    Exclamation FFF: Using half and half instead of HWC? leezzz!!

    On day six (or 7? started 5/29 Tuesday) of p3 and wanting to do a FFF day. Not because I am over 2 pounds (actually under my LIW and highest ive been about it was about 0.7 but quickly fixed it) but because I 1. low on cash and have tons of 2% fage. 2. Really miss yogurt. Im thinking of at least doing it once a week because of budgeting.

    Quick mention: New to cooking so I am getting used to how to get all of my ingredients at once. Looking like a chicken with its head cut off.


    I have half and half, only ingredients are milk and cream. Nothing else included in its ingredients. I am going full organic with anything dairy from now on which I think helps. Can I use this instead of the HWC? or do I absolutely need the HWC..

    The only dairy ive done is 0% fage on p2 and did them a lot towards the end of the round because I wanted to get some food in. Didn't have gains with them. I either lost or stayed the same weight which was fine with me since it was the last days or so of p2. But the half and half scares me because it has milk and cream. Would it even make a difference to use the half and half vs the heavy cream in the fage?

    Half & half is fine in P3. You don't have to use HWC.

    You would have to add more than the 3/4 C HWC to the quart of fat-free fage to get a full-fat version, but you can also add coconut oil or MCT for some of the extra fat. I would caution not too much MCT oil, because it can have a laxative effect if you are not used to it.

    I think its a bad idea to do a FFF correction day if you don't need to correct. You could interfere with your stabilization. I would try just eating modest amounts of the greek yogurt for the protein at each meal and add whatever veggies or fruit you might still have on hand, rather than try to eat a whole quart of the FFF during the day.

    It looks like you are stabilizing well so far.

    I'm curious how you did with the Fage on phase 2? I'm a little leery to try it again, because it stalled me on my last round. Every round is different though, so I'm tempted to try it again...

    I use both, but mostly half and half and in P3 and P4, I have a glass of whole milk every night before I go to bed.
    It sounds like you're ok with dairy, you should be fine.
    Just know that if you use Greek yogurt for a correction day, it should be full fat (like 4 or 5%), not 2%.. Someone please step in if I'm off the mark there.
    But you can enjoy the 2% yogurt as part of your everyday meal plan. Greek yogurt freezes well, too. I use it to make "ice cream", frosties (like at Wendy's) and as sour cream. I'm frugal too and hate to waste food. You can pm me for some recipes.

    Maybe a moderator can also address your desire to do a correction day even if you don't need one? I would worry that it upsets the reset you've worked so hard to achieve. And you are doing so well :-)

    Yeah..I would agree 2% and fat free stuff have a tendency to have stuff in there that you do not want.

    I did not see these replies! I did fage just about every other day during the end of p2. I did good on it. Actually lost weight. Of course it was 0%. I had to try different things because I could not down any types of meats at one point. So I was on protein shakes, yogurt, tried low fat ground turkey, etc. Honestly my last week was just yogurt and protein shakes.

    Ive done super well with the fage during p3 and p4, which surprised me. I loved the yogurt so much I would do it weekly and stabilization has been amazing. If I remember correctly I did not use the h&h because I felt as if it was too early for it. I am lactose intolerant or would like to think I am to a degree.

    What I realized was the times I was gaining was when I didn't chew well/to quickly. Just a lot of food build up in my system that I had a hard time getting out. But leez helped me tremendously with that! I am still getting used to it honestly but I am glad I am eating slower and cutting everything up to help me realize my hunger signals.

    But yeah, I always did 2% with 12-16 tbsp hwc. Ive only done 5% once
