Thread: just finished day one of p3 and freaked out

  1. #13
I was so there! I feel for you, but if you followed protocol you'll probably be ok. If not, a steak day actually wasn't as difficult as I expected it to be and as I guzzle down water tonight I'm anxious, but eager to weigh in tomorrow morning.

My first BAB was amazing. I felt excited and guilty all at once as I drank down my full fat creamy coffee, but it resulted in zero gain or loss after day one! Let me know how it goes!

I felt so guilty about everything that I ate on day 1! I still do and am day 4, I just keep thinking that it is all going to catch up to me, but after 3 days, I can say that so far so good. I am stabilizing quite nicely. I have been slow to add foods back in though, I started with eggs and some dairy (cream and sour cream), have completed 3 days with no gains so think I will try cheese next. Other than that and some nice fats I have been sticking mostly with P2 foods just in higher quantities. I am dying to try peanut butter (if I can find some NSA, natural of course) so I think that will be my next step. Granted, I won't be able to have it on toast but can put it on apples.

Good luck first day cjj - enjoy it!

Good morning, I am glad to hear reports of successful stabilization. Tomorrow is my first P3 day and I am one nervous lady. I plan to go high, high protein and I too am looking forward to peanut butter. I have two jars in my pantry waiting to jump on an apple.
Moya- I don't know where you live, but Trader Joe's has unsalted all natural peanut butter.

Am I crazy, or is peanut butter only for P4? Something about it being a legume instead of a nut? I bought some almond butter to try instead?

Y'all are starting to freak me out about these bathroom trips. I will be flying cross-country on Day 1 or 2 of P3; please please please don't make me have to poo in an airplane toilet. ESPECIALLY if it is a noisy poo.

Just one more thing to worry about...

Kitty- technically you are correct about peanuts being a legume. Most vets recommend leaving PB for P4 but some people do eat it on P3 with no problems. Obviously everyone is different and reacts differently to different foods... some can get away with it and some can't. Personally I would wait until P4 just to avoid any issues. Almond butter is fine, and might tasty as well. As for the bathroom issues... I didn't have any issues last P3 and I don't even have a gallbladder. But like I said everyone is different. I didn't go crazy adding fats back in, just a splash of oil or butter to cook my eggs/veggies, etc.

I think that the culprit for me was the heavy whipping cream in my coffee, and not a huge amount, a little goes a long way. I had been drinking coffee all through P2 (but black - yech) so was so excited to have creamy coffee. Before hcg, I was a skim milk type of gal, but it has quite a few carbs per serving. Seriously, within 15 minutes of having that cream, rush to the bathroom. So, while I didn't really go crazy on the added fat, it is certainly not something that my body was used to.

There was also a stomach bug making rounds through my office (it took down about 4 people last week alone) so for me it may have been a combo of both, a touch of the flu and dietary changes.

steak day didn't yield great results for me. only down .4. I had a very bad day yesterday and started a new thread about it.

Egg day resulted in a 3.2 loss thankfully, but I'm still 5.2 above LDW. Sigh. Doing a fff day today and hopefully I'll get below 160 again. My LDW is 156.8. So annoyed with myself. I also should be finishing TOM by Monday or Tuesday. Maybe my body will calm down after that. Hopefully. After my fff day depending on the results I see I'm going to eat clean for a few days and then either do another fff day (as it's delicious) or experiment with a nut day. Steak days definitely aren't for me.

It took an egg day, followed by an fff day, followed by two high protein days, but I am now at exactly 2 lbs over ldw. I know I technically need to be one tenth of a pound less to not be in correction mode, but I am so relieved to have lost those seven pounds. Cheating was so not worth it everyone. I am planning to eat normal p3 for a few days to see how my body responds with little to no nuts and then do one more correction day if I Have to this weekend. I'm hoping my body is going to stabilize back where it needs to be and I don't need to raise my LDW.

I am sorry this has been such as struggle! What exactly was the cheat, if you can bear to relive it? You have got 10-11 more days of P3 to stabilize, so don't fret too much over where it ends up. You can do this P3 thing!
