Thread: P3 D1 nervous

    P3 D1 nervous

Today is officially P3 and im equally excited and terrified! 12# down and feeling more comfortable in my skin again.

I ate about 1000 cals, maybe a little more. Mostly p2 foods, but a little butter for fat, chicken skin with my chicken, mct oil, and some sunflower seeds.

That was probly too much change all at once wasnt it???

I feel satisfied and blessed by added fat. Praying I don't gain tomorrow!

My tummy is always so much bigger once I add foods. Celiac & IBS did a number when I was younger & no matter how well I eat, I always have a food baby. Probiotics & enzymes are my regulars.

Am I likely to find a scale increase along with my bigger belly?

Also, is rhubarb allowed in P3? I love to steam it with strawberries & add some stevia for a sweet treat or breakfast.

Thanks for the list, I knew it was fairly low in sugar but wanted to make sure.

    I. Think my cals may have been higher than 1000. Ate a fair amount of fat. I'm quite full now for the first time & fear a gain in the morn.
No sugar other than an apple w cinnamon.
I was so excited for fats I may have gone overboard. But calculating it it doesnt seem too high.
My tummy looks like I have a food baby. :/

Not eating after 630 is a good idea, I am going to try that as well.

Btw. I probably overdid the blueberries. Your weight in P3 may go up and down. The turkey bites i had were full of sodium so not going to get stressed. So long as i stay in the 2 lb range not under and over the 4 lb window fluctuation
Then i should be stable end of 21 days. Just need to be careful i dont have too many nuts or cheese in P3

Splunky, you may have an increase but if you do, don't stress about it. That is what the 2 pound grace window is for--to handle any fluctuations as your body adapts to processing fats again and more volume of food.

Since you introduced seeds today, you might wait a day or two to see how you are doing before adding any of the other common problems (nuts, dairy, eggs, cheese). For me, I find its better to eat rather plain the first week fo P3 and do any testing you want in the rest of P3.

    Thank you.

I ended up DOWN 2.1 pounds! I did not expect that!
My cycle did start last night, very light. I'm thinking it's just due to stopping the hcg because it's a little early. That may be why the drop, I was holding water.

Today ive already reached 1100 cals, loving coconut and the added fats! My tummy is very satisfied but I've obviously got to reign it in a little now.

Yay for any amount of "cushion". The first week can be volatile on the scale, and it helps to have some extra leeway.

Actually, you need to ramp it up. Its important to get to your needed calorie level as soon as it is comfortable. (that's at least 1500, and likely more). So enjoy those yummy good fats. Have some avocado! I generally eat a whole avocado in a day in P3. Its ok!

Oh ramp it up??? I was reading some places that said introduce calories slot and one even said 700-900 for the first few days! Then 1000-1000 for a few days after that etc.

So, it's 330 & I've eaten about 1200 cals maybe a little more. I'm ok? All allowed foods, only berries for carbohydrates.
I think I overdid it with some fats. A handful of sunflower seeds on my salad, salad dsg (sugar free), mct oil in my muddy tea, 2T guacamole, fresh coconut, and a little almond meal mixed in my steamed berries for texture.
    😳

I think im just excited for new foods!

Dinner will be a Greek salad, minus feta for now, from Panera (bringing my own dsg), after a 5mi walk w a friend, so hopefully it'll all work out ok.

P3 is so scary to me. Terrified to wake the beast but yet loving a little more freedom!

Sounds like you are on track. Its fine to be a little calorie-low at first, but not for more than a couple days. You don't want to be stabilizing at a super low calorie level, you want to be able to eat normally when you are done. Remember that your metabolism is revved up from the HCG, so take advantage of that during P3. Personally, I've found that I can eat 2000+ calories in P3 without gaining. Afterwards, it drops back to about 1700 or less for me. Your numbers may be different than mine, but sharing that just to give you the idea of how it can trend.

There are a lot of theories about how to navigate P3, and slowly adding calories, or even staying with P2 foods with just a bit of added fat are a couple of the more popular ones. But consistently over the years of reports that are made in these forums, the best stabilization results come from those that eat freely to their hunger/satisfaction signals without regard for calories. Really, the only reason to track calories is to see if you are eating enough. Just be sure to follow the no starch/no sugar rules and you will be fine.
