    P3 - The Best Of.....Bars?

Now - socializing (I have covered my breakfast and dinner beverages! LOL).

I know that tonic water and fruit juices and anything sweet (Bailey's, margaritas, etc) are out. Is there an especially yummy low-carb cocktail that you have had? A Michelob Ultra has 2.6g of carb - is this an acceptable drink, or is that still too high?

OOHHH a favorite question of mine!! If I am out soemwhere I do a littel vodka, club soda and lime, crisp and refreshing. If I am buying beer I get Beck's Light, 64 calories of real Holland beer, not watery at all. Forgot how many carbs but it is comparable to Michelob Ultra but with real beer flavor. If I am at home I will make a mojitto with splenda simple syrup, muddled mint and vodka, I use it instead of Bacardi because of the lower carbs.

    Hope this helps!

OMG that mojito sounds wonderful. Off to look for sugar-free simple syrup recipes!

I think I will do with an Absolut citron with soda and a twist. That doesn't sound too dweeby, does it! I haven't seen Beck's light out in pubs, but I will be on the look-out. I think Mich Ulta is ok, but my H says it is pules miss.

I do vodka waters with like 4-5 limes squeezed in. It neutralizes the taste of the vodka and you have a slightly tangy drink you don't have to feel very guilty about. I think they are just 80 calories per drink depending on what kind of vodka you were poured.

Ahhh, a topic near and dear to my heart. How is red wine in Phase 3? I know that in P&I, he mentions an occasional glass of red wine is OK. So, I wonder if his definition of "occasional" is the same as mine. Anybody have any personal experience?

Moya - just remember a "glass" of red wine in the 1950's is TOTALLY different from the mega-huge red wine glasses we have today (and I have at home). I'm thinking he probably means about 6 oz., where I can pour a 1/2 glass and consume 8 oz. Being an admitted "Wineaux" (I do love me some red wine), I find my control with red wine somewhat lacking . . . a 1/2 glass usually turns into THREE 1/2 glasses by the end of dinner and I've consumed over 20 ozs. - which equals about 500 calories! I'm sure your control is better, but for me, I have to stay away from it.

Funny how I can easily have only ONE vodka soda . . . .

It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.
