Did anyone see Dr Oz yesterday? He spoke of this very problem- overeating carbs and junk foods. He said its from a low chemical in the brain, but a different one from seritonin, I think it was melitonin but not sure. It did start with an M. He suggested L- tyrosin. I did read somewhere L- glutamine, and then in the same article, L- trptophan. So which is it? They all all "L" supplements, not sure what that means. But its confusing. The article I read online makes sense, I DO crave and often eat 1/2 boz carb loaded cereal, its usually cereal. But now I'm confused and don't know which one to buy. Also, are they sold in stores?

We will figure this out and I am there for you, exhottie. I have so much control over other areas of my life, except my marriage is in shambles and maybe I am taking joy from the food. But I've always LOVED eating good food. i am just a foodie. And I've often eaten 1/2 bpxes of cereal as far back as 20 yrs ago. No milk, just right out of the box. Not sure if that classifies as good food, but I LOVE the stuff! I have got to get a grip and realize that I cannot do this anymore if I want to maintain my weight loss. I went from 184 all the way down to 135 with several rounds of HCG over the past year. I have currently ballooned up to 148 in just the past month, I've gained 13 pounds. And one of the main reasons I added on another round this March was to lose enough to look good for a vacation on the beach. That is now next week and I am adding on all the weight right before I leave!! I reached my goal last month and was so happy, looked good. Then right before vacation, I am packing it back on! Makes no sense. Its like I'm sabatogging myself. Yesterday I did a steak day, today will be a fage day, and tomorrow another cprrection day. I wonder if I'm ruining my health doing so many correction days. I've got to get this under contol soon!

It's not bad to enjoy your food but it IS binging when you eat and eat even though you're not hungry just because it tastes good. I think maybe right now you think you don't deserve to be thin because of everything else being a wreck. Praying for you, honey.

actually, it was dopamine on the dr oz show. he said if dopamine was low in the brain, it lead to food cravings (mostly for carbs and junk) and to take L-tyrosin for it. Thoughts?

As I said earlier on this thread, I know others who read the Diet Cure and it really helped them. I wouldn't just go on what Oz said but would take the questionaire.

Ok Grammy. thanks. I did check it out online, as much as I could last night and actually all those brain chemicals and supplements are mentioned. I took the questioneere and scored barely under the trouble zone for being low on all the chemicals, so it seems like I am not particuarlly low any any, but just barely. Maybe more willpower is in order. I went ahead and pick up some L- glutinine because I cannot find the L-trytophan in the local store. I will try taking some with all the other supplements I currently take! I really appreciate all your advice. I will try to read of the book when I get more time. BTW I am down 6 pounds from a steak day followed by fage day. Doing a chicken thigh day today. Still up by nearly 10 pounds from LIW of 135 last month.

Glad you're come down though! And maybe the L-glutamine will help. Good luck!
