    Where's that Energy Boost???

    Dear Friends,

I hear that other people really get an "Energy Boost" from HCG. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that please! Instead, I often feel a bit weak, slightly icky. I thought I would list my supplements below. In the past I thought that perhaps it was a lack of salt, but I question that because I made chicken soup and used Kirkland chicken broth which has salt in it. I have been having that daily. I will have some pickles today BUT I still don't see salt as a big culprit. Any ideas on what to do?

Should I add a different supplement? Post my very POP meals. It's P2 Day 3 and I already feel a bit weak.

    I take the following supplements:

Vitamin D 5,000 ( I have had the blood work, so this dose was prescribed last year)
    Multivitamin with iron
    B-12 sublingual
At Night: (just increased to prevent the hcg constipation) Vitamin C 2000 and Magnesium Citrate 800
    Probiotics

Anything that you think I should add?
Any ideas to get the energy boost?

    Thank you for your suggestions!

The increase of water consumption that usually happens with the HCG diet can result in an electrolyte imbalance. One of the symptom of that can be weakness. The weakness can also accompanied by a heaviness in your muscles. It maybe that you are low in potassium. That can usually be remedied with a potassium supplement. Try taking one or two of those today and see if that helps. If you don't have potassium supplements on hand, you can take 1/4 tsp cream of tartar mixed in with your water. Each quarter tsp. will provide 125mg potassium. You can do that a couple times a day. (The recommended daily requirement is almost 5000mg, so very safe to try.)

If you are not using a pink salt or other mineral salt regularly, it may help to switch to that from table salt. There is a real difference. Pickles will only help if they are pickled with mineral salt.

If you are dealing with constipation, it is a good idea to switch out your multivitamin for one without iron. Consider that you actually don't need a multi vitamin during P2. There are vitamins stored in the fat cells that will be emptying. Those vitamins will be released as that happens.

B-12. Check to see if the source is methylcobalamin. If its cyanocobalamin, consider switching to one with a methylcobalamin source. It is much better absorbed and especially if you happen to have one of the MTHFR gene mutations, which about half of us do. You might notice an energy boost from the change.

If you don't get relief from the above, it could be that your dose may be slightly off. Weakness and fatigue can be a symptom of needing a dose adjustment, even if hunger is not an issue.

    Leez!
Thank you so much! I will take the potassium now! I really appreciate the potassium advice. I have some 99 mg potassium just wasting away in the cabinet. I will take 2 now and space it out tomorrow. Good to know the maximum is nice and high... probably 400 mg taken as 99 mg 4 times a day will do it?

Also, I forgot about the different salt helping! I have some very pretty pink salt, sitting on the kitchen table in a tall glass grinder. I just need to use it. I remember a few rounds back that did help me. Not regular salt! How dumb that I didn’t remember! Thank you for your reply. When I am not on hcg I really watch my salt as I get puffy fingers from it, so my habit is no salt!

My B 12 is the correct type—methylcoalbumin. I once Had micronutrient testing ( the year I had fabulous insurance) and I can absorb b vitamins really well.

I will check back in with a results update! Thank you so very much Leez! I am so grateful for your wise advice.

Usually just a couple doses are enough to make the difference. You will know if it helping fairly quickly. Switching to the pink salt may keep you balanced going forward after that. And then just take the potassium again if you feel that same weakness. Or you can just do a once a day thing along with your magnesium.

    Hi Leez,

Within an hour after taking the first potassium I was feeling so much better!I am also using the pink salt. I think I will take the potassium once a day. Maybe just one 99 mg potassium a day? What do you think the daily dose should be?

Thank you again! Wow I did not even need a nap today...usually on hHCG I need my 45 minute nap giggle.

    Thank you so much.

    Leez interesting thought...
as you know we do not get Bacteriostatic water in South Africa and if you remember my first round, I reacted to the Sterile water (which I think was old) so since then I have been mixing with Vit B12 and I checked it is the cyanocobalamin type.... Although I am never lethargic on HCG, My neighbour noticed a substantial difference in energy with teh B12.... although I think it is a placebo effect as the daily amount is so little

So glad you got some relief.

One 99mg tab should be fine to take daily. If that keeps the fatigue at bay, then that's all you need.

Thank you SO much for this post. I am on day 6 VLCD and feeling the same as RKTHIN, weak, Hungry, muscle fatigue. HCG dosage is 175iu.
I am 52, eat very healthy and a SUGAR addict, big appetite, menopausal, still on low dose lo loestrin BC to balance hormones. Most of my weight GAIN is in that stubborn midsection. No other weight loss program has helped other that HCG. I have gone to a physician for hCG in the past, but decided to do the diet myself this time. I ordered my hCG thru USHCGSHOTS.com. I’m down 148.8 to 142.2 this AM. Goal weight is 128: I have done HCG several years ago and experienced the same hunger/weak issues and just battled thru it.
My subcutaneous syringes are small so I’m doing my best to align the HCG near that line. When is the right time to adjust HCG dosage? And adjust to what?
I took my first B12&lipo IM shot this AM and hope that helps me feel better overall.

    I’m drinking plenty of water.
Is crystal light - 5 calories okay to drink?
I know Diet Coke is aweful for us and am down to one a day.

I’ve stopped taking my daily emergen-C and ZipFizz and Metamucil because Of the calories.
    My multivitamins are:
Nature bounties multivitamin with extra hair skin and nails, 5000mCg biotin

I wanted to start taking nature vitality natural calm plus calcium supplement to help with magnesium, calcium, and potassium loss. Thoughts?

Lastly - should I space my 500 out throughout the day, 150,150, 150, and 50?

Thanks in advance. I will learn how the posting abbreviations - I’m a newbie to this site

You can check your dose by skipping tomorrow.

If you are feeling better by late afternoon to early eveining, it means your dose is too high and you should drop it starting the next day to 150iu. If your hunger increases after that time, then it means your dose is too low and you would then increase by 25iu.

It is most likely that you need a lower dose, but it does happen that the opposite is the case. That is why you must do a skip day before changing dose.

It may be that a potassium supplement and Natural calm would help with some of your symptoms, but hunger is an indication that the dose is not quite right.

Lastly - should I space my 500 out throughout the day, 150,150, 150, and 50?
Not sure what it is you are asking about.

I love drinking mineral water since our drinking water is filtered and void of electrolytes. Also you can get electrolytes that you can add to your water, not as cheap as adding pink salt but an option.
