    Attn Leez: Correction day options

    To Leez,

I wanted to get your opinion on this correction day for me? Im not sure if im sensitive to eggs or cheese right now; Im 1.6 up from liw, and I havent weighted in 3 days, and I have had cheese eggs for a couple of days this past week. I want to do a correction day before Im 2 lbs over, but cant decide to do a regular steak day or do an alternate like, rot.chicken throughout the day or a chicken thighs?

Hey everybody, I wanted to share my correction day with you as maybe it will help you. I usually do very well with steak days, meaning a 1.2 lb loss but I hate not eating till evening as I am a breakfast girl... so I needed a correction day that worked better so I got the "opportunity" to do one on Friday. LOL! My struggle was with how MUCH food do I eat since I am in P3 and trying to get calories in yet stick to high protein so I don't kill myself and STARVE all day \o/

    So here was my day:

BF: 4 egg omelette with green peppers, red peppers, onion and chedder cheese made in butter
Coffee: Americano, steamed breve, 2 splenda

Lunch: 4 oz chicken breast with provolone cheese melted on top
    3 hard boiled eggs

Snack: Dannon plain greek yogurt 3.5 oz size (added blueberries)
    1 hard boiled egg

Dinner: (ate at 5pm) 1 beef patty with cheese and all the yummy toppings. no condiments except mustard

So I ate (8) eggs in total, got my meat in with the lean chicken and beef as well as my yogurt. I ate all day, didn't starve myself, drank 2 liters of water for a total of 1114 calories. Carbs= 8% Fat= 51% Protein= 41%

    Next day lost 3.0 lbs.

This is my new correction day for the next time I need it!!

First you should not do a correction day until you are over the 2 pound limit. It is amazing how many times you can go just up to the limit and then drop back before going over. I know its mentally scary, but the fewer correction days in P3 you do, the better it is for stabilization.

What you've posted as a plan is basically a high protein day. It could have worked so well for the poster if they had gained because of protein deficiency (which causes water retention and therefore shows up as a gain) That would explain the big drop as well.

If you suspect eggs or cheese might be causing your gain, it doesn't seem like a good idea to try to correct using eggs or cheese.

The steak day is always the remedy for a correction in P3. If steak days work for you, that is the way to go. But you are not in steak day territory yet. So some kind of high protein-super low carb day would probably be your best bet to back down a bit closer to your LIW. (The low-carb part encourages water to release.) But keep your calories up as much as possible without stuffing yourself.

A little anecdote : The way I found out I was sensitive to eggs was trying an egg correction day. I gained a couple pounds. Pretty big clue. I had been blaming other things until that point.

I tried them both at the same time, which is why I dont know if they both are the culprit or just one. So, I will eliminate both of them and just eat a whole rot. chicken tomorrow throughout the day, and hope that I come back down. THanks

Don't be afraid to eat some very low glycemic veggies (like salad or cucumbers) with your chicken. Even berries. If you stay around 20 carbs for the day, its pretty much the same as not eating any carbs at all. Remember that you are not to the point of needing a correction day yet.

So really, increasing your protein might be all that is needed.

You'll have to separate out the eggs and cheese to test separately. But again, you might just be having a normal P3 fluctuation within your window. You may be just fine with eggs and cheese.

I think we can sometimes sabotage ourselves with too much analysis.
