P3--eating too much vs not enough?

Okay, Im stuck in a place over the past week where Im creeping towards a steak day, I do a chicken thigh correction day, drop at least a 1 or alittle over, but im back up in a couple of days. I have only been eating chicken, some salad with simple girl dressing & tomatoes only. Im sick of chicken and but im scared to move to new foods due to my yo yo weight. Please any help on this?

Give up the fear and just eat whatever you want as long as it is not starchy or sugary, or is something you know to be a problem food for you.

Restricting too much in P3 is worse than over-eating. For one thing, you can develope sensitivities to foods that you eat everyday, so no matter what you do, you are going to gain from inflammation if that happens.

Ditch the simple girl dressing and use an olive oil dressing. Get in a variety of good fats like avocado, butter, and animal fats by choosing fattier cuts of meat. Eat some bacon.

Creeping towards a steak day is not the same as having to do one. You are still stable at this point. I encourage you to relax the controls and enjoy eating things you like during P3. If I were you, I wouldn't eat another piece of chicken for quite a while, and try some chop salads instead of lettuce ones. Tomatoes, cucumber, chopped fresh cilantro and with an olive oil vinegrette is amazing. (Don't forget the cracked black pepper.)

    Thank you Leez,

I know I need to eat more variety. Is it real at or FL ui d that I'm yo-yoing? I have a list of foods I want to try. Can you give me a yes or no, considering where I am now. I dont have any sensitivities that I know of.

    Thousand island dressing
    Blue cheese dressing
    Salmon
    Ground Turkey

Any dressing with 1 or less carbs per serving (and no sugar) is fine in P3. Any meat is a good choice, salmon and turkey are as good as any other. Any bacon with 0 carbs per serving is fine, even if sugar is listed in the ingredients. (And you don't eat 10 servings at once. ^_^ ) The best choices for dressings are ones you make yourself with really good ingredients because they don't have fillers and chemicals.

Sensitivities are hard to sort out. I didn't realize I had an egg sensitivity until I tried doing an all egg correction day. And when I gained instead of losing, it finally made sense looking back at my logs where I gained after eating eggs. I didn't see it, because I was suspecting something else. Ironically, the two meats you ask about (salmon and turkey) are other sensitivities I discovered. Also lamb---which is what they put you on when you are supposed to be eating a safe diet. Not so say you shouldn't try them, just that anything can be a problem. And things that never seemed to be problems before can suddenly become problems. Note though, that it took me a long time to figure this out, and I had no issues with sensitivities my first couple of rounds.

If you haven't gone over your 2pound limit you are not yo-yo-ing. There are natural fluctuations day to day, which is why you can be swinging back and forth in and range of 4 pounds and still be considered stable. No one is going to hit an exact number every day.

I think the best thing would be if you could relax and just enjoy eating the stuff you are allowed. Stress can actually cause gain all by itself because it increases cortisol. But yes, those daily fluctuations are all water related, especially if you have downs as well as ups.

I agree and ready to eat more and enjoy P3. The necessary evil of weighing everyday can make or break my day unfortunately. I took your advise and lsat night I had a big green salad with turkey bacon(4 strips) diced tomatoes, green peppers, with simple girl drsing honey mustard & splash of thousand island no carbs or sugar. I havent weighed yet today.

Not enough food. Not enough fat. Not enough protein. You are still restricting with a diet mentality. You could have added to that salad:
regular pork or beef bacon instead of turkey bacon (you don't need low fat bacon)
    avocado
more thousand island dressing, or some extra virgin olive oil
    hard boiled egg

Weighing every day is a double edged sword for sure. But you have to get yourself to the place where the number is useful data, rather than the monster that dictates what kind of mental day you will have. You will have to work hard to lose the fear of eating enough, but it can be done. It is scary, because you have to trust your body to respond appropriately to the nutrition you are now giving it, but you will be amazed at how much you can eat in P3 and not gain significantly. Again, bouncing around within that 4 pound window is very normal. You don't need to do anything about those day to day changes until the number goes over a 2 pound gain.

Yes, go for it! You trusted P2 and were rewarded, yes? Now maybe you can trust the P3 process the same way. Try to look at it as the same leap of faith.
