit of yogurt. I guess that's better then junk. I was trying to get my protein in. Tonight we are going to my SIL's for a party. I'm bringing fruit so I know I can eat that, but she said it was all appetizers. I have no clue what I am going to eat! Hope everyone's weekend is going well

Oh I forgot to tell y'all about these chicken sausages I found at Target. They are great if you need something quick to go to. They don't have a casing on them, no carbs or sugar. Just chicken and seasonings. My Target had Chicken & Spinach and Italian. They are so yummy!! I know that it gets difficult to get creative with the limited selection of foods.

Here are a few things I do:
Sauteed spinach with garlic - usually do this with a piece of tilapia or a steak
Buffalo Chicken Boats - cucumber split in half and seeded, shredded chicken that has been tossed in a little hot sauce (I like Frank's) and pile the chicken in your cucumber "boat"
Spinach, chicken and strawberry salad (I go rogue and use a little balsamic vinegar as "dressing")

I'll post more as I think of them.

mcbutler, I have done balsamic on p2 before and lost just fine. That and vinegar makes a wonderful salad dressing. I also rely heavily on mustard to put on my meats, so that's a great go to. I haven't tried Frank's though. I might have to do that to mix it up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion.

I keep moving forward on this round. I know it's odd, but I'm not weighing. Yes, it's rogue, but since I've done this a few times around, I know which foods/meals work best for me and which make me gain/stall, so I stick to what works and plan to weigh in on my LDW and track in p3. I just can't handle the stress of a stall, or the bumps up on occasion, but I do know that my jeans are fitting looser and that is a good thing!

Last night, my folks invited us out for supper at Ruby Tuesday's. I had already eaten my allotted protein for the day, so I just got the salad bar and had mixed veggies (rogue again!) and no entree. I think that works in a pinch -- there's only so many calories in spinach!
Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.

OK, back in the loss column this morning. dropped another 0.6, but if I can stay true today, I'm feeling a bigger loss tomorrow. We shall see what the day brings though.

Yesterday I spoke about my hour long workout which drove up my hunger and I overate on Saturday... well today, I did another hour, but I split it up to 30 min in the morning and 30 minutes at night with much more success. I'll try for something similar today and hopefully it will be as successful.

Ugh I failed miserably last night at SIL's. Everything looked so yummy! I tried just to have some of the fruit, but ended up indulging. Now I'm paying for it today with a 2.6 gain and bloating. I am so close to one-derland. I just wish I could get it together. Hope everyone else is having success!

Oh no, sorry to hear that mcbutler! This diet isn't very forgiving, but physiologically, there is no way you gained that in fat, it's primarily just glycogen (ready energy in your body, stored in your liver and muscles), and water (what glycogen attaches to). You just need to burn through that and you'll be back on your way to ONEderland! As new as I may be to HCG, I'm not new to weightloss and the science of it so you can trust me.

Yesterday is history, focus on today.
