my first round I gained back 5 lbs in P3 but stabilized after that. Each subsequent round I went off the deep end in P3- however, at the time I didn't know about this website/forum. I had a "coach" and he told me I just needed to exercise A LOT. I knew I couldn't each sugar/starch, but I had no idea about upping my calories. So I would exercise and burn off like 600 calories a day and only consume around 1000-1200. And I always gained back. Last round I was determined to do it right. I did for about a week. I had small gains, but nothing I was worried about. But then I had my nieces weekend wedding extravaganza and I landed up gaining those 2.4 lbs... which wasn't bad in itself, but I had gone to the wedding almost hitting the 2 lb allowance.. I just couldn't keep it together after that. It seemed like no matter what I ate, I gained and had to do a steak day a week. Then I did the fmd for P4 and dropped the 6 lbs that I had gained in P3.. my first week of fmd-- 2nd week I dropped 2 lbs and then I fell just a little and just maintained.
That's why I am planning to return to P2 if I gain more than 5 lbs... I am hoping not too, but if I do.. I will return to the structure to take it off. If I have to give up thanksgiving- then so be it. I will be doing another round in January. Just not sure yet when. Depends on the PI.
For me personally, P3 is much harder than P2.. only because there is so much leeway.. In P2, I know if I stick to protocol I will lose. I also know that it will slow down, but I will still lose and inches too. P3 is very subjective. In my past, I haven't been a dairy or a nut person. So those would be my last choices. This P3 I'm sticking to "clean eating" with olive oil, evoo, steak, fish, seafood, poultry, brightly colored veggies, eggs. My devil is sugar... I LOVE candy.. so if I could stay away from the sugar, I think I will be ok.

I completely agree, P2 is easier for me because I do better on a strict protocol and didn't have cravings. This is my 2nd week on P3 and I'm up over the 2lb mark. I hate weighing now, it's skeery😁 Did an egg day today, so we'll see if it works! And if it does work, I sure hope I can maintain it!!!

Well I've crept up to my 2 pounds over ldw. Kind of freaking out. I still have two weeks left to go to maintain. I really don't want to do a steak day. Nooooo!

Sorry to hear this... Are you 2 lbs over your LDW?
Many say if you just eat clean for 2-3 days that the weight will come off. Do you have any idea what caused you to gain?

I'm confident that you will drop it off quickly.

I am exactly 2 lbs over my ldw. SO I am within the 2 lbs.. I'm not 2lbs over the 2lbs. lol.. I'm hoping it will go back down tomorrow. I did have a glass of wine, and probably not enough water... so yeah. no alcohol today. roast chicken tonight with broccoli and zucchini. oh the joys!

I remember getting so close t the 2 lb mark that i immediately quit experimenting. Do know almond flour and coconut flour as well as parmesan cheese caused weight increases so i stopped them" i dont drink alcohol so that was not an issue. I also decided not to use dairy while though it is allowed never sat well with me and made me feel bloated. Once i got into P4 then i experimented more with nuts and with no major issues. Also used almond flour to dip my fish in for pan fry and had no gains. Parmesan cheese i can always expect an increase of a pound so if i eat it i take a cpl more days to get rid of it.

I honestly think it was the wine. I've only had a .4 gain since saturday. the big jump was from the alcohol friday night. dairy has never been a problem and still isn't I maintained all last week eating the same things I still eat today. the booze is the wild card. so i will cut that out and ssee what happens.

I think you are right and you will drop either tomorrow or the next day. I start PI tomorrow. Thinking about eating all day. First time I felt hunger in the last few days- I had to have my dinner at 3:30pm. Now I'm just waiting for bedtime so I can wake up to a nice breakfast. Thinking eggs with either steak, ham or sausage with some berries. I think the steak would have the least amount of sodium. But I'll see my mood in the morning.

Well this morning I was back down. So the wine was the culprit. Figured. I won't be drinking very much this week as I get no days off until I find a new cook! Ugh! So that puts me at 1.6 over my ldw. I'm okay with that if it stays in the ball park. I may drop again tonight though.

Wow Rizzo, you are making some wonderful major changes in your life congrats on the beginning of your quitting smoking. Good time to quit, being that your allowed and encouraged to eat in abundance. Well the fat anyway.
I knew you would go down. I'm sure by tomorrow you'll be back to LDW.
I dropped 1.8 over night. That is completely absurd for me. I'm jumping up and down! Today was my first P3 breakfast. I had eggs cooked in butter with ham steak and berries. Lunch will be smoked salmon with cucumbers and maybe a sliced apple.
I couldn't finish my breakfast- which was a first for me. I packed it in Tupperware to snack on during my work day. I'm a substitute, and working in the high school today.
My tummy is growling, and I'm hoping that I don't have to run to the bathroom as I don't have much prep time.
    Keep up the great work
