    Hi All!
Steak day was a success...down 2.8 and now .6 below LDW For some reason I am really afraid it wont take and I'll see that 2.8 tomorrow. That's what happened when I used to do apple days on P2 when I first started. I would drop weight the next day but be back up the following. I am also still waiting on TOM!!! I used to be 28 days and it would last 6 days. After I had my 2nd daughter it never went back to normal. Its usually 26 days but can be 28 and its now day 31! I am blaming stress!

ABS - good for you on the exercise! I am sure your muscles are just retaining water. It may take a day or two but it will come back down.

Good luck with steak day Marly!

I am looking into product that may help with loose skin. I am really hoping it works...my arms look gross (IMO) and pushups and weights are not helping. One of the downsides of being overweight your whole life and then being skinny. Anyone have any tightening products they use and like?

    Have a great night!

Jill, don't you sometimes feel like a private investigator on a case? Good for you getting through your steak day. How did you prepare it? I like crushed garlic on mine with plenty of salt and pepper. My last steak day I fried my steak in a pan with coconut oil and it was delicious, but usually I broil mine. I hope your steak day was successful and you lost at least a pound, maybe two. My best steak day I lost more than 3 lbs. That was a long time ago. My TOM is every 26 days or so but can last for a week and a half, which is pretty frequent if you ask me. Maybe it's God's way of making us look forward to menopause...

Welcome aboard, Marly. Sorry to hear about your traveling souvenirs... I'd be interested in hearing how eating clean helped. Isn't it disappointing when a steak day doesn't work its magic? I have never done a FFF days. I'm not sure how my body would react and I'm nervous about experimenting. I've also heard of people using chicken thighs or salmon instead of steak. How did you do the FFF day? Did you fast and then eat a lot at dinner just like on a steak day?

Jennifer16nurse, so glad you could join us. Reading your post reminds me of the Hippocrates quote: "Let your food be your drug." Some of us sure have "drug reactions" when we don't eat or drink right. I guess for the rest of our lives, we have to check our "dosages" and reactions. It really is a pretty small price to pay for looking look good and being healthy. You look good in your photo. How much have you lost? I've lost about 35 lbs. from where I started last spring. What do your hospital buddies think of this diet (or did you tell them?). Isn't it ironic that the people in the health care industry don't care for their own health? Shows how systemic the problem is...

Addie, welcome back. Good for you keeping up the good fight in P3. This round has been so different for me than my last P3, when I was either camping or going to conferences or on weekends with girlfriends and still I maintained. I have done 3 steak days in 3 weeks. Are you consuming enough food? I remember you liked apple butter and digestive enzymes. Because of you, I’ve been taking my probiotics. Are you exercising any more than usual? I wonder about inflammation (although then no one would lose on the Biggest Loser). My doctor told me this last round when I crept up over the holidays:

"Exercise does not work to control your weight. Only wise food choices can do that. Go back to the first week of maintenance diet for 1 week: only meats, vegetables, and fruits, no grains, starches, sugars, dairy, or nuts. That should get you back to your final HCG weight. Then add new foods slowly, one at a time. Identify the triggers that cause you to gain and eliminate them. Remember also to plan your meals in advance and drink plenty of water, and of course weigh every morning and intervene the next day if your weight is up."

AFM, I’m 150.0 today, which is 2.0 above my LDW. I blame excessive exercise yesterday (over an hour cross training: elliptical, recumbent bike, and treadmill, and then mall walking with my teenager for hours). Today I’m eating clean and drinking a gallon of water mixed with slices of ginger root and lemon, a TBSP of raw apple cider vinegar, and stevia, which goes down easier than just plain water.
That photo is from my first round in 2011. I'm about 15lbs heavier than that now. But the funny thing is back then I was all about being skinny. I'm 5'5 and was 135 on that pic and I wanted to lose 10 more lbs! Now I'm all about looking fit and healthy. I want a nice muscular frame. Funny how our priorities change when we realize what's attractive in life. I used to think skinny was pretty and it's not. Fit is beautiful

I've lost a little over 30lbs and I think as far as my weight goes I'm happy. Just not shaped the way I'd like to be but that will come in time

I am a nurse in a jail actually. Worked there for over 6 years now. Only a couple people know about this diet. But even if I told most of them, they'd have no right to judge me cause they are all on the Phentermine diet pill which is horrible. I used that years ago. It's not a lifestyle change. It's a quick fix that backfires later on

I'm traveling back home on Sunday for a week to help my mom take care of my grandmother. She Has Surgery Tomorrow. My plan is to make a bunch of chicken prior to going and putting it in a cooler then getting eggs and other p3 friendly goods while I'm there. Won't be able to do my workouts but plan to take a couple evening walks. I'm nervous about going home. It's always hard to eat special when out of town. Wish me luck

    Hi gals,
Did another steak day today because I was shocked, shocked (ever see Casablanca?) to see my weight at 150.4 this morning. That, after eating perfectly clean yesterday and the day before. No fair! P3 sucks. However, since I read that fasting is actually good for us, I decided two steak days in one week wouldn't harm me. I'd love results like yours, Jill! How big of a steak did you eat? I got a 1.3 pound T-bone and had an apple. Then I worked in my garden for 2 hours. Then I drank my water. I just finished so now will have to wait until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to weigh myself, otherwise it'll be water weight.

Anybody struggling with constipation in P3? I was so regular in P2, I took it for granted. It's probably the increased protein and less water contributing. I'm surprised, though, because I eat yogurt and consume probiotics, as well as a lot of fruit and vegetables.

Lyanne, that lady you were was still attractive, but now you're a hot chick. Isn't it more fun going through your day with the cute bod? Are you still getting used to seeing yourself smaller? How have you been maintaining since restarting your P3? Did you read about my two steak days?

