Thread: Who's Doing Final Round Starting Late Sept or Early Oct 2011?

  1. #253
    Congrats Laurelia!

AFM, down 2.2 (5.7 total) this morning. So "official" load weight is gone... now just to get the rest of the over LDW to go and see if I can find any VFT this round or not! Still nearly 12 lbs to LDW. Fun fun!

    Morning All,

    Load Day: 163.7
    Load Day: 166.7 (3 gained)
    VLCD1: 168.6 (1.9 gained)
VLCD2: 165.1 (3.5 lost) ...and TOM started... joy joy!
    VLCD3: 162.9 (2.2 lost)
    VLCD4: 160.5 (2.4 lost)

So I stuck to protocol yesterday. Feel fine so far. Waiting to TOM to finish running its course too. We are not a Valentine's couple. After being married 18 yrs and being fairly broke yr around, my DH doesn't splurge on anything. I didn't even cook dinner and was on the couch in my PJs by the time he got off work at 7:30. We get cards for each other and the kids and that is it. Kids get candy too, but nothing I can't live without anymore. Though their constant begging for it drives me crazy. I really don't know how to get them to understand dessert is not a nightly requirement in their lives, but they will go to bed in tears if you tell them they can't have something. It is frustrating to realize I have let them get this way and now am not sure how to reverse the issue without making it a reward and punishment process. Oh-well, time to find the self-help section at the library I guess.

Have a great day ladies! Hope everyone sees respectable loses today!

Hi all. Broke through a stall and I'm down 3.2 for the week. Very happy with that, at this late stage of the game. 9 more days of VLCD to go. We'll see if I can lose the last three pounds. I've got protocol foods ready to go, so I'm hunkering down for the last stretch.

Tangle, I feel for you with your kids. Kids can get as addicted to sweets as adults can get to alcohol. The brain chemistry is much the same. Then there's the emotional/psychological aspect (treat/reward). Some friends of mine who are parents in my very health-conscious town have reported that honest explanation has worked wonders for their kids. They tell their kids what they've learned about sugar and how it affects the immune system, hormonal system, weight, moods. They explain the concept of addiction. And then they start weaning with healthier options: fruit, nuts, dark chocolate treats, etc. Believe me, I know many families who eat Paleo...all family members. Their biggest conundrum is not what the kids get at home, but what are the eating rules when friends invite their kids to birthday parties with all the crud to eat? I know I'm glad I don't have to deal with this issue, LOL, as it's hard enough to control my own eating! I envision you successfully helping your kids learn how to make better and better choices for themselves. :-) Best wishes.

    Candace, what up, girl?

Hey ladies I was checking the posts for some support and came across your group. I hope you don't mind me joining in. I am starting a new round. Today is VLCD1. I have had some issues with mainaining. Well probably some issues that got me overwieght in the first place. I did a short round in the summer that went so-so (kept cheating) and another in Nov. Went well. I do really well with P3 but P4 I am learning. I did try the Leptin Reset and as much as I enjoy Dr. Kruse's work if I had to look at anymore protein in my BAB I was going to scream! (I did maintain eating like that however). That said my rebellious nature said enough and went on a carb frenzie this past two weeks. I know now I need to stay away from wheat. I feel bloated, bad and it sets me up for craving more food. I also need a bit of moderation.
So.......... here I am back again. I am ready for this round unlike the other ones where I resented being on the VLCD, this time I welcome it as I really need a "detox" from my overindulging. It's a learning process and I think for me when it comes to maintaining I need a slightly different approach. I have some ideas but first I will get through this round.
Lauralia it sounds like you are having a great round.
Tangle you always have great losses! When my kids were little I used to do a junk food Friday where we would rent movies and then they could pick out a bit of junk once a week. A bit of moderation so they didn't feel deprived. Maybe with desserts you could have them once a week and let then choose the dessert of the week. I always had cookies around though as I used to bake them and when I bought them I always picked the ones I didn't like so I wouldn't eat them. LOL My youngest is 21 so it's hard to remember those days! Ha. I remember them saying all the time there is nothing to eat in this house. Translation: There was no packaged, quick fast food to eat!
Well I am hoping for a good loss tomorrow morning! I do feel kind of hungry. I still have a fruit though I can have in a bit. I think I am going to haave a hot bath and then call it an early night. My husband and I went out last night for Valentine's and had champagne etc and I am kind of tired today. He brought home a dozen roses and a very sweet card that rather melted me. Happy losses!

