Thread: Flo’s exciting journey towards Stabilization

I would have done the same thing if I ate stuff I know I can't have or respond to with a gain. Seems like you have a good plan/grip. I wonder if, at the time, they knew much less about this kind of inflammatory response and just recommended a steak day for anything up that way. It will bring inflammation down in most.

Anyway, I do not plan on having a steak day either but I think that I will need to weigh every day initially I think. I will need to develop the same approach as Jeff and not care too much but give things more time and fluctuation.

Dubbles I know it might be a bit rogue... but perhaps on the day skip your fruit and your breadsticks maybe?

I am going to have to say that "not care too much" doesn't fairly or accurately sum up my approach. True, I have done this enough where I don't sweat single day scale readings but I am very in tuned to longer trends and a steady gain trend over a couple days would concern me greatly. Luckily I haven't gotten to that point. I came close once during this P3 round but luckily the weight came down before pulling the trigger on a steak day. But I am on the scale every morning, keeping track and my head in the game. I am also paying attention to my body's signals and portion sizes. That diligence doesn't come from somebody who doesn't care too much.

But in fairness I try to be patient and understand the long game. I try to maintain the understanding that a single day's jump in weight can be related to many other factors besides REAL weight gain for reasons we all know. But like everybody else, I hate seeing a big jump even though I know it is just water weight. If I avoid the scale, my head is out of the game and I have no structure or accountability to the program and that is when I really go astray. I am really good at lying to myself or avoiding uncomfortable truths, which is pretty much the same thing. Stepping on the scale every day keeps me grounded in reality.

You really are an ideal role model in terms of how to best use the scale as a useful accountability tool without letting it f&%$ with your mindset. I suspect that's what mrsstrong meant when she said something about not caring too much--that you've figured out how not to let a slightly increased number ruffle your feathers and derail you. Instead, you've stayed curious and on course to tremendous positive effect. I'm so grateful you've shared this process with us here. It's been very instructive to me, and I aspire to getting to a similar place one day . . . though it may have to be once I'm through menopause, LOL.

Down .44--that is good, always better than up. Eliminating carbs for even one day may take you to where you want to go? How long do you expect your next round to be? I'll still be in P2 for a week or two when you get there. Have a good weekend, Yvonne.

That may have been a wrong choice of words. I meant what you are saying about the long game and not sweating a single day's jump right away

I do plan on stepping on the scale every day, but I also hope to develop your attitude of waiting and trusting the process over a few days and not freaking out right away. I need to learn my patterns wrt working out for instance.

That is my take-away from how you approached P3

    Good Morning all....
Sorry for being MIA for a few days, just a lot of stuff happening at my end keeping me forever busy
Week 2 of P4 and preparing to cycle back and load this coming weekend
I did allow myself a small potato TWICE this past weekend and still sitting at the top end of my 2 lb window but hoping to get back down to LIW before i load, definitely not planning on losing the same weight a second time
So scale and food wise there is not much to report... I still feel confident that I can rock a next P3 and navigate healthily through a P4 and going forward.... Thing is just to stay accountable and not take my eye off the prize.....

The scale will not be my master but will be my constant reminder of how easy it is to lose focus

    Take care all

In fact it is also the approach I will be taking in my new round
My first round I pushed and pushed and freaked out whenever I got a stall or a gain, and I struggled in P3.... second round I lost less but P3 was a breeze

I am still hoping for a 22lbs loss though

Hi Dubbles - sorry I missed your post, but never late than never, right?
I eliminate carbs during the week and allow myself some freedom on weekend.... that way i have my new habits and new bounderies
I always do a long round... including skip days I will be on P2 till end of May... with my dose I normally get about 43 shots in a round and I like starting my P3 on a weekend... so being my last round I may just push a few days into June
So yes I will be around.... nice to have someone else on P2 at the same time
