Alternate Correction Days that work
What are your best ways to avoid a steak day? My weight's been creeping for a variety of reasons some of them may be inflammation related but the creep's been going up for over a week from 124 to now 125.9 (highest it's been ever since p3) anyways I ate asiago cheese last night and I'm wondering if I'm eating too much cream cheese and cheese in general? I've been eating some cheese with most meals and then snacked on the asiago before bed. I'm going to try a few days dairy free and see how that goes and focus on meat and veggies. I just don't want to keep trending up and I would prefer to not have to do a full steak day because I do best with small meals in the day time (busy with things going on and my blood sugar tends to do better with some protien during the day).
Thanks for sharing what works for you all!![]()

Thank you Leez! I'd searched but had a hard time finding the posts!
Understandable. The search function is not great on this forum software and is rather cumbersome to use. We used to have a google search program that was much better. I really miss it.

Yeah, it seemed years ago it was easier to find a bunch of posts. Since I came back it's harder to find the posts. Appreciated the posts you shared. Very good ideas. Phew.....Going to take a deep breath and just focus on simple and slow and just light on the dairy. I keep hearing dairy/cheese can be a weight gain issue if it's too heavy on it. I likely had too much keto cheesecake also past 2 weeks with Christmas time/New Years LOL. Ugh probalby not the best time to start p3 RIGHT at the holidays! Well, I will just do the best I can moving forward!![]()
Eating too late at night, shortens your overnight fast and works against stabilization and maintenance.
If you are eating more than an ounce of hard cheese at back-to-back meals, then it could be you are overdoing the cheese. Quantity is a factor. (Note: for soft cheeses like greek yogurt or cottage cheese, normal servings are much larger.)....I ate asiago cheese last night and I'm wondering if I'm eating too much cream cheese and cheese in general? I've been eating some cheese with most meals and then snacked on the asiago before bed. I'm going to try a few days dairy free and see how that goes and focus on meat and veggies.
A couple pounds of weight shift is not uncommon for most women. Its when it doesn't go back down after a couple days that its time to examine where you might need make some tweaks.

Those are really good tips. Yeah, I think I over did the cheese/dairy. I had been lighter on it in previous months but well p3 just for some reason I've been well wanting it more! LOL. I'm going on lighter on it. Yeah, it hasn't gone back down but I'm fighting a cold and have been since last Thurs so not sure how much that is part of it also getting clsoe to PMS. I've also had some sugar free chocolate chips. Should cut those out. They are made with erythritol.
All bets are off on scale stability when you are fighting infections. Then throw hormone shifts in there and you are wild west territory/. ^_^
Just do the best you can and stick to your plan.
You can get a cheesy flavor in sauces by adding nutritional yeast. Maybe having something like that on your cooked veggies will help tame the cheese monster.
This is a vegan cheese sauce I like:
Put everything in a blender until smooth and then heat the sauce until the veggies are cooked. You can easily halve the recipe.
1/3 C coconut of olive oil
1/4 C. nutritional yeast
4 tsp dry mustard
1 Tblsp. tomato paste
2 minced garlic cloves
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
Salt and pepper
4 C. unsweetened almond milk
3 C. cauliflower florets or bag of frozen cauliflower rice
1 C. raw cashews
1 T. vinegar
This will thicken to a creamy sauce as it cooks. You can melt in some real cheese shreds if you like. Its just a good and yummy way to lighten up on cheese but still enjoy cheese.

Oh thank you Leez!! MMM that sounds SO good! Giving me cravings tonight! I'll look into that as a good dairy free option and try a few dairy free days because it's probably good just to let my body have a rest from dairy here and there too.
As far as cashews I'm guessing I'm far enough into p3 to try them as I am almost 1 month into it. I think I have cashew butter (Haven't tested it) but would cashew butter work? Unsweetened.
Thank you !!
Yes, cashew butter would work fine. You would probably need a bit less, since the cashews are already compacted.
If you are into week 4, you've already completed P3, so you are good to start trying things you were being cautious about.
