Weight Different at 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM?

Has anyone every had this happen. My dogs wake me up at 5:00 AM to go outside, I get up go to the bathroom and weigh myself. Then I realize I am still tired so I go back to bed for 2-3 hours more, get up go to the bathroom again, weigh myself and I weigh less? Sometimes a lot less! I am R1/P2/D19 and I had this happen both in P2 and P3.

I am only doing 4 days of P4 before starting P2 again next weekend, that is why I am posting this on the P2 board.

Yes, that happens to me pretty much every day

That's probably why you're always supposed to weigh yourself as close to the same time as possible

Just choose the time that works best for you and keep that as the general "weigh in time"....meaning, don't compare 5 am on Day 1 with 8 am on day 2.

Lost a lot of weight 2011-2013, then completely fell off the wagon.
Back now, with an awfully high starting weight :-(

Thanks, I thought I was dreaming or something. It is nice to sleep more weight off though. :-) I wonder if it has anything to do with getting the right amount of hours of sleep. I go to bed at different hours and get up at different hours. I am going to start R2 this weekend so I might want to be more consistent with my sleep habits this time around.

I really think there's something to lack of sleep/gaining and adequate sleep/losing. I've noticed if I've not slept at least 7hrs, my losses will be zero to a gain but if I have slept at least 7hrs, I will normally have had a good loss for the day. It may all be in my mind but it certainly shows up on the scale...lol

I love waking up at the crack of dawn to use the restroom, weighing, going back to sleep, and weighing again two hours later. Makes me happy to see I lost a few more ounces in my sleep.

Ditto what fourtsixand2 said. I NEVER used that earlier weight.

Thank you ladies for confirming I am not imagining this phenomenon. :-) Another mystery of this unique and incredible weight loss program. If I remember right Dr. S. emphasizes getting enough sleep in Pounds & Inches so he must have been aware of this happening too.

Happens to me too, especially the part about the dogs wanting to go outside around 5 am. I try to resist the urge to weigh at the earlier time if I am going back to bed.

I actually like weighing early and then again later to see how I slept off weight. :-) It was a bit confusing to me though because in pounds and inches it says to weigh yourself as soon as you wake up and go to the bathroom, which for me is when I let the dogs out. I will use the lower weight of course.
