    Exercise in P3

    I wanted to start walking again, at least a mile a few days s week. How will walking affect my weight stability, will it make me gain,lose?

    Its not a good idea to start any kind of strenuous workout in P3. But just walking really is good for you anytime, and as long as you don't push it too much (like power-walking), it shouldn't affect your P3. It will help in the area of your digestion and elimination, which can be problematic as you enter P3 and the body has to process larger amounts of food.

    thanks! My LIW was 119, I weighed in at 121.2 today--so Im doing a steak day today. My question is what kind and size of steak should I eat? Ive always done ribeye due to the fat; also, I do not like eating the apple with the steak, can I skip it?

    Any fatty cut of steak will work. I've even used pot roast successfully. Or you think its too lean, melt some butter on it.

    The apple helps keep the steak from constipating you. You can have a fresh tomato instead.

    In my case, I need the apple to help get enough steak down. Otherwise its too rich and after a few bites, I don't want anymore.

    I say that because i feel like the sugar & carbs of the apple prevent me from losing when I weigh the next day. My previous rds, I did not eat an apple or tomato and I lost just fine after the steak day. Im taking miralax for constipation as well.

    The protocol calls for an apple or a tomato. If you omit it, you are doing a correction day, just not a protocol correction day.

    Different correction days do work for different people, so if you get a good result from your variation, then that's a win for you.

    After a time, you learn what works for you and what does not. I can get as big a loss from a greek yogurt day or from and apple cheese day as from a steak day. And then again, I've had disappointing results at various times from all three strategies. There are those for whom the steak day does not work at all, or doesn't work consistently.

    I do find that if I have a big overnight gain, I can lose it all plus some from a steak day. If the steak day happens because I've been inching up incrementally, often I won't lose the whole 2 pounds over LIW.