Yes, my first round was when we were Mother's Day Loaders! I have kept that weight off for the most part. (Not when loading). In the other round gained 5lbs loading and then lost 10 and that 10lbs is tricky to keep off for me. My fault though. This Christmas we went to Mexico for 2 weeks and I felt amazing and I kept it off easy there. It was when I came back to the cold, dark, winter that I got into my carb overload. I will figure this out. When you know better you do better.

I love the first week. Down 2.2lbs. Great movitator. I never did end up eating my other fruit last night as I when I went to have my bath I started a new book and I got totally enthralled in it. Then went to bed and had a great sleep.

I have a busy day ahead. Have a great day everyone!

    Morning All,

    Load Day: 163.7
    Load Day: 166.7 (3 gained)
    VLCD1: 168.6 (1.9 gained)
VLCD2: 165.1 (3.5 lost) ...and TOM started... joy joy!
    VLCD3: 162.9 (2.2 lost)
    VLCD4: 160.5 (2.4 lost)
    VLCD5: 159.2 (1.3 lost)

Well, so far so good. TOM is still lingering, but other than it has been pretty smooth sailing for me so far. Less than 8 lbs to VFT. I am sure I can make there, just a matter of time and patience! The weekend is coming and I need to get to the store for a few staples this weekend. I am out of a lot of my supplements and not sure which ones I really should have been taking anyway. May stay off them till next payday and see how I do. I need to go hunt up the list of ones recommended and/or allowed during P2. I was taking a lot of ones from LRx minus the Krill Oil. I am drinking all my water and hot teas, getting over 100 oz usually.

Have a great day everyone. And thanks for all the thoughts on the kids. I will figure them out eventually. I will focus on my goal for a little while longer then try to tackle them, cause it is going to have be slower and more gentle and I will need to be able to eat what I am asking them to eat, and during P2 that isn't option for either side of the equation really.

I locked myself out of the house today. The spare key is buried under three feet of snow. Hubby was not answering his phones as he was in meetings. Missed lunch! Waaa! At work there is a cafeteria but nothing there today was do-able. They didn't even have fruit. So I ate at four and not sure if I will or should eat again later in the evening. I guess I will see how I feel.

Little surprised by this but going to try not to stress it. I didn't do anything wrong that I can think of. Will stick to it today and I know tomorrow will be a loss, if for no other reason than I will weigh a few hrs later than normal during the week. Hope everyone has a great Friday and a lovely weekend. It is raining and deary here... but such is life.

Sunshine, that sounds a little too much fun for one day! Hope it all worked out in the long run! And hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Tangle must be an inch day! I think I may weigh in once a week once I get to my second week. I am off to a good start this round and need to keep on going. I woke up to at 2. 6 loss. The five pound load is off and some. I think (well I am hoping) the next few will come off quick as they haven't been with me long! LOL. Have a great day.

    VLCD12: 154.2 (.7 lost)
    VLCD13: 153.9 (.3 lost) (14.7 so far)

Ok, so that is fair, though not as exciting as I hoped. I can't complain since I had more steak than I needed last night and probably more fat since it wasn't the leanest cut either. But it was good. Back to chicken and grapefruit today and the rest of the weekend really. Still 2.6 to LDW, but maybe I can get a 1lb drop tomorrow and be super close! Getting my hair done tomorrow for the first time in a yr. Apparently late Feb is my time to get my hair done. I have done so for the last 3 yrs nearly. The grey is getting a little annoying and I want to look my hottest by my birthday next month and grey is not invited!

Saw "This Means War" with the DH yesterday! Funny, Sexy and Action packed. Enjoyed it a lot and he did too. We don't see many movies together, but we seem to been picking all the right ones when we do.

Have a great weekend everyone! I will check in when I can. Lots going on!
