The only exception to waiting till hungry to eat is breakfast. You need some calories in the morning even if not hungry. Its what starts your metabolism burning for the day.

You can have them in liquid form (like bullet proof coffee, or some lightened up version). You could just do a simple light coffee with a scoop of collagen and a tsp of MCT and blend it up to make it creamy. I like to add a bit of sunflower lecithin too, as it helps it all emulsify.

Yes, wait on the nuts to reintroduce for at least 3 days. Personally, if I react to something in P3, I don't retest till P4. I'll just test something else. Saves some angst.

    Hi Leez,

Thank you for that info. I will eat breakfast tomorrow- like an egg and an egg white and maybe Grammys inflammation smoothie. I will also look at getting some collagen and MCT oil. Are there any brands you like better than others?

My plan is to wait to try nuts again in P4. Plenty of other foods to eat. I don’t need the additional stress ha ha!

In other “I was stupid” news I went to a party in a restaurant and had meatballs and bruschetta topping. Then driving home I was thinking that meatballs sometimes have bread mixed in. I called But the restaurant was not sure. Ugh... so stupid. Hopeful that this is ok tomorrow. Gosh what a rookie mistake. Meanwhile I am practicing eating until satisfied. Today I ate regular portions and waited 15 minutes. Very illuminating that I was not hungry 15 minutes later. Also very easy to do at a party.

Hope you have a great evening. Thank you so much for your help.

Your breakfast plan sounds great. Getting some veggies in at breakfast is the hardest thing for me, so I applaud you. But basically you want to make sure you have a little protein and a little fat as part of the package.

For collagen hydrosylate, grassfed is best. There are lots of different brands. Great Lakes is probably the most commonly available. I would avoid anything that comes from China. Even if legitimately grass feed, who knows what pollution has fallen on that grass. MCT is also pretty much the same tastewise. I've used NOW brand, Piping Rock, Trim Healthy Mama, and whatever brand Costco is carrying.

I don't think you'll have any repercussions from the meatballs (unless it turns out you are gluten sensitive or something like that) There can't have been any great amount in whatever serving you had. But lots of meatball recipes don't call for bread at all, so you may have had some that used a parmesan filler for instance.

    Good Morning Leez,

Thank you for your advice! Still up .6 pounds, but no additional increase. Yay for no bad effects from meatballs! Thank you for the update on brands. I find shopping to be overwhelming sometimes with all the choices, so those guidelines are really great. I will also think about adding some sunflower Lethicin? I saw that on your Intermittent Fasting thread. Do you think that is a good thing to add to coffee?

Also, I made your cocoCrack recipe today. Do you heat the zylitol and coco powder and melted coconut oil together to blend it?

When I make Grammy's smoothie I use strong chai tea or coffee instead of water. (brew it strong, add ice cubes to cool, or, make it the night before and leave it on the counter. A bit of fruit can help the flavor too, but instead of fruit I get "key limes" at the 99 cent store which I think are sweeter and I also add curry powder--just a touch, dash of tumeric and dash of pepper to activate the tumeric/curry.

I am finding the wait 15 minutes to be very helpful. I actually look at the clock as I have no sense of time. I need to work much harder on eating to satisfaction. I am just not getting it grrrr. Any tips? Honestly why is this so hard??? I am not usually this stupid but I keep feeling overly full at the 15 minute mark. So I will reduce my portion sizes.

Thank you as always for your help.

    Have a wonderful Monday!

Glad to see you had a little drop. Thats the way P3 is supposed to work. Fluctuating within your window. No one stays the same every day, so small ups and downs are to be expected.

Yes, reduce portions and see if that helps fine tune your satisfaction perception. You may find you need to eat a little more frequently, but that's part of the adjustment. A good break between meals is 3-4 hours, but for some 2.5 might be the sweet spot. You'll be able to tell when your hunger starts kicking in.

Lecithin is good for brain function and heart health, but its not necessary in the coffee. It just helps the oil and water emulsify for a creamier result. Sunflower lecithin is preferable over soy because soy is a hormone disrupter. And here we are just spending time and effort to correct hormones, so why mess that up again?

Also, I made your cocoCrack recipe today. Do you heat the zylitol and coco powder and melted coconut oil together to blend it?
No, nothing that complicated. I powder the xylitol (coffee grinder) and just mix everything into slightly melted coconut oil. No cooking necessary. Xylitol doesn't really melt all that well, so powdering it disperses it and provides a good texture. If I can find powdered xylitol, I just buy it that way because it works better in everything I use it for.

    Good Morning Leez,

The coffee Grinder!!!! What a great idea and great use of an under-used appliance! Thank you for the clarification. Despite an 8;30 PM dinner (Mom had a fall and I had to go to the Emergency room ), I am back down to my usual weight. I celebrated with a delicious breakfast. I am taking food with me to the care center so I eat. I am working on smaller portions and seeing how I feel after 15 minutes. I wish I could get the hang of satisfaction vs. stuffed by how I feel about the next bite, but right now it is not happening. However, I think I can grasp it eventually and the waiting 15 minutes is just such a HUGE help! I am very enthusiastic about it.

    Thanks again and Happy Tuesday.

After my first round I obsessed over calories and food. Weighing yourself daily and seeing how the slightest thing can impact your weight while on the VLCD can aide in developing a bit of a neurosis in my opinion. especially in people who dont exactly have a healthy relationship with food already. For me; I just had to "get over it" ... meaning I stopped fussing and worrying. I also found it helpful to remind myself that if I did mess up ... I knew how to correct it quickly.

hcg diet really can take a toll mentally... i mean think about it... when else in life are you fixated on .4 ounces of your weight? .... that being said ... I think its a great program for "quick" results.

in short best of luck and dont sweat it ... theres always a delicious steak day if you need one
