Thanks, Love, for stopping by. I was just thinking of you when I made a strawberry "smoothie" yesterday. So good!
Hello All!!
Just stopping in to say hi. So very jealous of all you losers. But happy that you all are doing so well. I haven't been eating horrible but not great either. Still steady at my LDW and a pound above. I'll take it. Still haven't heard from my dr., she must not think my heart issue is all that bad. If I don't hear from her by the end of next week I am going to go ahead and do another round, with or without her blessing.
Keep up the good work!!! Blessings to you all!
VLCD38 - 168.2 (+.2) Will end R1P2 at 26.4 pounds lost!!
Have maintained at or below my LDW all through P3 and P4. Hope to be able to start R2 very soon!
Thanks, Love, for stopping by. I was just thinking of you when I made a strawberry "smoothie" yesterday. So good!

Ideas, anyone?
Several days ago, I could joke about being mad and depressed about losing so slowly. Now, it's no joke. I have lost 0.8# during WK2. I don't think that anyone would argue about 0.8 in seven days being a tiny loss during P2 on Dr. S's diet. Plus, I did an Apple Day in that week. Full disclosure..I helped myself to a handful (about 10) of dark chocolate almonds yesterday but that is it for cheating. It was an emotional thing. I figured, "Why not? I'm not losing anyway..." I went right back to eating clean, though. For most of P2, I had issues with no 'output' but that has improved some. TOM is one week away, now, so it wasn't a factor. I just don't know why I haven't had good losses.
I am 5'6" (ok, sometimes measuring 5'5") and I'm at 138.1#. My goal is 125 and I know that is realistic for me. That was my weight right before my first pregnancy 16 years ago. It can't be that I don't have any more unusual fat. It can be readily seen in places like my back(eww) and muffin-top/spare tire(yuck). Sure, I only have 14 pounds to my final goal. The same thing that Karen brought up before. Easy, right? Not so much. Even with hcg, apparently.
One theory that I've concocted is that, since I've been exercising daily, I'm building lean muscle. Of course, muscle weighs more than fat, so I'm seeing a stall and gains because of new muscle.
(Here is the part of this fantasy that I like, best.) After this slight gain, the fat-burning muscle goes to work and I'm cooking with gas and the fat 'melts' off!
At this point, I can say that I've lost an average of a half a pound a day. No big deal for a woman. What remains to be seen? Hopefully, I'll just start losing again. If the stall continues..? I don't know.
Wow! I just read my post and it sounds like the biggest pity-party ever! Sorry guys.

Awwww, sorry Pookie. But I do think your exercising may have something to do with it. Did you exercise in R1?Try cutting out exercising for a few days and see what happens. Are you eating extra fruits? Melbas? But me thinks its the exercising.

kibear - I know what u are feeling. I am at 153 and cant seem to go under it. Over yes, I can do that with no problem. But my body is very stubborn and is making me work for these last 13 lbs!
So just keep with it. You ARE losing, just not very fast.
Thanks for the support, Kachse. I will stick with it - at least until the minimum which is about five days from now. I guess I'll determine if I am willing to go longer at that time. I have plenty of pellets. On one hand, how else am I going to lose the weight and be confident that it's fat loss? The other hand wonders if maybe I can actually work it off without this severely restricted diet now that I know a little about eating clean and using protein days (the apple day still sounds silly to me). Well, I want to be off of P2 definitely by the second weekend in August when I go on a camping vacation. I wanted to be well into P3 by then. I guess the beauty is that it's my choice and even though I wanted this to be my last round, (sigh) I can always do another round later.
I stayed the same today.

R2 lost 15.5 lbs
Thanks HunnyB,
I exercised pretty strenuously the first half of R1, but that was when I had the best losses. As R1 progressed, I didn't have the same energy and decided to skip it. I was a slow loser during my 41-day R1P2, too.
This time, the exercise is not nearly as strenuous. It's mostly core work and I haven't done the cardio workout lately - just walking or bicycling with the family occasionally. I do eat fruits - strawberries or apples. Occasionally, I'll have a Melba or Grissini if my meal isn't very filling.

kibear if it makes you feel any better (it may or may not..) I had nearly 2 whole weeks stalled this round - that's why I'm taking this planned interruption. I think as we have less to lose things move more slowly and we just have to accept that with following the protocol things will eventually start to move in the right direction, what we need to exercise MOST is patience!
Gary - if you are losing energy in the afternoons I suggest eating more protein in the mornings, not the evenings. That should level out your blood sugar better..
Kibear according to my research (have nothing better to do since today's heat index will be 112 here in the Nation's Capitol) the closer you get to your goal weight (or a weight that you have been previously for a long time-like 20 years ago for me) the harder it is to lose the weight. Your body wants to cling to it for some reason. I don't think it is something that you are doing nor are you sabotaging it. Sometimes I think it is best to listen to your body and stop. Like you said you can do the rest on "your own" or can do another round later. But I think your body is telling you that it is time to stop and go into P3. It is not a matter of giving up just knowing when it is time to stop. Don't worry about it and do what feels right.
I am so very happy today as I have reached the 40 pound loss mark. That means I have another 60 to go but I am on my way. I had planned on stopping this round on the 9th but may stop one week earlier depending on what I do next week. I think it would be best if I had two weeks to stabilize on P3 before Kachse and I head for California for two weeks. That way I can feel better heading off into the unknown (as far as meals and food goes). But we will see what transpires next week.
Heading to Hersheys park tomorrow for some R & R with my husband. Doing laundry now so that I can miss the heat of the day. Then heading out to do my weekly grocery shopping. Have a great weekend and stay cool everyone. Drink plenty of water and listen to your bodies!!!!
Karen
Sorry Kibear,
I gained today, 0.8#. No cheat, same old routine, walked 2 not 3 miles last night, it was still over 100 degrees at 6:30PM.
Abbey,
I have been eating an egg every morning for breakfast this round. I decided to swap it for the apple.
These last few pounds are getting tougher.
Gary
Round 4
Congrats Gary on making it to ONDERLAND!!! One day I will visit you there!!!
Congrats Karen!!! Have a good time this weekend.
Pookiebear....maybe you are at a good weight for the moment. How tall are you? How much you are you weighing right now? Hmmmmm.
Hey Abbey!!!
Down 1#. So close to my next mini goal I can taste it!! And it tastes good!!!
Later gators.

See? That's why I love you all, so much! You're so supportive and you'll tell it like it is!
I have relaxed about it, some. Stressing certainly doesn't help. I drank a Smooth Move last night and it helped output... some. I'm down 1# this morning, somehow! I really didn't expect that since I ate not one, but two fiber bars yesterday in addition to my P2 meals/snacks. I think that protocol says to do a minimum of 21(23?) days of HCG, so I will, at least, finish that out. After that, I'll take it one day at a time.
Karen! A big Whoo-hoo for you! 40lbs is quite the accomplishment! Like you, I may be ending around the 2nd to stabilize a couple of weeks before vacation.
Gary, I wonder what tomorrow's scale will say. You know your 'trend' if ever you have a gain...
HunnyB, Congrats on the 1#! I know that feels good!