For the benefit of the group, I'll list what I think caused my gains so you can all avoid the same mistake:

    Day 19, Thursday, 148.6
    B-coffee, cream, 2 ½ eggs, coconut oil, apple, 1 T Pamela’s mix
L-pork chop, asparagus, brussel sprouts, oil, cinnamon
    S-wine
D-ground turkey, spinach, zucchini squash, tomato sauce, cheese
S-sprouted wheat bread, butter, reduced sugar jam

    Day 20, 150.4-----Steak day

    Day 21, 149.2
    B-coffee, h&h, yogurt, cherries
L-beef, squash, olive oil, ½ onion, mushrooms, tomato
S-1 c. Jay Robb protein shake, pecans
    D-turkey, green beans, wine
    S-popcorn, cake
Overdid my snacks. Wine lowered my inhibitions about eating. Was craving salty crunch—should’ve salted celery w/ PB.

    Day 22, 150.8
    B-coffee, h&h
    L-chicken, salad, ACV dressing
    S-1/4 macaroon, tea, sunflower seeds
D-3 eggs, artichoke hearts, green onions, wine

    Day 23, 150.0
    B-coffee, h&h, cottage cheese, clementines
    S-sunflower seeds 1/8 cup
    L-tuna, coconut mayo, celery, tomato
    D-chicken, asparagus

    Day 24, 150.4-----Steak day

Bugs - yep, this gain is a downer but I'm trying to push forward. I'm back up on the high end of the 7 lb gain.

Do you think this weight gain should be my new LIW? Ive been bouncing back and forth between the same couple of pounds at the heavier weight. I extended my P2 by a little over 10 days. Do you think that could've been a reason for the gains?

Great job on the steak day. I hope it stays off for you.

Abs - good idea; I think I need to do that: meats, veggies, and fruit. I am starting to think that the double side of guacamole (I was trying to get my calories up) from Chipotle may be adding to this problem. I feel like I'm eating a good amount of food each day, but I've stopped counting calories so I'm not sure. Have you seen others gain from guacamole?

I went to a couple of spinning classes a couple of weeks ago. Once the weight started to creep up I stopped. I'm looking forward to cycling mini rounds to get this extra weight plus more off. I feel like I can see the gains :-(

Jill, stress can do strange things to our bodies. Sorry you're up, but at least your steak day bought you a little cushion. Weren't you under LIW? I hope you stabilize like before, but maybe this has something to do with TOM?
Jennifer, that's great that you can go help your mother after her surgery. I hope it goes well for her. I really appreciated my sister--also a nurse--helping me after major surgery a few years back. You'll bring her a lot of comfort. I know it's hard eating P3 while travelling, but you can do it! If I could stabilize on camping trips and away with girlfriends for a weekend in my last round, you can do it!
Addie, are you stabilizing at this 7 pound higher weight? My original LDW was 145, but that was artificially low. I crept up and up, and finally seemed able to stabilize around 148, so that's what I'm calling my LDW. It's still within normal range for someone of my height. Is your new number something you could live with? Do you want to share what you've been eating the day before gains so we could help spot something that maybe you're not? Are you using MyFitnessPal or the like to make sure you're eating enough calories? That's really helped me, although it's a bit of a pain to do.

AFM, my steak day only brought me down 1.4 lbs. to 149.0, which is 1 pound above LDW. I'm hoping that maybe it was all the hours in the garden yesterday and drinking most of my water at 8:30 last night. I really can't stand waiting to weigh myself in the morning in hopes of dropping more weight because I like to drink a cup of coffee and start my day. We'll see what happens tomorrow...

I get nervous when I go home too. I bring a lot of my food...you will do fine! Good luck!

I would say that if your body seems to automatically jump to the higher weight than adjust your LIW. I had to do that on one of my rounds by 8lbs! But once I adjusted my LDW I stayed within a pound without a problem.

This is true. I was under LDW and yesterday at LDW and today I was 149.3!!! 1.4lbs up and I have no idea why. And I was super hungry yesterday too. I am thinking TOM just forgot to come at this point! I am sure it will sneak up on me when I least expect it! Today I sot of did a ffyogurt day. I say sort of because I could not find full fat yogurt. So I did 32oz of 0% plain yogurt through out the day and I had a salad with full fat dressing at lunch and 4oz hamburger with guacamole at dinner. If I only had the yogurt it would have been under 600 calories for the day. So I added in more fat and protein. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Strangely yes I do love my job lol. Been there over 6 years already and there has never been a dull moment. I have stories that I could tell for weeks lol!!

I am gonna make a bunch of chicken ahead of time and put in a cooler. I bought my mayo and tuna that I take along. When I get there I'll buy eggs, cheese and other p3 items. Keeling it simple and will probably eat the same thing daily for the time I'm there

    Hi All,
Jennifer-you must have a lot of good stories!

Abs-yes, I have also been constipated in P3...not as bad as in P2 however. I find the digestive enzyme does help a little.

Is it wrong that I am soooo happy tomorrow is my last day at a job I have only had for 3 weeks? This has been the most stressful and exhausting 3 weeks of my life!
semi yogurt day brought me down .7, now only up .7 from LDW. Hoping to not fluctuate so much...maybe no job will help! Although I have been submitted for two positions closer to home...hoping to be working again within 2 weeks.

I am starting to add a few P4 foods, I am D26 so I think it will be ok and wondering if my body needs some starches now since I have been so hungry lately. I only added in a rice cake...which I had in P2 so I thin it will be ok Oh and the baked oatmeal///but I eat that occasionally anyway. I think I will try a sweet potato at some point this weekend.

    Hope everyone is doing well!
